  1. River All American B*tch I Can See You Liquor & Cigarettes
  2. Is Daylight by David Kushner (#41 on Spotify today) showing up as by completely random artists for everyone else too? Has his Spotify been hacked lmao
  3. I don’t know about overall, but Heat Waves increased in Spotify streams for 17 weeks in a row at the start of 2021
  4. Maestro posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
A few that I’d enjoy: Paramore - Misery Business (although I guess we had good 4 u a couple of years ago) Razorlight - America Yazoo - Only You The Clash - London Calling Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing The Calling - Wherever You Will Go The Cure - Friday I’m in Love

+5 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor +4 Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer +3 Billy Gillies feat. Hannah Boleyn - DNA (Loving You) +2 Dua Lipa - Houdini +1 cassö, RAYE & D-Block Europe - Prada -1 Noah Kahan - Stick Season -2 Teddy Swims - Lose Control -3 Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me -4 Tate McRae - greedy -5 Tyla - Water
  6. That’s not usually a week one move tho right? More something to do if the song has been popular for a while but needs an extra boost to get to #1? Seems very challenging to get a guest verse remix out at short notice in week one.
  7. Smile Like You Mean It is better than both of them imo
  8. Is Incredible Sauce (ridiculous song title) picking up TikTok traction or something? Saw it charted in Ireland last week before taking off here
  9. 756k is absurd. New peak for Somebody Told Me at #87
  10. Julian can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Blinding Lights is pretty stable and selling more than Bad Habits by this point (which is probably still falling off a bit), so unless something huge is released I guess it depends if Blinding Lights can hold off Wham! and the Killers for decade-end number 1 Edit: nvm Julian got there first lmao
  11. One Dance... Really
  12. Why does Mitski do so badly on Apple Music
  13. Surely some blame has to lie with the label too? They could get it added if they wanted right?

I think it’s important to keep some sense of what’s actually popular and being consumed within the year. You can’t just make up a chart with arbitrary rules because you don’t want to admit that songs like Mr. Brightside and Perfect have continued popularity. (Although tbf the OCC do that every week) That said I don’t get why they don’t publish a top 200 in order to give more information on songs from the year which missed out as a result of older stuff’s popularity, especially when overall sales are higher than ever
  15. Comparing her debut to her thank u, next or 7 rings debut is pointless imo. Market is so much bigger now than it was in 2018/2019 so the numbers should be significantly higher by default
  16. Ariana's stalled at #4 on Apple. Also at #4 in the US but behind two new 21 Savage songs. Other New stuff: D-Block Europe (#21, #38, #57, #64, #68, #71, #76, #82, #125, #175) 21 Savage (#39, #45, #50, #52, #70, #79, #97, #99, #189) #86 Ella Henderson feat. Rudimental - Alibi
  17. Nah I don’t think so. No way Ophelia would’ve made the top 100 on ACR this week
  18. Head & Heart gains a relatively significant advantage having been released in 2020 so has had longer to accumulate sales. And yes on Bad Habits, although Blinding Lights was released in December 2019 so close enough imo, remains to be seen if As It Was or anything else can catch Bad Habits if we’re excluding Blinding Lights
  19. #758 +5 The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York +4 Sam Ryder - You're Christmas to Me +3 Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree +2 Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You +1 Wham! - Last Christmas -1 Ed Sheeran & Elton John - Merry Christmas -2 Noah Kahan - Stick Season -3 Andy Williams - It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year -4 Michael Bublé - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas -5 Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me #759 +5 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor +4 Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer +3 Billy Gillies feat. Hannah Boleyn - DNA (Loving You) +2 cassö, RAYE & D-Block Europe - Prada +1 Dua Lipa - Houdini -1 Drake feat. Sexyy Red & SZA - Rich Baby Daddy -2 Noah Kahan - Stick Season -3 Tate McRae - greedy -4 Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me -5 Tyla - Water
  20. I stand corrected, Ophelia did indeed receive a reset, well done OCC. Popular also got one but that must have been label requested.
  21. I have attempted to create a rough decade-to-date chart for those who are interested, please take this with a pinch of salt though as it could be wildly inaccurate: #1 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (4.16m) #2 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits (3.52m) #3 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved (2.92m) #4 Tones and I - Dance Monkey (2.73m) #5 Glass Animals - Heat Waves (2.68m) #6 Joel Corry feat. MNEK - Heat & Heart (2.67m) #7 Harry Styles - As It Was (2.53m) #8 Ed Sheeran - Shivers (2.51m) #9 The Killers - Mr. Brightside (2.42m) #10 Wham! - Last Christmas (2.41m) #11 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas is You (2.34m) #12 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears (2.34m) #13 Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar (2.32m) #14 Lewis Capaldi - Before You Go (2.27m) #15 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u (2.26m) #16 Dua Lipa feat. DaBaby - Levitating (2.20m) #17 Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now (2.14m) #18 Elton John & Dua Lipa - Cold Heart [PNAU Remix] (2.12m) #19 SAINt JHN - Roses [imanbek Remix] (2.08m) #20 Ed Sheeran - Perfect (2.08m)
  22. OCC using common sense seems a bit far-fetched
  23. ~18% so not even that close unfortunately
  24. Songs that are more than 3 years old are only eligible for automatic resets if they're not charted in the past 3 years. Riptide charts basically every week at this point so can't get reset unless the label ask for it
  25. Potential resets on today's chart based on this week's Spotify: Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten (+85.3%) Drake - Practice (+29.9%) The Lumineers - Ophelia (+41.1%) [Although I expect the OCC to miss this one] Riptide by Vance Joy was also up 45% week-on-week but obviously that's ineligible
