UK Number 1 Singles by Genre
Hot Right Now was the 1st one but Feel The Love and Waiting All Night by Rudimental came after, and the Sigma ones as someone else said. Maybe others as well, I can't remember off the top of my head. DJ Fresh also got the 1st ever dubstep #1, so he did it with 2 genres! Other dubstep #1s I can think of are Promises by Nero, Stay Awake by Example and RIP by Rita Ora (I know people will disagree with the latter two because they're by pop stars but they are both 140 bpm with dubstep drum patterns and are produced by Nero and Chase & Status respectively, so I don't see why they shouldn't count).

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Lady Gaga did not transfer Stan culture to pop music. Before Lady Gaga existed, people like Madonna and especially Britney Spears had VERY obsessive fans. Even the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis and the various girl groups before her did. Certainly people like Kylie. If you saw what Avril Lavigne stans were doing on YouTube back in 2007 and 2008... Or even Britney stans for that matter lol (LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!!). I don't know why Lady Gaga keeps getting credited for things that happened before she existed? It's ridiculous. Your post makes other good points though.

How do BTS fans have all this money to keep buying their music? Aren't most of them like 11 years-old?

Oldest acts to reach No1 in the Official UK Chart
It's surprising that most of these are quite recent. Almost all of them are 1999 onwards.

All of that applies to Pack Up by Eliza Doolittle but it didn't stop it from being a big hit.

Wow! An iTunes update where I know all the artists for once! :D I used to fancy Hayley Williams, I think I mentioned that on here before.

20 years ago...The Top 6 was all new entries
I agree. I'd put the song up there with Shakespeare and the Bible, and I really mean that.

20 years ago...The Top 6 was all new entries
I think the lyrics in The Bad Touch are exceptional, but I do think the song was mixed... poorly. (I shouldn't say poorly because it's not mixed badly, but it's not up to standard with other pop songs from the time). I wouldn't ever connect this song to the Pet Shop Boys lol. But I see it now.

20 years ago...The Top 6 was all new entries
The Bad Touch is my favourite out of those. When was the last time there was a chart battle between new entries? I know Nice For What and One Kiss were released the same week, but I assume it was pretty obvious at the time that Nice For What would win? I think the problem now is that when there is a chart battle, it's not all or nothing. A lot of the time, like it's Saint JHN vs. The Weeknd, it's just "Who will get one more or one less week at #1?". It's different when there's two (or more) songs and they've only got that ONE chance to reach #1.

Spotify Chart Thread [March 2020]
It's ridiculous and completely over the top. You'd think she was as big as people Ed Sheeran or Justin Bieber or Drake with the way they treat her, but the truth is she's nowhere near. She's not even half as big as them. I would argue maybe not even quarter.

I was expecting Akon and Styles P to be in the charts this year (the latter claims he's had the virus and recovered from it).

Predict: End of decade 2010-2019 early predictions
Reading the first page, imagine if a time traveller came back and told us that Rihanna - Only Girl wouldn't even be in the top 100. None of us would have believed it! :o It's a bit silly really, that song was massively successful (it was released near the end of the year and ended up the 4th biggest-selling song, and one of the songs ahead of it was an X Factor winner's single). I remember how amazed I was at its success in the charts.

What is your favourite year of music in the 2010's decade?
It's really hard to decide, but maybe 2013. I loved the 2013 - 2016 period. 2012 was okay-ish as well. 2017-2019 seem to have been good, but I haven't really experienced these years for various reasons. I've heard some great hit songs from these years though, like Ladbroke Grove, Shape Of You, Cola, Sicko Mode, Piece Of Your Heart, Unforgettable.

Ultimate 90s package
Why do the Teletubbies have so many votes for least favourite single cover? It's PERFECT for what it is. What do you expect? For them to not be on the cover at all? Or lying on the floor with their legs open? Chill out people. It's a great single cover.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 30th August 2019
Haha thanks. That's most of the ones I was thinking of, but I'm sure there were a couple more as well. Yxng Bane did a popular remix of Shape Of You as well (at least on Youtube). On that topic, I like Pet Shop Boys and Robbie Williams - She's Madonna. And on the topic of The Wanted, there was a question about their song "I Found You" on The Chase a few weeks back! I knew the answer, but the guy there got it wrong lol. It's a good song, but you can draw a straight line to it from: Stereo Love -> On The Floor -> Glad You Came -> I Found You.

Post Malone has songs named after him now?! It took about 6 years for that to happen to Rihanna (although to be fair, she's had like 5 of them now).

Cardi B admits she ‘drugged and robbed men’ as a stripper
I saw that video clip. I was absolutely speechless, I couldn't believe it. She proudly proclaimed this information to the whole world. And when I say "proudly", she really was proud. She said it as if it was one of her biggest achievements in life, and as proof that she deserves money, fame and success?? "I worked so hard to get where I am today, I had to drug and rob people to get here, my life was so hard" is basically what she was saying. And she was crying in the video and making it out that SHE'S the victim? Absolutely unbelievable, she's one of the most privileged people on Earth, she's one of the most privileged people that have ever lived. Everyone has hardships in life, some people are poor their entire lives, yet don't drug and rob people. In fact, the overwhelming majority of people don't do that, and most of the ones who do aren't proud of it. How would you guys like it if some hot guy seduced you, you invited him to your house, then he refused to have sex with you, drugged you, stole your money and possessions, and then ran away? It's just awful. And she says she's done this multiple times? She's a worse person than Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea combined, and that's saying something.

OCC: Ryan Tedder's Best Selling Singles for Other Artists
But I'm pretty sure it was a single in the end, it was played a lot on Capital (it might have been Galaxy FM at the time). The radio DJs kept mentioning the Halo situation whenever they played it.

Most famous artist without a UK Top 40 single?
Um... surely like Beethoven is more famous than everybody mentioned here?

Alex Gaudino - I'm In Love
The new version is good. It's crazy, it doesn't seem long ago that the original was out.

Global Radio axing regional Capital, Heart and Smooth shows
I actually don't think it will make much of a difference. As far as I know they were playing the same music, it was just the presenters and travel and news updates which were different (and I assume different adverts as well). I'm not 100% sure but I remember years ago I used to check what they were all playing, and the different regional stations were playing the same songs in the same order, even during the peak driving hours.

OCC: Avril Lavigne's Best Selling Singles
If you believe the new Avril Lavigne isn't a body double, then how do you explain the existence of the Hello Kitty? The original Avril would never have done that.

Spotify Chart Thread [February 2019]
What The Hell was probably in the top 100 on Spotify. Unfortunately, I don't think there were any archives from that time, but in 2011 the Spotify charts were generally similar to the iTunes charts, except with hip hop and alternative/rock songs doing a bit better, so I think it's very likely she's been in the top 100 before.

OCC: Avril Lavigne's Best Selling Singles
Because they've become a millionaire from doing so? It was near the beginning of her career that the body double took over, around 2003 or something.
-
OCC: Avril Lavigne's Best Selling Singles
That's because they replaced her with a body double.
