  1. I'm surprised I Need Your Love is getting votes this early on! I'm not too surprised about The Saturdays going. I know they have a lot of fans here, but I see a lot of people complaining about them too.
  2. You make me sound like an evil character from a Disney movie.
  3. lol. Calm down. Lady Gaga is revolutionary and iconic and nobody can beat her, we get it.
  4. The songs in this list are NOT in the order you'd expect. That's the 00's for you really. She has lots of good songs though.
  5. Yeah, Gust Of Wind is awesome, much better than the other three singles imo. I wouldn't have ever expected him to get top 3 on iTunes tbh. If we went back to 2009 and asked people who'd have a longer career, Jeremih or Lady Gaga, I think we know who most people would've said. Forgot if I mentioned this before or not, but I'll mention it again just in case I didn't, in terms of Jeremih sampling old eurodance songs, he had a song with Ludacris earlier in the year which sampled Barbie Girl by Aqua of all things. 353. Jeremih ft. 50 Cent - Down On Me 1154. Jeremih - Birthday Sex 662. YG ft. Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Rich Homie Quan & Nicki Minaj - My Hitta Remix (this YG's most famous song, for those who don't know) 1155. YG ft. Drake - Who Do You Love?
  6. Didn't 5 O'Clock have a really slow start? I remember everybody celebrating about it flopping (since that's what it seemed like at first), then it ended up getting #1 for a bit mid-week. I might be getting it mixed up with another song, but I think it was 5 O'Clock this happened with.
  7. I don't know, although we can use physicals as a model. In 2009 when I started following the charts, the charts were already very similar to iTunes, but I remember in 2009 and 2010 physicals would still boost some songs significantly (boy bands, Kylie Minogue, X Factor singles, etc.), so whilst they weren't really that important by that point, they weren't quite "irrelevent" either. Perhaps by 2029/2010 it'll be similar with downloads 10 years before. They'll be insignificant most of the time, but for artists with strong fanbases, or charity singles, they'll give songs a boost, whilst "normal" songs won't sell much on iTunes anymore. I'm interested to know when record labels will just not bother releasing certain songs for download at all.
  8. Um, well yeah? I'm joking in the present, not in the past or in the future. Maybe it wasn't a good joke, but I wasn't being serious.
  9. I was joking, referring to all my incorrect past predictions about her.
  10. I think Nicki Minaj will be #3 this week, as I think it'll be a bit front-loaded in sales (mainly due to lack of airplay) and Bang Bang will have the advantage with higher streaming. I'm normally spot-on when it comes to predicting Nicki's chart success, so I'm confident about this. Not sure where Jeremih will land. I think #6 or something.
  11. It's still a strange thought though, and puts things in perspective, since people on here have a tendency to label even #1 songs (like I Wanna Feel recently) as flops.
  12. I'm very disappointed Thrift Shops got voted out, especially over I Could Be the One, but I should just be happy it lasted this long in the first place.
  13. As someone else said, it was released ages before. The song was just a very instant hit I guess. I remember the first time I heard it, it was on Radio 1 early in the morning when I was on the way to work. Only took a few radio plays for it to go shooting up the charts (I can't remember if the video was out at that point or not, but either way it increased in sales very fast).

Yeah, it's a good idea, but a lot of the time the songs are going to be long-running chart hits that have been on the radio loads for months already. Happy could feasibly end up at #41 in the next few weeks for example. I think highest song that hasn't been top 40 (yet) would be more interesting.
  15. It's not 2 Chainz's fault, he just needed something to rhyme with "arenas". :kink:
  16. To be fair, Capital has been playing Talk Dirty and Wiggle so I guess they're okay with it.
  17. I Could Be the One needs to go.
  18. I remember Don't Go by Wretch 32 and Promises by Nero were #1 when there were the summer riots a few years ago. Yeah, I guess Wretch 32 is not a favourite, but Unorthodox or Hush Little Baby would've probably been tolerated better as a #1 than Don't Go.
  19. Don't Go is a classic! But it was really hated here when it came out, especially since it's a minimal song released in probably the "loudest" ever year for the charts, it just sounded very out of place, which is why I think a lot of people didn't like it. I think if it was released today it wouldn't seem so out of place, since almost every big chart hit is minimal these days. The main exceptions are Calvin Harris's latest songs I guess.
  20. I think it's been out for a while since I heard it a few weeks ago. The song is okay in my opinion, but obviously it's very unlikely he's ever going to get a song bigger than German Whip, and that song is probably the only reason this is top 100 on iTunes in the first place. Buzzjack would go into absolute melt-down if Bobby Shmurda ever charted. It's less Buzzjack-friendly than Rack City, Don't Go, Ayo Technology, Bassline Junkie, I Wanna Love You, Like a G6 and Harlem Shake combined.

It's not 100% certain this will get #1 (for example, Promise This could've missed #1 had Rihanna performed Only Girl on X Factor the same week rather than the week after), but I think it probably will get there.
  22. It already is about 50/50 overall. In the sales report they usually give the ratio each week. Usually I think streaming accounts for 45-55% of the points atm, but obviously at the top of the chart it's mainly sales that count, whilst lower down streaming has a much bigger weighting.
  23. This song is really good. But will it be a mainstream single?
  24. You should look at the actual Capital FM website as it's much more accurate than Compare My Radio. Compare My Radio is a good site, but I've heard songs on stations before and then checked the site at a later date and they don't get listed.
  25. It's not exactly the biggest stretch though. Professor Green and Arctic Monkeys or Bastille is something we'll probably never see.
