iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 19th April 2015
This is what I wish the chart runs of really big hits would be tbh (i.e. a faster drop). If the song gets played on the radio a lot it'll probably climb back up the charts and become a hit, if not then I think it'll just fall and hover around the lower parts of the top 1500 for a few months then disappear completely. It could also end up a hit if it's used on TV or in an advert or somehow ends up in a viral video.

Love those songs going 3x platinum!

Top 100 Singles/Albums (Combined + Sales + Streaming)
They don't though. Playlists are for when people don't want to have to go through all the effort of choosing a song to listen to every 3 minutes. They just choose a playlist that they think they'll like, and whatever songs are lucky enough to be included will be the ones getting the streaming points. It's not too major an issue imo, it might only be having a very small effect on the charts overall, but it certainly won't be helping new songs climb the charts faster...

Radio 1 Playlist 27-04-15
I don't think that song has any chart hit potential tbh. None of their songs that I've heard so far really do, but No Type had the best chance of them all. Before they released it and I saw they got some famous featured artists I thought maybe it'd become their biggest hit but it's just not catchy enough.

You mean hit after hit like Pour It Up -> Right Now -> What Now? Well, What Now did quite well in the end to be fair.

Top 100 Singles/Albums (Combined + Sales + Streaming)
He means that if something is in one of the top 100 lists (or any high profile playlist on Spotify for that matter), then it'll keep getting high streams because so many people listen to them, which makes it more difficult for new songs to get in, etc. Being in the top 100 gives you extra exposure so more streams, it's a little bit like the top 10 effect on iTunes. It'd be impossible to really test it, but I bet the streaming charts would move a little bit faster at least if people were forced to search for individual songs to play or forced to make their own playlists.

The songs of his I hear the most are Get Busy, Temperature and Breathe. They always get a brilliant reaction too. Whenever I hear him in a club (which is a LOT ) I never know half the words, but I just mouth along anyway and pretend I do.

Mr. Brightside getting its 400th week in the charts. It will probably eventually get 10 years imo, especially since it's always high on streaming.

I was thinking the same about Go All Night while I was typing that out. Surely it was only a few months ago it got released? Personally I don't hear it that much anymore, last time I remember hearing it was in my gym probably around a couple of weeks ago (I just know I'm going to hear it somewhere today now I've wrote that :drama: ). I was always quite annoyed that they put probably the most famous singer they've managed to collab with so far on one of their weaker tracks (in my opinion). I'm not worried for Lean On at all tbh. It's made such good progress so far that I think it's going top 10 no matter what. I don't think it's close to peaking yet.

Ah right! Nice. :D This will probably be its peak week in the charts then, unless it gets play-listed.

Sunday Chart Predictions (Friday Update + Top 5 sales)
Maybe not next week, but Cheerleader could get #1 in 3 or 4 weeks. I know the song has been famous for ages now, but this song is also probably going to be near the top of the chart for months, so it just needs a boost of some sort one week and it'll get there.

They've played Trap Queen on Radio 1 this morning and now it's climbed to #73! :D

How can people not have heard any Major Lazer songs before? You're missing out guys!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 12th April 2015
I think Omi will still get #1. It's clearly going to be a million-seller with huge longevity not to mention the charts move quite slowly now, I think it'll get #1 at some point.

Major Lazer and DJ Snake almost top 10 on iTunes! :D What a fantastic day to be alive. :)

This is probably the case with (almost) every song in the top 40 though.

Lean On is awesome! Like a more chilled out version of Turn Down For What.

Sunday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
I suspect Jess Glynne has the #1. :( Bloodstream did almost get up to 0.9 on pop bars for iTunes, so I thought they might still have a chance, but the gap is widening again. :(

Absolute 80's to introduce Sunday Chart Show
That's honestly pretty cool. If in 20 years a radio station did this for the 00's I'd definitely listen!

Ahhhhh! :( It looks like (Ed Sheeran and) Rudimental might miss #1. :( I really thought they had it in the bag. :(

Daily US Airplay Updates 2015
That's a pretty memorable top 6 for 2001! :o Same for 2006's whole top 10 tbh (Kelly Clarkson's song is the only one iffy one there, but I feel like I'd know it if I heard it). Usher - More is one of the worst songs I've heard in my life. Both the original and the remix (what was the point in them even doing that lol).

Station Charts - 30/3/2015 (From Radiomonitor)
lol. It's normal though, usually you get a few recurrents at the bottom of the Heart FM chart. Also lol @ Rudimental being #1 on Radio 2! :D I assume the station is mainly playing the original version. I can't believe Capital's 40th most-played song gets played 3-4 times a day. :drama: It's such a frustrating station to listen to...

Hooray! I think Ed Sheeran is definitely going #1 next week. I hope so if it gets Rudimental another #1.

I've thought it for ages too. Same with Firestone (well, not 100% sure that is going to #1 especially as it's not been held-back but it was obvious it was going to be a big hit). I wonder why Rihanna's new song has disappeared. Might just be iTunes being glitchy.
