US Hot 100 - 08/16/2014
It's great, but I doubt it's a record, since there were those "British invasions" in the US in past decades which I assume were on a bigger level than this. As for the next one, I agree Ella Henderson will probably do well there with Ghost, but I don't think it's started being promoted there yet, so it might take a whille. The highest on the Bubbling Under chart I think is the acoustic version of Latch by Sam Smith, but I assume since the original version of the song has peaked his cover of it will probably start falling too.

lol yeah. I wonder if/when it'll overtake it. I think it probably will since I can't see Don't missing the top 10, whilst I can't see Thinking Out Loud making top 10 just off Heart FM airplay (or mainly that).

Don't is already back in the top 20! :o

lol this is exactly what I thought when I first heard it, but then I found out that he co-produced it. Whilst I didn't like Wake Me Up very much, I did at least appreciate that Avicii tried something a bit different, but if every dance-pop producer starts doing this country/folk kind of thing it'll get quite annoying. I hope the song is out next week, as it's not THAT high on pre-orders that it guarantees a #1, but if it's out later it looks like it'll get there. :(

Changes in peak position in the top 40 due to streaming
That's not really the issue (at least not for me). Everybody knows the crossover adult contemporary hits will still chart high and chart for a long time. It's just that the charts are slow, but are now becoming even slower. I just wish songs were removed from the top 40 after 20 weeks or something to let new songs get in. Or at least Radio 1 should start playing new entries from the #41-#200 region, in place of songs like Let It Go, Happy, All Of Me, etc. The charts are only going to get slower and slower in the future too as streaming increases its chart ratio. It's almost at 50% already.

Changes in peak position in the top 40 due to streaming
The charts are very slow-moving atm, and all the new releases struggling doesn't help, and just keeps the old songs in the chart for even longer. Where is that Breakers chart the OCC was talking about?

Vic Mensa 'Down On My Luck'
I can't believe the song didn't do better. It had so much going for it. The song itself is pretty good (wasn't that fussed at first but it grew on me over time, especially after hearing it in the gym where there's a really good speaker system). It's as commercial as hell, and while house music seems to be on the decline, it's still an easy way to get a hit at the moment. The song got airplay on Radio 1, and in general I heard it quite a lot the past month. He went touring with Disclosure who are very popular at the moment. I even found out some of my friends have been Vic Mensa fans for a while, so it's not like he's some completely unknown person who only I have heard of. Very peculiar imo.

Amerie - What I Want
I've heard this song so much on the radio. A shame none of the big stations are playing it though.

And with Check It Out, it was probably will.i.am's party that got the song held back as he was also the lead artist on it, so it's basically the first time Nicki has held back one of her songs.

Clean Bandit 'Come Over' (feat. Stylo G)
Yeah, that is a nice song. There have been some UK garage-styled chart hits recently (Naughty Boy - La La La, Disclosure - You & Me, All About She - Higher, Shift K3y - Touch, Dizzee Rascal - Bassline Junkie), so it could potentially do well.

Deepest Blue
I listened to Deepest Blue (the song) quite a bit last summer, mainly for nostalgia reasons.

US Hot 100 - 08/09/2014
To be fair, Judas and Till the World Ends were released when the charts were calculated differently. It was much easier to debut high during 2008-2011 (songs even debuted at #1 fairly often in those years). Now getting a high debut is much more difficult, and it's almost impossible to debut at #1 since streaming was added (only Harlem Shake has done it).

I don't think club airplay has very much effect on the chart, or else songs like Julio Bashmore - Au Seve, Tyga - Rack City, Drake - The Motto, Disclosure - When a Fire Starts to Burn, Rihanna - Birthday Cake, Friend Within - Renegade, etc. would have done much better. And lots of the recent club hits which actually did do well in the charts would have charted 6 months earlier. Wow, this might actually go top 40 after all! :D

I've actually had adverts for the Bakermat song appear on Buzzjack itself in the banner at the top of the screen, and a similar kind of thing on other websites. Also on Youtube I get an advert sometimes for it. I honestly think it's because I listened to the song on Youtube a few times a while ago and now the Internet is putting adverts everywhere telling me to buy the song, so anyone else who listened to the song in the past is probably getting the same thing. I've heard the song on the radio a few times too, but not on a big station (I think it's Rinse FM where they play it).

R&B & Urban · RECOMMENDATIONS
Sinead Harnett - No Other Way. I loved her song with Rudimental (Baby), and this song is great too: FnIoZsD2X84

True, it's not such a big deal if it's a post-album single, but its success was still a lot less than what Pixie usually gets. Kiss the Stars was a post-album single and that got top 10, to everybody's delight.

There was another Pixie Lott single a few years back (called Can't Make This Over iirc) which didn't chart and her career recovered from that.

I don't know. It's not like they hold them back to the next Sunday (which would have some logic behind it), the songs just seem to get released at a random time about 2-8 days after the US release. The label probably just doesn't care very much about their success lol.

It is single-worthy imo, since it's a great song. Hopefully it'll get top 40 on its release week, but it's not looking too likely. It was added today or yesterday on Spotify so probably the same for iTunes. Drake's and Lil Wayne's songs usually seem to get put on UK iTunes a few days to a week late for some reason. Nicki has the luxury of getting her songs on UK iTunes almost straight away nearly every time...

Don't know. But I heard he's producing One Direction's next single, so he'll probably have another big hit as a producer soon. I'm curious as to what it'll sound like though, as I can't imagine Naughty Boy doing a pop-rock track, and I can't imagine One Direction doing an R&B/UK garage/hip hop/dance song.

What's your predicted top 10 of the year?
Yeah, I could see Am I Wrong getting year-end top 10. Rude possibly as well. But we'll have to see how those two do in the long run I guess. Maybe Bang Bang, but I don't think it'll do THAT well. Maybe All About That Bass might be huge.

What's your predicted top 10 of the year?
It's true that there probably will be new songs released which will make the year-end top 10, but it should be mostly songs that exist and/or have been released already. Especially with streaming, as it will favour songs released earlier in the year for a year-end chart. Some years like 2009 and 2010 had a huge number of massive hits come at the end of the year, but it wasn't like that in 2011-2013, so I assume it won't be like that this year either. Here's vidcapper's YTD top 20 to give people are guide: My prediction is something like: 1. Pharrell - Happy 2. Clean Bandit - Rather Be 3. John Legend - All Of Me 4. A song that hasn't been released yet 5. Mr. Probz - Waves 6. A song that hasn't been released yet 7. A song that hasn't been released yet 8. Pitbull - Timber 9. Ella Henderson - Ghost 10. Idina Menzel - Let It Go (I can see it charting for the rest of the year for some reason, but it seems quite unrealistic for a song that misses the weekly top 10 to make the year-end top 10 so I don't know).

Predict: Duke Dumont - "Won't Look Back"
I think #1 because: - His previous two singles went #1, so he has good momentum - The song is very good - The song is high on pre-orders already - The song is released at the peak of this trend (I feel it's started to decline, but it'll still be possible for these kinds of songs to go to #1 for another year or so)

Which UK Female Solo Artist will score 5 UK #1s first?
I think Cheryl. If she releases her next single in time for a performance on week 1 of the X Factor live shows it is likely to be #1. Some people think Black Widow might get #1, but I highly doubt that personally (although it will be a big hit regardless).

Jessie Ware top 500 on pre-orders. SURELY the song is going to get top 40? Chris Malinchak's song sounds like it could go to #1 imo.
