The Olympics - Elite sport, or just sport for the elites?
What a day! Absolutely superb. Scott, you get one life, stop spending it whining and criticising it whilst doing f*ck all. Appreciate the sport or sit down in a corner shouting through the air at bankers.

England vs France
Right. You need to understand. Tactically and technically, this nation is dumb. Fan and player wise. Half of the players on that starting XI have no intelligence, no tactical intelligence and go out there for the 'rough and tumble' game. Hodgson is playing to our strengths. 4-4-2. Strong defence. Strong midfield. Fast wingers. Playmaker. Target man. For those 'oh it's too boring', oh please do one... do you think we can outplay France, Germany, Spain and Italy for 90mins? Tiki-taka? Get off it. We play to our strengths and they happen to be direct football with little passing involved, just a strong defensive shift and counter-attacks. FTR, 1-1 against France is a very good result. I personally think Sweden's defence isn't strong enough and we should at least bag a goal against them- Ukraine will be the big challenge, basically playing away from home against them- and they should be in a position to secure/gain qualification. Hopefully they will go all out for victory and we can counter them. C'mon England!

Need to get: Nordtveit from Monchengladbach De Jong from Twente Good left-back Good support striker Sell deadweight (Henderson, Adam), even Kuyt, as even though he is one of my favourite players- he wants a return back to Europe. Hopefully we can look at European talent instead of our 'BNP' style recruitment style atm. A pretty horrendous season- despite the cups- a 8th (or even lower) finish is just a joke after our funding.

UK economy 'double-dips'
Austerity DOESN'T work. Hollande's socialists will prove this in France I tell ya. Austerity AND a fall in economic growth makes everything worse. Debt at record levels (how very tory) and inflation high so people will feel the squeeze enough without austerity. Economic growth should be priority over balancing the books (which the Tories aren't even managing)...

EURO 2012
My Euro side: Hart Johnson--Richards--Cahill--A.Cole Lampard--Milner Gerrard Walcott--Rooney--Young Wow. We have an horrendous team. Germany to win it- hopefully... maybe England could get Italy/Croatia in the QF's and have a slight chance- but even then I would rank us as underdogs. In the group I think we'll finish 2nd- but if we continue our recent tournament form- then we could easily be at 3rd or 4th. The Ukrainians are strong and beat us 1-0 in 2009- with their fans you can tell they have a good chance. We traditionally don't do well against the Swedes and they have a dangerous side- but I think we can win if we are at our best. And France, well they have looked superb for at least a year now and I can't look past them to beat us (again!).

1st half was quite poor, another sending off and some weak defending. Good long ball tactic employed early though to allow Craig and Maxi to exploit Blackburn. Towards the end it was really nail-biting, but Andy scored his 4th league goal (all away btw!) and that gives us some points to add to our tally.

He was indeed a delight tonight (and on my FM save!!).. Keeper problems and another average performance, but a win, and a big one at that! Get up YNWA!

I think the last week has put everything into perspective.

When will the world realise that austerity is never the way forward. Hollande in France BETTER win the election, then you will see big growth there. Typical tories. You just don't cut during economic crisis- cut steadily along with progressive taxation when the economy is 'booming'. And in the end it's the chancellor at fault- so a big bad no for Mr. Osbourne.

From a L'pool POV- it's obvious that this season has been a failure. Next season my 3 goals are: At least 5th place finish, ensuring a UEL spot, we need some big change in order to get this, as this season we have been a mile off the teams above us. A decent UEL run, and when I say decent I'm hoping last 8, hopefully s-finals or even the final. A much better season at Anfield, 5 wins from 15 at home is so poor. Our 2010-11 tally was 12 wins out of 19 at Anfield was much better, something similar to that, and respectable away form (winning 6-10 matches) would give us a good chance of top 5.

Reina Kelly Coates Skrtel Enrique Kuyt Gerrard Adam Downing Suarez Carroll This is what we need IMO.. We have done much better when Carroll starts than if he doesn't, and I think Kelly should definitely be RB. Kuyt gets in the game and feeds in Carroll and Suarez and it's a winning recipe. In Summer, we need to invest, centre-back and right-back, some solid centre-midfielders and a prolific striker... and hopefully Kenny will (finally) see sense and ditch Henderson. And just 1 day to go... I know this is weird and a bit bitter but I want Sunderland to beat Everton as A, all my mates are Sunderland fans and they are defo my second club; B it would be amazing to see the buzz of Sunderland at Wembley round here; and C, Sunderland pose more of a threat than Everton against the Reds- and of course wanting Sunderland to win so they sabotage NUFC's european hopes. I hope Sunderland demolish Everton- but they haven't beaten the toffees since 2000.

With Carroll starting I think Liverpool have won loads more than without. Still, not £35 mil. I want SAFC/Everton to beat LFC in the semi-final, even as a Reds fan, if SAFC/Everton are in the final against Spurs/Chelski/Bolton and NUFC finish 6th, it means the (dirty) mags don't get europe :)
