  2. If she does sell between 3-4 million this year, then 21 will certainly be a contender for top 5 best selling album ever within a couple of years and then back sales will depend on how succesful her career is over the years afterwards. How do you follow up an album as succcesful as 21 though?.
  3. 29. The Ketchup Song (Asereje) - Las Ketchup 2002 600,000 This has the distinction, I believe, of being the only one hit wonder, that was a tribute song to another one hit wonder('Rappers delight', Sugarhill Gang, 1979)

  5. 21 is predicted to go back to US number one next week. Her sales for that album will have passed a million by then. 19 will have gone platinum. http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news08483

Re Adele. Whats the record for most album sales in a year by an act?. I.e. The sales of all their albums sold in that year added together. Also, what is the yearly sales record for just one album?. Thanks

lol Easy answer, because many people like her music. Someone who can sing really well, no autotune or thrusting pelvis in sight. She's a proper singer, and getting the rewards for it.
  8. Well im 58 and love the Darkness. Noone is asking YOU to understand why. However, here's why *I* love the darkness, as well as all the classic rock bands. Because I LIKE to a great degree the songs they do!!!!. The songs are very well wriitten and excellently performed. I like the darkness for exactly the same reasons I like the classic rock bands I grew up with when I was a teenager. ie I enjoy listening to their music. If you dont like them fine, your opinion, I however think they are excellent. I dont feel like arguing though, you wont change, I wont, we could have little exchanges for ages and in the end you'll still dislike them and I'll still love them.

Adele looks retaking number one again. http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi (link provided because I cant format the data to post for some reason).
  10. The darkness were a great band, I loved their music...far better than the rubbish that passes itself off as rock these days. Great musicians, you know, the type that write most of thier own songs and can actually play live. I saw them a few times and they were great, proper music....I am so pleased they are reforming!!!!.
  11. Ok. I found them on page 2 on the chart vault. :) Maybe they could be pinned in the sales vault?.
  12. I can't seem to find this. the sales vault in archive forum stops at 2009. Anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
  13. Lol, I wonder if anyone will ever beat The Beatles total weeks.
  14. I know, I was comparing to last week when she'd sold 86K at 54% but went on to sell 353K in total. This week with she's on 125K at 54% in. I dont know how they collect the sales though, so not sure if its the same each week.
  15. Hits daily double has Adele at 125,455 with 54% in. Last week she was 86,002 with 54% in, Whats her final total going to be this week??!!...400k+?

105,859 first week sales. So she got the +100K. Well done 25 people (37%) :) Edit lol someone voted since my post....it now says 26.
  17. The predicted total was 250-300K, so yes.
  18. wow, amazing sales for Adele!!!!
  19. Olympus posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Well, Adele is 18K in front of Jessie. If Adele is still selling +150K by Sunday then Jessie should get +100K. When we get some actual sales figures it will be easier to tell. Assuming the ratio of Adeles lead over Jessie's stays the same.
  20. Those figures are exactly the same as the earlier 32% in update though.

Interesting to read this now. Quite a few people were right about Adele doing well , although I dont think anyone quite predicted the massive success she's had.

For those of us who remember the guy, RIP Gary. Great guitarist. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-12377862
  25. Hi. You might also try the harmonic minor scale, sometimes known as the metal scale. Metal bands like Metallica use it a lot. Here's a video demonstrating it
