  2. Amazing for Susan as well, will be over 3 million sales in just 6 weeks!.
  3. Singles. (in no particular order). all my personal opinion of course. :) Volbeat. 'The Gardens tale". Genre defying scandanavian band, a cross between The Ramones and Metallica, with a hint of Beatles and rock-a-billy. T.A.T.U. 'All the things she said'. in amongst all the controversy and staged lesbianism there was actually a very good song. Oasis 'Songbird'. Just a great old fashioned love song. Leona Lewis 'Bleeding Love'. Killer lead single for her first album(The lesson seems to have been forgotten on her second album), great tune, great voice, about the only reality TV contestant I can stomach, genuine talent. Eagles of Death Metal, Only want you'. One those deceptivly simple pounding rock songs that I love. Albums. well, I have only bought ONE this decade!!...lol. So I'll just name that The Darkness - Permission to land. Stuffed full of the type of rock I loved in the seventies. Tongue in cheek spoof or not???, I still cant decide, but I dont really care, the music is great and I love this album.
  4. Yes, I think this would be a perfect choice. My own favourite for the job as well. Really apt lyrics and also an incredbly catchy tune, I actually bought this when it came out in the late sixties. I was only 13 though, but I still like the song now.
  5. Final http://hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi Omg at SuBo. Almost 660k!
  6. Like they did in popstars - the rivals?. have a live show on the Sunday before xmas, with the winner announced at 7.00pm.?
  7. 'Simon says', would be my choice :) Number 2, May 1968.

Latest(8:30) bars show RATM in the lead by 3 to 1. The last bars(posted here at 7.00pm) were actually about 2.75 to 1. so they have increased the lead even more. Joe has to sell a much higher ratio of CD's than Alex sold last year, as if he does 50% then anything over 2 to 1 on downloads in favour of RATM would be enough. As they are now about 3 to 1, he's going to have to shift over 66% in CD's if they keep it up. I wonder if such a lead on itunes has ever not translated into a number one?.

You can download the itunes applet if you have a mac or PC, then you can see for yourself. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Wow, RATM are about, 110% ahead?. Joe will have to better Alex's 50% cd sales if he's to win out.
  11. Olympus posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Thats what RATM needed, this means even if Joe sells 50% physical(like Alex last year), he still wont catch up, assuming RATMs downloads dont drop off against Joes downloads by Sunday.
  12. 100% now in Susan Boyle 582K + 14% http://hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgi

But if the manager of topshop is a major shareholder in Burtons, then he/she will benefit from any burtons success. Simon is a major shareholder in Sony. He will benefit fom any Sony success.
  14. Zero. Yes, as a comparison, almost half of Alex's sales last year in the first week were physicals.
  15. Yes, I mentioned Cheryl earlier, but noone took any notice. Not , by any stretch of the imagination, is Cheryl cole a 'new act'.

I was comparing Alex's 00:00 - 18:00 sunday with Joe's 00:00 - 16:00 Monday. So same time period. well, minus 2 hours, but cant see Joe increasing by that much in 2 hours.
  17. Olympus posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Sorry, yes, about the same time period. Sunday 00:00 to Sunday 18:00 I suppose we need to wait a couple of hours to get a spot on comparison, but I cant see Joe increasing by that amount in 2 hours.

Alex was 400% ahead during the late afternoon of the Sunday. So Sunday 00:00 to about 18:00 the same day.

Shayne sold 742,000 first week, 310K the first day!. Joes Itunes bars are not that far ahead of RATM at the moment(about 15-20% I'd say), Last year at this time, Alex as 400% ahead and never less than 50% ahead during the week. I reckon about 250-300K.
  20. Olympus posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Hmm..this time last year Alex was 400% ahead of the number 2 on itunes, and was never less than about 50% ahead the whole week. MUCH closer so far this year!!!.

The RATM song is on the Epic label, which is part of Sony anyway, so, as was the case last year with Jeff Buckley(Sony owned the rights to that song) , Simon wins anyway. I agree, they(Sony/Cowell) probably start these campaigns themselves.
  22. Cheryl Cole isn't a new act though. She had a hit single in early 2008 (number 4) as a named co-performer.
  23. So SuBo on for another 640K, Andrea 560K??...
  24. I'd agree with Jimmy Page at 2 for studio albums. But live, although he could sometimes be amazing(especially early on, see the 1970 Led Zep albert halls performances on youtube), he was very sloppy a lot of times as well, so I'd mark him down a tad there. I'd prefer Tony Iommi much higher than he is , top 10 certainly, especially live. Anyway, he was one of, (arguably THE) the creators of metal,...so should be higher for that anyway, imo :). I'd put Brian May at number 2. Wonderful guitarist, studio or live, hardly ever makes a mistake. A master of his instrument. Although Jim Hendrix isnt my absolute personal favourite(That's Dave Edmonds*), I'd still agree with his number one slot. A great player and innovator. who inspired so much and created a style of guitar playing that changed the way people play the instrument forever. * Yes, my fav isnt even in the list :(
