this really.. isn't hyping me at all, I feel like so many solo female pop girls are just going to copy Dua's blueprint for a successful era but a disco/dance song does not make it good when Mabel has little to no public personality?? I wish her well w/success but it's rather than dry
  2. should hopefully repeak on the WW charts soon!
  3. my heart stopped i thought their team were releasing an app lmao
  4. there is a part during her first verse that she sorta struggles with, I think it's nerves since Jade/Perrie have always said they get performance anxiety. edit: 3:26 is when her voice cracks, it doesn't sound too bad but yeah it's still an off moment, but hey they're performing with Nicki with basically little rehearsal time, i'd be sh*tting it too there's a few other "bad" vocal performances members have given, but they've never given like an absolute travesty of a performance. a lot of it was from Jesy/Leigh- Jesy pushing her voice a bit too much in terms of her vibrato (her Power belt used to be slightly sharp) and Leigh has had some slip ups with pitch but it's never been a big shocking moment, thank god. Shout Out to My Ex was probs the song that gave them the most difficulty, it's a monster of a song to sing live (even w/miming the chorus) Perrie sounded v tired during the middle 8 and Jesy/Leigh would go off key on their belts (Leigh's "my liiiIIIIFE", there's a really bad one in America but luckily it was Ariana's tour during the opening act so not a HUUUUGE public crowd and Jesy's "you're really quite the MAAAAAN" was axed after 2 failed attempts)
  5. i actually dislike shout out to my ex lol i don't think it's better than wannabe, but i don't think wannabe is the huge insanely good pop song its made out to be, it's just a big song. but yes, me saying that it's odd to constantly come for Little Mix and that it reeks of bitterness when they're constantly brought up in other group threads is better, because I could definitely be worse and make personal comments about SG's talent and so on, but I won't, bc it's not helpful or even nice to read. it's insane that they get away with that kind of talk on a moderated forum or that people have just grown to accept it, very weird behaviour
  6. you're so mad lmaoo reading through this thread.. jeez some of y'all are really bitter and.. odd? so threatened by little mix, you should be happy that a legacy that was laid out by the Spicegirls has been continued for so long and is upheld by Little Mix and that the Spicegirls lit impacted every current girl group & most early 00s female acts instead of mouthing off about how you don't like "shout out to my ex" (as if wannabe is... good lol)
  7. i wish it would break into the top 50 in more locations, but that jump is incredible (especially without the US) it's 51-60 in a few places, hopefully the next few days can push up a bit
  8. the collabs thing was cute at first but now I'm bored of these b/c-list collaborations
  9. Afterglow flopped though (sorta), what's to say this song won't either? the quality of Ed's work doesn't really swing wildly from amazing to bad- so I can't imagine its quality will be different from Afterglow. I'm not gonna say yes they'll definitely beat him, but I think they could battle for #1 as they're slowly gaining all the streaming metrics on their side whilst it may take a while for Ed to catch up. I dunno how well Good 4 u is doing on platforms other than Spotify/Apple but I imagine that's their competition
  10. goodbye salute x
  11. they're at #99 for the most streamed artist in spotify history according to chart masters. look at our pre-streaming era girlies making waves!!
  12. second highest I believe. shame it would've been nearing the top 50 if it weren't for Migos(?)
  13. Mabel isn't going #1 lol, Ed is the bigger threat, he seems to be building it up more than Afterglow and his label love numbers & figures.
  14. tbh I would much rather it climb up the individual Hot Hits playlists that its featured on than TTH, TTH is usually only used for exposure (which is working) and also US charting, but the US doesn't like dance music anymore.
  15. she is getting her ass kicked by this song ):
  16. i've literally never seen a contemporary artist come for little mix, it's always some white fossil from the 80s who appreciates "real music" who makes a nasty comment about them, ultimately it's just an old man coming for 3 young women who have fought for everything they have. little mix could do wonderwall but oasis couldn't do no more sad songs x
  17. I don't even think they need to take their time, in terms of like cohesion Salute is their best and that came together in around 2 weeks. I think they need to focus on a direction and go with it, they all sorta had an idea with LM5 and it paid off in terms of critical success, although w/some duds. Confetti was always intended to be a collection of singles, if they really wanted to they could easily create a solid album in the same timeframe. It's their ambition that was lacking IMO not their timeframe, but hopefully with this relit fire thanks to 2021 we may get another solid album from them.
  18. honestly SO much has surprised me. Sweet Melody going #1 stands out, cause it was so recent. Best British Single is another, that was a MOMENT for them. Their creative stage performances too, I knew they were like a good performance act but the way they used to perform Black Magic in so many different ways whilst going around the US was so creative, I definitely knew from that point they had a LOT more creativity than was led on. Glory Days being #1 for 5 non-consecutive weeks, which is actually.. more impressive considering they got a re-peak at #1 and it was like a good 2 months or so after right? (or like a month n a bit cause it was a New Year/1st Jan week) AND the fact it's the longest charting girl group album, ever. From 2011 to 2019 their entire career was inside the Top 20 and from 2015 - 2018 every single release was Platinum or higher. 5 Consecutive Platinum albums with a sixth on the way and with the exception of 2 singles, they have 27 certifications across their singles discography in the UK. For contemporary pop acts that's a massive feat. Their longevity is another, pop acts tend to get boring and need to constantly redo their image to be exciting again but they've never done this and I'm always so excited to see what they're going to do next? They're pretty predictable for the most part (but even so it's not a bad thing) but there's some parts where they just shock you and it's one of the reasons why I adore them. This turned into more of a "why I love them" but I genuinely think so much of their career has been a moment because of how little my expectations were when they won the XF.
  19. honestly i think it's a REALLY solid album, i really do think that its lack of commercial success at the time (coming off Glory Days) put stans off which is really sad. if they chopped off some of the fat (american boy/love a girl right, maybeee notice) it would be absolutely incredible. maybe if they had another upbeat pop song too, but it really was such a solid girl group album and by far the best gg album in a looong while.
  20. I want this so bad, that would be such an excellent opportunity for their public profile.

this is... a lot lol Mabel doesn't have a big personality or a lot of energy so her music always fall flat, idk if throwing in 3 incredible pop machine cogs can make it work but I will be streaming cos i'm curious
  22. oh that's too bad, even though i'm not crazy excited about this song i'm still perched to hear it, plus it can be another top 10 for them since i imagine it will be the single to push Therapy around its release..
