Perhaps unsurprisingly, a lot more people voted for Charmless Man than on On Your Own. I'm intrigued whether that's mostly because people have only heard Charmless Man, or mostly because people know both and genuinely prefer Charmless Man. For me they should clearly be the other way round, but Blur were less mainstream come the back end of the 90s so I suspect On Your Own is less well known. I'm clearly one of the few who would put that Taylor song in my top 10 of favourite Taylor songs!

Strong top 5. I'd probably prefer to listen to Easy On Me rather than As It Was or BOTA, but given that it's a song you'd associate with 2021 not 2022, I think this top 5 is spot on.

Ugh. I haven't enjoyed anything by Ava Max and The Motto felt like a particularly lazy effort. The love for her music, and for this song in particular, has always puzzled me. Oh well. Don't feel as if any other songs were particularly deserving winners... a weak year for the 20-11 zone in general. Thank you for running the rate!

Potion was second in line for my -2. How two such well regarded artists could combine to produce something quite so forgettable shocked me 😅

Popcorn is fun, have never listened to it in full. Pleased that Blur have done well in this rate, Out Of Time is good but would have said either it or Charmless Man should be the first of theirs to fall.

I was another voter for I Breathe Again 🙈. Echo the comment about Crazy What Love Can Do. Amidst a lot of competition, it might have been my least favourite song of last year.

Walk On is my favourite song from post-1995 U2. That and Kite made for a strong middle of the album. Some other good ones out here that didn't make my votes - Shine, Rebel Rebel, Room On The 3rd Floor, Shackles

Agree re Mountains... a band I love, but with a biggest hit that's far from their best work imo. See also - Muse (Supermassive Black Hole), Bloc Party (The Prayer)

I like the BeeGees and Manics tracks, but fewer big losses in this batch than in the previous one from my perspective. Though the Tight Fit song was quite enjoyable hearing for the first time!

First time hearing that Toccata song - pretty barmy, and in the middle sounds like the grave scene from Alan Partridge. All of which might have brought it close to my votes if I'd known it! Two of my biggish scorers went out in that section. Country Girl, which is ace and was a pleasantly surprisingly big hit. And I Will Come To You, which is a massive guilty pleasure of mine and I'd have been pretty surprised if anyone else had voted for it!

Just listened to the Brian May version - it's gorgeous, would have probably made the +10 to +15 section of my votes if I'd known it

Strong set going out at the 24 point mark. Maybe a little surprised I was the only voter for Johnny Nash. It's my mum's favourite song so I had to include it! I'm only familiar with the Freddie version of Too Much Love... that would probably have made my top 30. Eminem and The Darkness also weren't a million miles away.
