(Though just noticed this vote is only for Lightning II. Can't really imagine hearing Lightning II without Lightning I or vice versa. It would be like hearing one half of Happier Than Ever without the other.)

Arcade Fire is the track of the year so far for me.

Happier Than Ever is in my top 3 songs from last year. Rare these days for something that reaches the UK Top 10 to be one of my songs of the year. But this is just class, it grabbed me on the first listen and still sounds as good hundreds of plays later.

The mere presence of Kiss Me in this rate upsets me. Awful song! Just bought tickets today to see Muse for the 7th time... but think Supermassive Black Hole is their worst song and can't believe it's their highest charting by far 🤦‍♂️ By contrast Don't Tell Me is one of my faves by Madonna. And Adagio for Strings is superb. Would also have given the Barber original or the Tiesto version a load of points.

Was Still DRE not pretty big here, Top 5 I thought? I remember it being released as part of a double act - Guilty Conscience by Eminem feat. Dre and Still DRE by Dre feat. Eminem. Could have sworn they both charted well inside the Top 10. Or am I having a total memory fail?😅

Plenty good stuff still standing in the final 25, but also plenty I'd exchange in a heartbeat for some of the songs that landed between 35 and 26

Nancy Boy and, to a lesser extent, The Bad Touch are big losses. Pleasantly surprised Nancy Boy made it this high though

Will Ed get a reset and/or will this be counted as a "new" single with BMTH credited? If the latter, it'll be as incongruous as Yungblud getting by far his biggest hit by piggybacking on KSI, and Bon Iver on Taylor Swift 😅

What are the tie-break criteria? Looks like Best Friend is equal on points with Runaway but Runaway has a +12 vote so maybe should be above it into 17th?
