I think The Cure is Olivia's best song yet - against some strong competition - but not hugely commercial so would settle for #2 Breath of fresh air to have someone who leans indie having such sustained chart success. This new song reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins!

Thank you King Rollo, fantastic job! A strong top 5 - Robyn or Enola Gay would have been my preferences to win but all would have been worthy. Interesting to see how much changed (including my faves tanking) between the first round and the final.

Thought In The End had a chance of winning based on glancing at the scores as they came in... but 5th place feels more about right to me. I preferred Greenday's earlier stuff - was (and still am) shocked that they won the #5 poll - but I guess this shows it was no fluke. (The American Idiot fans have stuck around since the #5 poll but the OK Computer fans have disappeared since the #4 poll..?)

Ain't Nobody is a classic of its genre - not a genre I'm hugely into so didn't score it very high personally, but still appreciate its excellence. Agree with others who don't have Yesterday anywhere near their favorite Beatles songs. It's never really done anything for me

Try is my favourite Pink song and pleased to see it so high here. Just Can't Get Enough is also excellent though not quite in the same league as Enjoy The Silence. I didn't really know the Eurythmics song until this rate but really enjoyed it so gave it decent points.

Agree with other commenters about the epicness of Smack My Bitch Up and Fat Of The Land in general. I remember it being just fully skipped and barely referred to on the Radio 1 top 40 show (they just say something like "at number 8 it's a new entry for the Prodigy and now at number 7 it's..." - very rare for the 90s when they had a much looser bar for censorship

My list of least favourite Muse songs correlates closely with their list of highest charting songs 😅. This is fine, but compared to most of the rest of Absolution, pretty mid. If only Stockholm Syndrome or Butterflies and Hurricanes had been the lead single... 😍

Heard that Bebe track for the first time today. #41 is at least 200 places too high. Reminds me of that absolute car crash Ella Henderson made of Children recently, or Ava Max made of Shakira. Please stop 😅!
