Did you ever notice how every summer one artist or another seems to emerge and completely capture the mood of the time? Last I reckon it was a flip between David Guetta and Lady GaGa, well I’m going to stick my neck out right now and wager that this year it will be Andrew Rosborough. I just discovered this dude lately and he’s just got this style that is so completely NOW that I don’t see anyway of him possibly failing to be the biggest thing out this year. If you haven’t heard him yet you really need to get yourself a copy of Andrew Rosborough and The Umbrella Parade and just bask in the greatness of his tunes. His music reminds me of guys like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz but in saying that he really is so much more than that, his album is incredibly diverse, every song offers something really different to the last and when it comes to an end you really get the feeling of knowing something about how this guy thinks and feels. For me the best songs are things like Victim and Hole in Your Soul but this is in no way an album with just a few good songs and a lot of space filler, every song is really well crafted and I can imagine that each person who listens to it will be soon to find their very own favourite tune. Well I have said my bit, the point is that you need to do yourself a big favour and get onto Andrew Rosborough right now. You can hear a lot of his tunes for free at his Myspace but to get the real effect you wanna go out and buy The Umbrella Parade.
