No Spice Girls reunion for 30th Anniversary - can we discuss this??
The fact they have only released 3 songs and done 60 tour dates in 26 years is wild. It’s pretty shocking a music act of their caliber has done so little for their legacy.

No Spice Girls reunion for 30th Anniversary - can we discuss this??
Melanie’s recent comments pretty much confirm we are probably not going to get any unreleased tracks going further. It’s a shame they don’t feel the need to expand their discography or give the fans a few outtakes. At this point we can hope some unreleased tracks leak in the coming years.

Melanie C - 'Undefeated Champion'
Melanie picked the right singles for the last album, but this time around she’s back to her old habits of choosing the wrong singles. I feel Melanie should be releasing something experimental and different since she knows she’s not going to get any commercial success in terms of singles. She’s playing it too safe with these new songs.

Melanie C - 'Undefeated Champion'
I agree. All 3 songs so far pale in comparison to the last album. It’s kind of shocking these are the best tracks she can get with the amount of work she’s done with raising her profile.

Melanie C - 'Undefeated Champion'
That one minute preview does not sound good. Melanie continues her streak of picking the wrong singles.

Favourite lead singles from their Debut solo albums
Look At Me is the clear winner. It’s bombastic and makes a statement. The music video amplifies the song to higher heights. The death of ginger spice. What Took You So Long is in 2nd place. Emma’s voice fits the airy guitar pop sound like a glove. It’s a shame she didn’t record more songs like it. I do give Melanie C major props with picking Goin Down as the lead single. It was a bold choice for a single. It’s too bad most of her career has been hindered by picking safe and middle of the road singles.

Melanie C - 'Sweat'
This album roll out has been a drag. It needed to be much more concise. Her team should be releasing new content every few weeks to keep fans engaged. Three months in-between single releases doesn’t work for Melanie when she doesn’t get much radio airplay or added to streaming playlists. Something along the lines of this would have been much better. Jan 2: Sweat (song and music video) Jan 30: Sweat remixes Feb 27: What Could Possibly Go Wrong (song and music video) March 27: What Could Possibly Go Wrong remixes April 17: 3rd single (song and music video) May 1: Sweat album June 19: 4th single (music video) July 31: Deluxe edition of Sweat album (Contains 3 new songs, remixes of the 3rd and 4th singles and some acoustic versions of album tracks/singles). Unreleased Songs Appreciation Thread
It would be nice to have some of the better touch era songs officially released in HQ, but it will never happen. The group didn’t co-write any of those songs so there’s no financial gain with the tracks.

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
There’s probably much more songs in the archives than we know. It’s a shame the group won’t release any of it. The 25th anniversary editions gave us barely anything.

The girls didn’t co-write any of the Touch songs.

Unreleased Songs Appreciation Thread
The DenDen elite person who originally leaked the snippets of the Eliot Kennedy tracks said the title was If It’s Loving On Your Mind. When the tracks leaked in full the leaker revealed the actual title was Give You What You Want. Then years later the song was registered on ASCAP as What You Want. Interesting note is Pain Proof and A Day In Your Life are not registered.

Unreleased Songs Appreciation Thread
My two favorite unreleased tracks are Melody of Life and Give You What You Want. The registered title for the latter is actually What You Want. https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/ace/search/workID/907727844 What You Want has that classic late 90’s pop sound that I love. The lyrics are definitely missing Geri’s touch, but overall it’s pretty good. The melody is great and the song is catchy. Melanie C’s bridge is chef’s kiss. Melody of Life has a lot of attitude and is catchy. It definitely feels more like a Spice era song than a Touch era track. Tim Laws wrote Melody of Life and Sugar & Spice. Not surprising the same writer wrote these as I think they are much stronger than the majority of the other touch songs. Mel B recorded 4 tracks with Biff for Hot. Lullaby Eyes On You Rush Miss Me All 4 are written by Richard Stannard, Richard Norris, Melanie Gulzar, Julian Gallagher. The other 3 songs are registered on this German music publishing site GEMA. It’s pretty safe to assume I’ve Got My Eye On You is actually Eyes On You. https://online.gema.de/werke/search.faces

Spice Girls & Solo - Expectations and Wants for 2026
Probably the group, especially Geri wants final cut of the documentary to control what the film covers. That’s probably why the project hasn’t been able to get off the ground.

They just can’t get their act together. They could attract a whole new generation of fans if they put some effort into their legacy. Off the top of my head…… 1) Dive into the archives and get everything sorted out so it’s available in high quality: pictures of photo shoots, unreleased music, tour footage, videos of old interviews, etc. Their social media should not be using low resolution pictures or videos. 2) Get the Spice World movie on a popular streaming service. 3) Release a documentary which focuses on the impact of their music. Interview current singers, etc. A key point of the documentary should showcase how much creative input they had with their music. 4) Release a few of the best unreleased tracks on some sort of compilation album. Get a few popular producers to remix a few of their singles and maybe some fan favorite album tracks. 5) Commit to doing a world tour. They would probably gain a ton of interest in their music just by touring countries they have never toured before. 6) Release a documentary which focuses on how their fashion choices made such a cultural impact. Release a comprehensive coffee table book which contains high quality scans of all their photo shoots. The book should include unseen pictures of famous photo shoots. 7) License more of their music to movies, TV shows and commercials. 8) Make a biopic movie.

At this point it doesn’t look like we are getting anything this year. If they don’t release Woman on some sort of compilation this year, I highly doubt they will ever release it. A career spanning compilation album or updated greatest hits with a rarities disc would be the best home for Woman.

Spice Girls • General Discussion
That entire 17 minute video was an eye roll. No valid information was discussed. I can understand artists who have huge music catalogs forgetting certain details here and there, but Emma…..the group only has 31 album tracks. It makes a lot of sense now why we got so little for the 25th anniversary editions.

Forthcoming Spice Girls Documentary
They can still focus on their image and major chapters in their story with incorporating how the music was created. The one thing their legacy is missing is music credibility. The main reason why they left Heart management in early 1995 is because they didn’t like the material they were being given. A true manufactured group wouldn’t have been able to leave like they did. It’s so frustrating as a fan because most casuals think they didn’t write their own material. It also would be interesting to hear their take on all the merchandising deals they did which eroded any music credibility they had.

Forthcoming Spice Girls Documentary
A new documentary shouldn’t be a repeat of the giving you everything documentary from 2007. The new documentary should focus on something new. My suggestion would be to focus on the music and the record label/music industry politics. They should highlight their songwriting, which has never been done before. It would be great if the new documentary could give the group some music credibility for once instead of always focusing on their image and style.

Melanie C - What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
It’s mid. The chorus is a bit clunky and the ending of the song is flat. Sweat is better in my opinion. I’m not really feeling this new era

Victoria Beckham • General Discussion
The most single worthy ballad on the album is That Kind of Girl. It’s the most radio friendly and it is a great slice of rnb pop. IOU is a good ballad, but I don’t know if the general public would have been interested in consuming it since it’s so directed towards David. A Mind Of Its Own is good album material, not a single. The speaking vocal verses are not good. Those parts have always bugged me.

Melanie C - 'Sweat'
You guys made some good points. It’s not fair to compare Melanie to Robyn.
-
Melanie C - 'Sweat'
I like Sweat, but it’s time to move on to single number two. This remix should have been released a month ago. Three months in between single releases is too long for Melanie. She doesn’t have a big enough fan base to support that marketing model. Releasing a single every 2 months would be better. Sweat only has 1.5 million streams on Spotify. That’s not that great especially when you compare it to other recent smaller pop acts like Robyn or Hilary Duff. Dopamine 8 million Mature 9 million

Spice Girls - Album Tracks, Bsides & Others RATE - RESULTS FROM PAGE 3!!
Both rates show Give You What You Want is the best unreleased leaked song. Hopefully one day it is properly mixed and mastered and gets a release on some sort of compilation album. It seems like most die hard fans want uptempo unreleased pop songs so it’s not surprising Feed Your Love got a lukewarm reception.

Thank you Mr X for hosting this rate. I’ve had a lot of fun. I thought it would be interesting to compare this rate with the Popjustice forum rate of the group’s discography in 2018.
