  1. This is more likely to happen than the girls releasing unreleased tracks. :(
  2. Of course a song being on a playlist is going to factor in the amount of streams it has. A young person is far more likely to discover a legacy artist on a playlist than actively searching for them on their own. A record label has to choose what past hits they are going to push on playlists. They can't promote every single a particular artist has released in their career. Yes, Madonna has a ton of well known hits, but she also has many "forgotten" singles as well. Spiceboy listed 25 of her singles that he thinks are well known. Madonna has released over 70 singles in her career.
  3. I agree with you to a certain extent. Spotify is a good indicator in which songs of a legacy artist has stood the test of time. Just because a single was a big hit back in the day, it doesn't mean it will find an audience decades later. For example, look at how many "forgotten" singles Madonna has.
  4. There's only 4 solo songs on Spotify that have over 20 million streams (When You're Gone, I Turn To You, Never Be The Same Again, It's Raining Men). Matter of fact, they are also the only solo songs which have over 10 million streams. None of the Spice Girls album tracks have over 10 million streams. Melanie C could justify having a 7 or 8 minute solo set.
  5. This thread has been interesting to say the least. This would be my ideal setlist to appease the general audience. Act 1 1. Spice Up Your Life 2. Say You'll Be There 3. 2 Become 1 4. Stop 5. Never Give Up On The Good Times 6. Mama Act 2 7. Move Over 8. Who Do You Think You Are 9. Too Much 10. If U Can't Dance 11. Holler 12. Goodbye Act 3 (Melanie C solo) 13. When You're Gone with Bryan Adams 14. I Turn To You/Never Be The Same Again medley Act 4 15. Wannabe 16. Viva Forever
  6. Odd is subjective. Something could be completely odd to you and normal for me. Why do some fans feel comfortable telling a woman what is and what isn't acceptable to wear? It's her body. She can wear whatever she wants in her YouTube videos.
  7. Women are much more criticised for what they wear than men. Using Hugh Jackman as a comparison is disingenuous. All of this comes down to fans being upset Geri doesn't act or dress like she did 20 years ago, which shows how toxic some fans truly are.
  8. I can't at gay men getting upset over what a woman wears. Who cares if Geri likes to wear white. A man telling a woman what to wear is sexist. How do Spice Girls fans don't get this?
  9. UMG and the girls would be crazy not to release something this July to capitalize on the 25th anniversary. The girls are going to be trending everywhere. This would be the perfect time to test the waters with a "new" song. I believe it would be the perfect time to release Feed Your Love. After all, it was the first song the girls wrote and recorded. It would make sense to release it on their 25th anniversary.
  10. Love this post. Imagine the possibilities Rarities album Remix album Ballad compilation album Christmas album or EP Spice deluxe edition Spiceworld deluxe edition Forever deluxe edition These releases would garner them more fans. It would also spotlight some of their incredible singles and album tracks which deserve more attention. The group is so much more than just Wannabe.
  11. Exactly! I'm sure UMG would love to milk the fans if the girls allowed them to. There's plenty of ways UMG could expand their discography. Let's be honest here. The girls will probably never be seen as a credible music group with only 3 albums and one GH. Not to mention one of those albums the girls themselves disown. The girls have a huge opportunity to gain new fans by expanding their discography through compilation albums and anniversary editions.
  12. Love these ideas. Hopefully we get most of these.
  13. We'll get a 25th Anniversary Wannabe pink bracelet and that will be it.
  14. Universal Music Group probably doesn't push their catalogue on Spotify because they have no incentive to do so. They're probably okay with pushing Wannabe and that's it. UMG would probably be more inclined to promote their catalogue if the girls were more open to the idea of expanding their discography through compilation albums and anniversary editions.
  15. At the very least they can official release the Wannabe demo as heard in Spiceworld in July. Then hopefully we get an anniversary edition of Spice in November along with a summer 2022 tour announcement.
  16. Stating the obvious.
  17. Get more music out? It's not like the standard edition of the album filled up a whole 80 min CD. The deluxe edition was a total cash grab.
  18. I never said she didn't need multiple formats. She didn't need a deluxe edition when the original album only had 10 tracks.
  19. It's Melanie and her team's fault for producing too many deluxe album copies. She didn't need a deluxe version in the first place.
  20. A one off Christmas song or an EP is a good idea to test the waters. Heck, releasing Feed Your Love as a buzz "single" to promote an anniversary edition of Spice would be a good idea. The girls definitely need reassurance there is still an audience for new material. Let's hope they dip their toes and get that reassurance.
  21. There's plenty of things Universal Music Group could do to expand their discography if the girls let them. Why would UMG invest in increasing the group's streaming numbers when the girls themselves are not willing to play ball? It's so frustrating.
  22. Honestly, almost half the album is b-side material. Superstar, Don't Get Any Better, Passion, So I Give Up On Love and Surrender Your Groove does nothing for me. Can't believe 100% Pure Love and Set Me Off were left off the album.
  23. I agree, the Ian Masterson and Hannah Robinson tracks are the best on Passion (Love Never Loved Me, Let Me Love You More, There's Always Tomorrow). I would love to hear the two unreleased songs they did for the album (Disco Sister Music, Geri's Got Her Groove Back).
  24. A ballads compilation album like Something To Remember would be a no brainer. Include 2 or 3 unreleased songs and fans will buy it. Easy money for the girls and Universal Music Group. 1. 2 Become 1 2. Mama 3. Too Much 4. Viva Forever 5. Goodbye 6. Let Love Lead The Way 7. Headlines 8. Angels 9. Treasure 10. A Day In Your Life They could tack on Oxygen and Time Goes By if they wanted to make it a 12 track album.
  25. I'm surprised the girls haven't cashed in on a ballads compilation album. Universal Music Group probably would milk their catalogue if the girls didn't have veto power.
