  1. Here's the video where Mel C talks about Spice Is Back. @ 9:30 mark
  2. I really want to hear Spice Is Back that they recorded for the GH. Melanie C said it was great in a fan interview from a few years ago. The song has the same vibe as Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life. It was written by all 5 girls and Mel C's guitarist, Greg Hatwell.
  3. Who I Am Blame It On Me Good Enough Overload In And Out of Love
  4. It would be awesome if they acknowledged some of the album tracks from Forever.
  5. She only asks once in the radio edit haha
  6. The official radio edit of IYWHSF is much better than the album version.
  7. Spice definitely has a more raw, edge to it. Most of the tracks are sexual or have sexual undertones. Mama sticks out like a sore thumb on Spice. Mama would fit better on Spiceworld. One of my favorite lyrics on Spice is "So climb aboard my journey deep inside. Better late than dead on time." Obviously the girls are talking about a man not "erupting" too early while having sex. So dirty, I love it.
  8. Oh no! Geri doesn't act like the pop star you want her to be. Oh no! Geri is a devoted wife and mother. How terrible!
  9. Desperate housewife image? What a slap in the face to all the hard-working housewives around the world. What is the obsession with gay male Spice fans who want Geri to dress and act like she did in her 20's?
  10. Rainbow Woman is written by Geri and Daniel Meskell. Meskell also co-wrote Angels In Chains with Geri.
  11. USA imports was probably only a couple of thousands. There's no way SIYWGF sold a million. Maybe shipped, but not sold.
  12. Version of Me worse than This Time? This Time is the queen of MOR. Version of Me and Melanie C are not too different in sound. Melanie C has more stand out bangers than VOM.
  13. I still believe if Victoria was featured on a Calvin Harris or a Zedd track, she would get a semi decent hit on curiosity alone. Especially if the track was a total bop.
  14. I never said she will be a streaming artist, but she has to try and adapt with the times in order to grow her fan base. Relying on Radio 2 airplay to get a few casual album sales is not a sustainable strategy in 2020. Selling 10,000 - 12,000 copies in total of an album is nothing. Especially when you're an independent artist who has to pay for everything out of your own pocket. The bottom line is Melanie is not going to grow her fan base by using old music industry strategies from the 90's.
  15. Sales? It's 2020. It's all about streaming. The majority of Melanie's fan base hasn't adapted to streaming. This is hurting Melanie's Spotify algorithm, which prevents her from being added to any Spotify playlists. At the end of the day it's all about touring. Melanie not being exposed to a younger generation on Spotify playlists will keep her fan base stagnet. Melanie can only do a limited amount of tour dates with a small fan base.
  16. With the streaming era an artist builds towards an album release. It's better to release 3 singles before the album and one afterwards. Streaming doesn't allow for multiple singles after the album release.
  17. I stand by Numb being the first single from VOM. With a fresh and exciting music video, Numb could have garnered Mel some new fans. Sure, it probably wouldn't have been played on Radio 2, but it would have been a good introduction for the new era.
  18. I wonder if Version of Me could have been more successful if they would have applied the same release strategy as her self titled era. In 2016 streaming was the new norm. Melanie's team released Version of Me with a outdated release strategy. In hindsight they should have done Numb (May) Anymore (July) Room For Love (September) Version of Me album (October) Dear Life (November) Before 2020 Melanie's monthly listeners on Spotify was 500,000, which was terrible.
  19. What does everyone think about this leaked track from Hot? It was written by Mel B & Biff Standard. There's another 2 unreleased songs on publishing sites. Both written by Mel B & Biff. They are called Rush and Miss Me.
  20. Melanie C: Twenty Five Released in October 2024, celebrating 25 years as a solo artist. Disc 1: The Best Of 1. When You're Gone 2. Goin' Down 3. Northern Star (Radio Edit) 4. Never Be The Same Again (Single Version) 5. I Turn To You (Hex Hector Radio Mix) 6. Here It Comes Again 7. Yeh Yeh Yeh (Radio Edit) 8. Reason 9. Next Best Superstar 10. First Day Of My Life (Radio Edit) 11. Think About It 12. Weak 13. Anymore 14. Dear Life 15. Room For Love 16. Who I Am 17. Blame It On Me 18. In And Out Of Love 19. New Song 20. New Song Disc 2: The B-Sides 1. Angel On My Shoulder 2. I Want You Back 3. Follow Me 4. Something's Gonna Happen 5. I Wonder What It Would Be Like 6. Love To You 7. Like That 8. Living Without You 9. I Love You Without Trying 10. Wonderland 11. Knocked Out 12. Everything Must Change 13. Runaway 14. Fragile 15. Already Gone 16. Stop This Train 17. Cruel Intentions 18. Stronger
  21. High Heels
  22. I really like the idea of a Singles/B-Sides collection. Prince released one when he was alive and it was fabalous. Causal fans will buy it/stream it for the singles, but will discover some hidden gems with the B-Sides. Maybe for the 25th anniversary of Northern Star in 2024 she can release this collection along with a vinyl release of Northern Star.
  23. Her social media team is not doing a great job. They should be posting on Twitter and Instagram everday. Melanie also should have been on TikTok this era to try and reach a younger audience. She has done a lot of press interviews and her social media never shares those. As a fan, you have to find those on YouTube yourself. Melanie is doing her career a disservice by not engaging on social media more often. Sorry if this sounds too negative, but there's always room for improvement. This has more to do with her team than Melanie herself.
  24. What was interesting visually about it? I can't think of anything. It's one of her worst music videos. She is just standing in front of a cheap green screen the entire time. Unpopular opinion alert, The Sea is somewhat overrated. I can't wrap my head around how so many fans dismiss Version of Me and rank The Sea above it. The Sea might have higher highs than VOM, but overall the latter has better production and is a stronger body of work. Take away the top 4 tracks from The Sea and what's left is very hit or miss. My favorite songs from the album would be Drown Weak Enemy Think About It Burn All About You
  25. This Time is a terrible album. Like you said Sammy, she was chasing that FDOML high. There's a few good songs from that era (Already Gone, Understand, Forever Again, Out of Time). Most of the rest are trash. The Moment You Believe is a good song as well. In hindsight it would have made for a better Spice Girls greatest hits single than Headlines. My main problem with This Time and Beautiful Intentions is the production. The songs sound like they were produced on garage band by a first time producer. The majority of the songs from those albums sound like demos.
