  1. Love this Jay. Very interesting. Thank you for posting this info.
  2. Think About It was her big comeback hit and she spent nothing on the music video. Terrible release strategy with the song. I'll never understand it.
  3. Mod Edit: Above quote taken from Melanie C's chart topic, I thought it would be better for the 'The Sea' chat to continue in this topic instead, so I've moved the posts! The Sea deserved so much better, but her marketing team made some horrible decisions. There was no hype for the album. The single choices were all wrong. Had she built momentum towards the album release, it definitely would have gone top 20. This strategy is exactly why her 8th album has done so well. Imagine Burn (May) Think About It (July) Drown (September) The Sea album (October)
  4. Good Enough then Into You when she releases the deluxe on Spotify and iTunes
  5. I'm so happy for Mel. She deserves all the success with this album.
  6. Most fans have a negative view of Reason because it was a commercial failure. It's also a more laid back, chill album. Spice Girls fans were expecting Northern Star 2.0 and were disappointed that wasn't the case with Reason. There were plenty of mistakes made with the Reason era. The track listing, the single choices, Mel's image, etc. Had those things been correct, Reason probably could have sold half of what Northern Star did. Instead, it sold a measly 100,000 copies.
  7. Give me that dark, moody Bond song. Something in the same vein as Take Me Home.
  8. Yes! Justice for Reason. So many great tracks during this era that doesn't get enough love. Love To You is one of my fav from this era.
  9. The Wannabe remake music video is a stupid idea. Thank the pop Gods it's not happening.
  10. A top 5 debut would be amazing. Fingers crossed!
  11. I really hope Mel can hang in the top 10. She really deserves it. A #11 or #12 would be heartbreaking.
  12. A very solid album. The only song I'm not really feeling is Escape. Overload and Good Enough deserve music videos.
  13. Like That is my favorite song on the album. What a bop! Victoria should have played into her posh, rich lifestyle persona instead of marketing herself as a down to Earth woman with a naughty side. Not Such An Innocent Girl was a terrible single choice. Victoria was 27 years old and married with a child. Did anyone really believe Victoria was an innocent girl? Come on......

We'll probably get one new song and it will be worse than Voodoo.

I really hate this animated feature film idea.
  16. I agree Sammy. A rarities album is a no brainer. It would help expand their discography. A rarities album would probably garner more attention than deluxe editions of the three studio albums. This would be my ideal tracklist. 1. Spice Is Back 2. Wannabe (Spice World Version) 3. Step To Me 4. Feed Your Love 5. Say You'll Be There (Spice World Version) 6. Walk of Life 7. W.O.M.A.N. 8. Who Do You Think You Are (Morales Club Mix Radio Edit) 9. Outer Space Girls 10. Likely Stories 11. Spice Up Your Life (Morales Carnival Club Mix Radio Edit) 12. Take Me Home 4 previously unreleased songsSpice World movie version of Wannabe, Say You'll Be There & Who Do You Think You AreStep To Me - released for the first time outside of Europe and Japan3 highly regarded B-SidesSpice Up Your Life (Morales Carnival Club Mix) - used on the 2019 Spice World tour
  17. You can turn this statement around on the girls themselves. They claim they are protecting their legacy by having high standards with what they release. Fans have been begging for years for unreleased songs. Yet you have Melanie C saying, "B-Sides are B-Sides for a reason." Pretty much every legacy artist under the sun has released outtakes on deluxe editions of albums.
  18. Fingers crossed she manages to sneak in the top 10. She deserves it.
  19. I'm so excited. The clip sounds better than I remember. Overload wasn't one of my faves while listening to snippets of the album.
  20. Can you imagine Madonna or Janet Jackson remaking one of their iconic music videos? The idea is so tacky.
  21. I agree with you Sammy, but the difference between those legacy artists and the Spice Girls is their discography contains more than 3 albums/31 songs.
  22. Remaking the Wannabe music video will get a ton of headlines and views. I have no doubt about that. By doing so it would continue to perpetuate Wannabe as the only song they are known for with non fans.
  23. I have mixed feelings about remaking the Wannabe music video. It's unnecessary and not very creative.
  24. Mel B really could have thrived as a solo artist from 2003-2007 when rnb and hip-hop was dominating the charts. An album in the same vein as Nelly Furtado's Loose would have been great for Mel. Imagine her singing Maneater or Promiscuous.
  25. I poked my head into The Spice Circle and the reactions are cringe. They may have changed their name, but it's still the same DenDen.
