Padam Padam ● 1st single
I think the BBC must have had to pay to use Padam in the episode tonight, because damn didn't they make the most of it!!

Confessions II ● 15th album
Her best album in 20 years, I've read. Which largely means her best album since COAD. I am so ready... And my CD has been dispatched so it's coming...

Friday Chart Predictions
So to get the record of non-consecutive weeks at No.1, Rein Me In needs to get to 19 weeks to beat the 18 of I Believe? So 5 more weeks yet. And Last Christmas is on 12 so needs another 7 weeks to reach the record.

EastEnders
I'm just amazed someone didn't just so happen to be hidden in a cubicle so they could overhear. That being what EE usually relies upon.

EastEnders
Never ever would a parent burn something their children had made. Ridiculous scene. Max spends all episode scared that Priya was going to blurt out that he'd slept with her, and then he goes and does her in the women's toilets in the local pub where his engagement party is happening? Do me a favour!! But Oscar's speech... Saved it all

Snow Patrol & Kylie - These Alarms
Have only listened once and it's not feeling as good as I wanted it to be.. Seems okay, but probably not something I'll be going back to very much.

Confessions II ● 15th album
I Feel So Free couldn't be anywhere else on the album than first song... it just makes perfect sense. with the opening line of "Thanks for coming..." But Good For The Soul is second looking at the tracklisting? And then One Step Away, To be honest, I want to hear the full versions of the songs I have already heard previews of so I think having those songs at the start is a good move. It will take everything in me to not skip straight to Danceteria and listen to that first before going back to the start. But I want to hear it as a continuous mix.... I really hope this is a success for her. There will be so many people who will cry "flop" regardless and do things like compare first week sales to COAD (217k sales) and ignore that we live in a very different album sales climate these days. Just an increase on Madame X will be a plus though.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 26/06/26
For all the complaints about the OCC rules and what they do "wrong", it's actually Spotify that feels pretty broken. So using the example of Rein Me In, it stays high on playlists because it's high in the Spotify charts so popular, but it's only there because it's so high on playlists. How is it supposed to decline in plays if it's so prominent. And then new songs don't get a look in. Benson Boone should not be missing the Top 200. Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter should not spend one day in the Top 200 (I'm aware it briefly returned) Jade should not have been ignored after Angel OMD. Yes, I am using my faves as examples, but they're the ones I have noticed most. Just seems so... Obvious? But then, who cares about the charts anymore (apart from us!) Also... Aware I have said on another thread that the Top 10 looks okay this week, so I feel a bit contradictory... But the lack of new music is quite worrying.

To be honest, that Top 10 is kinda okay. MJ movie is on streaming and Harry is on tour so they both deserve a boost. Couple of reasonably recent songs reaching new peaks. The rest are pretty fresh... Except RMI and MIN which, to be fair, are the most listened to songs in the country right now. Not actually much to complain about.

Benson Boone - The Time of My Life
Why any record company would spend that much effort on a music video and then not push enough for it to be able to make the Spotify Top 200 after NMF for a brand new single is a little baffling.

Is he usually insta-added to R1 playlist? Noticeable (to me, at least) that he wasn't on that.

Confessions II - First Week Sales
I've gone 30-39k, to put my expectations a bit low. She has like a million variants so it should do well, but you never know.

Madonna & Graham Norton • special episode coming on BBC1
Yes, I thought this was really good and so much better than the Madame X interviews I saw. She was a little stiff to begin with but once with Stuart she seemed to relax. It also came across that she was friendly with Kylie. Though I still don't think she's on the album. It was good to see some back story and clips from Confessions 2. I wonder what's the "bigger" tour stuff in the summer? Release Danceteria soon. It's soooo gooood!!

Benson Boone - The Time of My Life
Oh this is goood. The video is awesome, and maybe that helps lift the song, but that itself sounds pretty good on first listen too. As much as I prefer an uptempo Benson song, I'm still very much so here for this (and not for someone else 😆)

sombr - My Body Isn't Ready
Heard this on Radio 1 this morning on the way to work. My thinking was it was okay and all that, but nowhere near the level of some of his previous singles. Anyone else getting Gary Barlow singing vibes from the opening to the first verse.

Snow Patrol & Kylie - These Alarms
So Chris Martin wrote Light Up, and now a collab with Snow Patrol. I'm happy with a Pop/Rock direction next...

EastEnders
Billy sending a voice note? Would Billy give his phone to Honey if he knew there was "deleted message" showing on it? Would Billy join a dating app to cheat when it's almost guaranteed someone else nearby would be on the same app? I see we're relying on Honey not thinking that deeply when presented with all that info... But in reality... And bread ending up on the floor was much more iconic than a Billy doll head!!

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts of the 1990s
Gina G did the impossible and had a decent chart career for a while past her debut being a Eurovision entry. This really did not happen often unless you were a winner. It was good for her and nice to see at the time. Even now, Ohh Ahh has a lasting love for it.

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts of the 1990s
I was surprised to read D:Ream had 9 Top 40 hits... until I read that The Shamen had 15!! What..? How..? When..? I'm off to Wikipedia to see if I can remember any of them apart from Things Can Only Get Better and Ebeneezer Goode.

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts of the 1990s
It's weird to see S Club so low, but I forget the started so late in the decade. Same with Jason, but his hit making days were gone quite quickly and it was only Joseph which proper saved him in the 90s. Never liked En Vogue. Just really not my thing.
