Song Covers SoundClash #34
Defo Limp Bizkit. The Oasis cover sounds very pedestrian.

Actual thought this was a joke until I saw the clip from @Liam S .

Thanks, @Julian_ And there was me believing everything I read on Wikipedia 😉

According to Wikipedia, Wonderwall is the biggest selling #2 with paid for sales. Combined sales with streaming etc included it is, surprisingly, All of Me by John Legend.

It's certainly Billie's BEST hit ever!!

Bank Holiday Monday chart toppers in the UK charts
I'm not sure anyone would have ever thought to make a list of songs that were #1 on Bank Holidays. There are so many of them and it doesn't hold much accolade. I might be wrong though. Of course, back in the 80s, for example, shops were shut on BH's and sales the week after were usually lower as a result (not that that would have made a difference to the BH No 1)

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Love Electric Youth. Best Debbie Gibson song. Deserved Top 10 Forgot all about Neneh's Manchild. That's a great track. Every Little Step is a tune, but Bobby Brown seems a bit of a div, to be honest.

Don't artists sometimes push their album release dates back to avoid other big names and to give themselves a better chance of a week at #1? Are they all "obsessed with the charts"? Don't artists ship physical formats early sometimes to maximise their chart position, or release remixes to avoid ACR? Are they "obsessed with the charts"?

JADE - THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY! • 1st Album
Just a thought... If it was only "a few weeks ago" that Jade finalised vinyls, doesn't it take months to press vinyls? And if that's the case, wouldn't it be logical that the release wouldn't be yet anyway? Or is that just me coming up with an excuse for the delay?

Bedtime Stories ● Survivor Round 3
I'd Rather Be Your Lover. Then it starts to get really tough!!

Chart Battle Rewind: Leona Lewis vs Take That
Leona. Rule The World is a brilliant song and one of TT's best, but Bleeding Love is just immense.

I never really look through the Spotify charts as I tend to just read the Highlights posts. I can't believe how old most of the songs are in the Top 10. Let go, people!!

The Posters' Chart: 20th April 2025
Diminishing returns, but still repeaked with a climb back to #19 😃

The Final: Year End Survivor #112
Colour me surprised that this is closer than I thought it would be. C'mon Keane!!!

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
The arrival of Rosette. Great pop music, of which The Look is only the beginning. Impressive sales for Kylie there.

How Bad Do U Want Me ● 4th single
This is very near the top of my faves on the album, so glad it's getting the single push. It's very Taylor, but that's no bad thing. I hope it does well.

The Final: Year End Survivor #112
Everybody's Changing. Which genuinely is one of the best songs ever recorded. It won't win... But it gets my vote.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Ooh, I liked I Want It All. This was the time where my brother was very much into Queen, so I listened to their songs through him playing them quite a lot. Edelweiss is bad, isn't it? I thought it was something I enjoyed, but having a listen today, it's only the signing bit that samples ABBA that is really listenable.

Addison Rae - Headphones On
Just had a listen to this and it's really good. Definitely reminds me of Erotica, but thinking it wouldn't have been out of place on Madonna's Bedtime Stories.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Liking all the newies this week. Hand On Your Heart is a decent Kylie track. Requiem is good, but their next single is better. Beds are Burning I had forgotten about, so it's great to hear again.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
There isn't a lot to say about the newies here. I listened to The Cure to remind myself, but even that didn't spark much attention for me.

ROUND 1: One Direction Solo UK Top 10 Hits Survivor
This is insanely difficult from the outset. Narrowed it down to For You and Back To You. Went for Back To You in the end.

Song Covers SoundClash #33
Madonna. I know there was some criticism around her "butchering" the lyrics of the original, but I think it's great. Plus, it was the first song I ever did Karaoke to and people thought it was great 😃
