Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 04/04/25
Again I am not surprised by the Ed fall. It's how things are these days with so many new tracks regardless of who you are. I raise an eyebrow at the Miley drop out of the Top 200. A few weeks ago we were hoping for Jade's FUFN to be added to HHUK to keep it in the charts, but it seems even if it had been it may still have immediately disappeared.

Anne-Marie - If You're Looking for a Reason to Key Your Ex's Car
I always liked Anne Marie (Ciao Adios is brilliant) but these latest songs are not doing it for me. I think it's the styling and the titles. It seems a bit brattish (and not in the Charli XCX way!)

I think #7 is respectable enough for Ed. It's likely to drop second day though, isn't it? So waiting to see the fall from that. Didn't Ariana's twilight zone go in mid Top 10 and then crumble. Isn't Ariana quite a massive name as well? Though I know it was only a deluxe for her, it was still a brand new song. More surprised at Miley, and disappointed too as it's a brilliant song. Hope that can climb.

Chart Battle Rewind: Geri Halliwell vs blink-182
At the time, I probably was rooting for Geri. These days, Blink 182 is considerably better.

Pop Track of the Year 2025: Quarter One
Okay, so now I've been able to edit my vote to do three.... Benson, Gaga and Jade's FUFN.

Pop Track of the Year 2025: Quarter One
Bum! I didn't read the title properly and only chose one! DOH!

Pop Track of the Week
I so thought that I would be voting Ed this week, but the Miley track pinches it for me!
-
Miley Cyrus - End of the World
This is lush. So get the ABBA comparison. Just when you think Ed Sheeran has the best new song of the week, this arrives!!
-
Ed Sheeran - Azizam
Yeah, this is really good and should easily take Ed back to the upper reaches of the charts, if not No.1. Catchy AF and lives up to repeated plays

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Shocker. Deserved so much more!

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
In the minority here as I didn't like Fine Young Cannibals at all. Nothing they released really. Loved a bit of Duran, but they had defo dropped in quality by now and I had lost a lot of interest. Liked Neneh Cherry as well, but I preferred Kisses on the Wind, which I can't remember if it made the Top 10 or not.

Loving that Journey South managed to sneak in one vote!! 😂

How many solo albums have you heard?
I bought Harry's Fine Line and Harry's House. The latter is the better. Have heard his debut once. Bought Niall's debut, which was good. Haven't heard any of the others. I would like to listen to Liam's as his music style actually quite interested me (but obviously not enough to listen as yet,!)

Calling David Guetta!!!

Ed Sheeran - Azizam
Although I think Autumn Variations was a passion project, I can't see how Subtract was as it was the final part of a successful series. Not sure why it misfired, but suspect it was just Ed-Overload by then?

Will be Martine out of these two

The Final: Year End Survivor #110
I have to say Gaga. I love the song

JADE - FUFN • 3rd single
As soon as I heard the title I thought it was a risk having the expletive right there in the title. The clean version is much better. I had trouble asking Alexa from the start to play FUFN. Was okay but not until 2 weeks in. I had to ask to "Play Jade's new single '.

Alok x Kylie - last night i dreamt i fell in love
Yeah, increasing its daily sales, but 5k might just be out of reach. It's lower today than I thought it would be so not holding up much hope for Top 100 anymore

Song Covers SoundClash #21
I listened to about 2 seconds of that Journey South thing before confirming what I already knew... Mary J Blige. Now if it has been Pet Shops Boys' Where The Streets Have No Name....

Round 6: Year End Survivor #111
Flip & Fill now
-
Round 3: Year End Survivor #112
Ja Rule for me. Just because it's the track I'm least familiar with

Alok x Kylie - last night i dreamt i fell in love
An extra 2,000 would put it on near 7k which was enough for Top 75 last week I think
-
Alok x Kylie - last night i dreamt i fell in love
Hmm... If it managed to scrape together 5,000 sales, would that make Top 100?

Pop Track of the Week
The Ariana track gets better with every listen.
