Living for Love ● 10 years on
Not the best Madonna lead single. Not a very interesting video. Followed an album of singles that didn't make the Top 30. Think it was released mid-week. Disastrous Brits performance. Not playlisted by Radio 1. I think it did well to go as high as #26.

I have seen a few videos on TikTok using Live to Tell today and hearing that it is "going viral", so guess that's very much the reason.

Benson Boone - Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else
This and Abracadabra are certainly my fave songs at the moment. Benson keeps growing and is such a bop. Good to hear on the radio in the car as well

What's your favourite "pink" top 40 hit?

EastEnders
Jumping in on the Cindy return discussion, I thought her return was good as well, weaving in with the Knights, who were also reasonably new at the time. Even when she started the affair with Junior it was okay. I remember her giving a look as she walked away from him at the beginning and you could see she hadn't changed her spots. But having the big Christmas Day storyline of being whacked over the head, only to spend weeks going around accusing everyone in turn and then for it to be revealled as Kathy seconds after Ian had revealled it was Peter was just a bit of an "is that it?" moment. I don't know what else they can do with her character though, apart from have her sleep with one guy after another and try to kill Ian now and again.

What do you want to be the 4th MAYHEM single?
How Bad Do U Want Me would be a good shout. The songs earlier on the track list are already getting the bigger streams so might run out of steam before becoming a single

March 14th 2025 Releases
Chappell for entering and peaking the highest. I'm keen to hear it, but looking forward to Jade more. Not that fussed by any of the others.

Tension II Survivor - FINAL ROUND
Lights Camera Action. I really was convinced that this would be a hit for her. 1 week in the Top 100 on its first run really wasn't enough. The video is one of her best for a long time.

JADE - Frozen (Madonna Cover)
This was #29 (I think) on the Big Top 40 so heard it in full in the car on the way home from Barry yesterday. It is an outstanding cover version. Love it

Abracadabra ● 3rd single
Shame it didn't quite hold Top 5, but five weeks Top 10 and a sixth almost guaranteed, this is quite the achievement!

United Kingdom · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Umm... It might be a grower? Have listened to it a couple of times and genuinely just not that keen on it. The all-over-the-place style seems like someone took the Girls Aloud Biology / Jade Angel of my Dreams song writing book and gave it a try and came up with something not as good. Like Space Man before it, it could just blow up and be great and have a sterling performance... but to me it just doesn't feel there. And the title feels like it's supposed to be something like... We just performed at Eurovision - What the HELL just happened? We just won Eurovision - What the HELL just happened? We just got NIL points - What the HELL just happened? (you get my drift...)

The 1975 - TBA
I just think that back in 2019 they were riding a wave of popularity with Brit Awards, headlining Reading and Leeds and R1 Big Weekend. If I wore a The 1975 t shirt I would get random people telling me they were their fave band. It just doesn't seem as "big" now for them, but that probably just comes with how long they have been around now. I would love for them to still go out and smash it!

Mad'House... Which isn't dissimilar to the Madonna remixes of LAP.

The 1975 - TBA
I always look forward to The 1975 releasing new music, but despite the Glastonbury headliner slot, they do appear to have lost some of their appeal I think. Yes, there is usually at least one major commercial radio friendly hit each era.

JADE - Frozen (Madonna Cover)
Hoping someone puts this on YouTube. It sounds awesome from the preview. The original Frozen is over 6 minutes long, but it looks like Jade has got it down to a 2020's time of 3 minutes!

'Rebel Heart' • album discussion
Rebel Heart is actually one of my favourite Madonna albums. I would choose it over her debut, Like a Virgin, American Life, Hard Candy, MDNA and Madame X. Maybe even Confessions (don't shoot me!) It's a bit bloated and songs like SEX are just not worth the time... but there are so many great songs on it. The title track is incredible.

Bedtime Story ● 30 years on
Great song... and the remix that was promoted as a single and played at The Brits made it more commercially viable. It was good to see her back in the Top 10 after Take a Bow ridiculously misfired in the UK (what is that all about?) and surprising that she followed her longest No.1 ever in the US with her first in years not to break the Top 40. The video is spectacular. For an album that I didn't think much of at the time and a song from it that I didn't consider the strongest (I was even losing a little interest in her) I now love the collection and am so pleased that it (and Erotica) are getting the love now which they missed out on in the 90s.
