The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Wait... What?... Kylie's debut album didn't just sell a bucket load on its first week and go straight in at No.1? I am shocked I tell you!! Locomotion is a bit poop. But not as poop as The Only Way Is Up (which is Come on Eileen levels of overplayed 80s annoying!!)

Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 5
Oh... I'm going to have to go for Like a Virgin now. It's not a song I go searching for and I often skip it when listening to her collections. It probably won't be the one to leave this time though

Pop Track of the Week
Close call for me between Tom and Cat, but Tom gets my vote (even though it's far from his best)

First and Last Number 1s
I Should Be So Lucky - because it's just fun and where it all began. Whereas I never really liked Slow. And Kylie because it's not a ground breaking album but it doesn't try or want to be. Whereas Tension II maybe tried a bit too hard to be an album of Padams.

Abracadabra ● 3rd single
Yeah, listened to this and watched the video and it's pretty awesome. Loving this era so far. Music and visuals that only she can do perfectly.

Tom Grennan - Shadowboxing
This isn't a bad song, though Tom has done considerably better and the rappy-talking bit at the start is ill-advised. But the bit that erks me the most is "I'm shadowboxing myself". I thought shadowboxing was boxing without an opponent, so the "myself" bit is not needed.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
The thing with both Bros and NKOTB is how they were so ridiculously massive and adored and then how quickly it all faded. No spoilers, but neither of them stayed in the Top 10 for long. My fave NKOTB song is Call It What You Want, which stalled around #12 I think.

90s Top 10 sales- Week By Week- 1997
That Ant & Dec song is not half bad, you know. Basic as hell lyrics, but catchy as...

JADE - IT girl • Promo Single
I think to go from the major success of Angel and all the massive media coverage of her solo career and her being heralded as the true solo success from Little Mix, to having her second single spend one week Top 100 must mean something went amiss somewhere... And that could just be Midnight Cowboy.

Sam Fender - People Watching
Just discovered the video exists... and has Andrew Scott in it!! It's a good watch and Andrew is captivating as always.

Material Girl ● 40 years on
MADONNA: "Do you think I'm a material girl?" The CROWD goes wild!! MADONNA: "Well you are WRONG! I'm not a material girl... ... I don't need money, I need love!!"

Round 8: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
Robyn for me again. Murder and Stan are just too good.

Material Girl ● 40 years on
I go between loving Material Girl and finding it a bit too cheesy. I nearly always skip Like a Virgin and often I'll keep going and move out this one as well. But actually, it's the first song by Madonna that made me actually take an interest. I can remember seeing the video when I was young and thinking she was amazing. Then my brother bought my the Like a Virgin album for Christmas and the rest is history. So it's far from one of my faves, but it is a great song, the video propels it and it played a very important part in my love of Madonna.

Defo the best Bros song. But yeah that performance on TOTP. The "enthusiastic" dancing leading Matt to either forget to mime or where his microphone was!! Lol!!

Sexyy Red & Bruno Mars - Fat Juicy & Wet
So I actually heard this on Radio 1 earlier. Only the tail end of it, but it would appear they change the word "pussy" to "cookie" and they're calling it "Fat & Juicy" (I guess because adding "Wet" makes it too suggestive).

Round 1: Year End Survivor #106
I'm going to say it quietly, but I actually quite like the Westlife double-a. Knew it would be fave to go first though.

EastEnders
No way at that Kathy dubbed line. Never seen it before and it's just ridiculous.
-
Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 4
Love Don't Like Here Anymore is good, but not quite as good as the others.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I really like Got To Be Certain. The video - especially with the jerky carousel horse - was quite cute. Really like where she's in the off-the-shoulder black dress. She looks great. Never liked Perfect and still don't. S-Express is good and obvs Blue Monday is brilliant.

The Final: Year End Survivor #104
Love Generation for the win!

Sexyy Red & Bruno Mars - Fat Juicy & Wet
I listened to this out of interest and had to Google the lyrics to see if what I thought I was hearing I was actually hearing. There isn't really a single lyric that could be played on the radio. It's the kind of song that I don't really get, so a pass from me.

Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 3
Stay out next.

EastEnders
I had such hopes for Callum and Jonny getting together. Far too obvious though.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I would have guessed at Mary's Prayer being a couple of years earlier than 1988. Kind of forgot it existed though, so nice re-discovery today of that one. I would say that A Different Corner was always George Micheal's best ballad. Take away Freedom 90 and it could have been considered his best ever song. But I think Father Figure seemed a little boring for me and One More Try ever more so. Just listened to it with fresh ears and it's good, but it's far from his best in my opinion.

The Traitors UK • Series 3
I cheered when they murdered Joe. Not sure I've ever been happier to see the back of a contestant on this show ever... Though I would have been quite happy to see the back of Leann too, especially when she kicked off later about the two-faced part of the challenge. To quote Series 1 of Big Brother... "It's only a game show... it's only a game show!!" Shame that Minah went and she looked genuinely devastated at her banishment. Freddie's reaction to learning Charlotte was a Traitor was priceless. I think Charlotte is being clever, but too clever, and I have a feeling it will trip her up. The new power is intriguing and yet annoying as well. Stop messing about with the already perfect format!!
