  1. So it Love Is All Around sold more than half of Wet Wet Wet's 3.3million singles, and Goodnight Girl spent 4 weeks at No.1 and must have sold a bucket load as well, the remaining 17 of the UK top 40s must have sold quite badly. Robson and Jerome are evil. Thank God they stopped after 3 singles. And look at Steps, eh. Gotta love it 😀
  2. Don't we all...
  3. Must try harder...

"Oh Ian... No-one's going to want you in their gang." Cackled and clapped!

This is giving me vibes of that time a poster on here said that people were talking about "Ordinary" down the pub. 😂
  6. I'm not sure I've heard a lot of these, but just because it's giving me Peter & Katie vibes, let's go for Beauty and the Beast
  7. Deeper Shade of Blue is up there with Steps' best. Love's Got a Hold... isn't great, but would take it every time over Stomp
  8. Stomp - which made #1 and yet is up there with their worst singles. Lee can't even be arsed to mime in the video. Or Better The Devil You Know - It's a Kylie song, not a Steps one. Shut up! Tragedy is actually a great cover that deserves to be remembered as it is. Shame Heartbeat is Double-A with it (now there's your bad video!) 5,6,7,8 deserves a higher chart peak for it longevity!
  9. Here's an observation. Make of it what you will... I was watching breakfast TV this morning and Frank Skinner was on it. They asked him about Three Lions and he said he still loved it. Then he said he had been told an interesting stat that he's had more no 1s than David Bowie, as he's been no.1 four times. He pointed out that his were all the same song and it was an injustice... But it made me look up the evidence... Three Lions has been no 1 THREE times, and two of these were non-consecutive on its first run (so not four times). David Bowie has had THREE solo no 1s and two more in collabs. So really, FIVE no 1s. So where did anyone get the stats that Frank Skinner had four no 1s and that was more than Bowie... But it was believable enough to be mentioned on TV this morning...

Ooh... Burna Boy being the new Wyclef Jean and helping Shakira to get a UK No 1!! 🤣😉 I really hope Choosin Texas doesn't make #1. Remember when it spent weeks at #35 or something? Shoulda stayed there!
  11. Ooh, I loved Janet Jackson. Like her brother, she released so many singles from each album and loads of those were massive in the US - I think she had 5 or 6 #1s over there just in the 90s - and I think they all just got thrown out here as well with diminishing returns or varied success. She wasn't Madonna. She wasn't Whitney. But she was Janet... Miss Jackson if you're nasty!! 😉
  12. Only time I ever heard it played was when it was Track of the Week on Going Home. I looked through the schedule one day of everything played on R1 and couldn't see it had. I know BYL was off after 2 weeks, but that was because of Big Weekend. I've not known any other act to be removed so quickly unless it's "Tracks from..."
  13. With Danceteria getting a 3rd week Top 100, tracks from Confessions II have spent more time Top 100 than any Madonna studio album since Hard Candy Confessions II - 8 weeks (3 tracks) Madame X - 1 week (1 track) Rebel Heart - 4 weeks (1 track) MDNA - 7 weeks (3 tracks)
  14. Let's say that DJ doesn't sound like a Steps song, but it does sound a bit S Club, but not to the calibre of what they would have released as a single.

If you asked me to name the feature on Shakira's Hips Don't Lie I woulda been stumped!!
  16. The Corrs Kids by MGMT is one of the best songs ever, so that has to win!!
  17. DJ isn't bad, in a S Club 7 b-side kinda way

Oh... And who takes their phone out and videos it? Nugget. The same character that made such a big deal over Will videoing his seizure.

I don't like to slate the young actors on the show, but that was really really awful. The attack on Joel was actually horrible to watch, but them coming bit by bit to sit down whilst that music played and the rest up to the doof-doofs was like a 15 year old film student convinced his mates to help him with his coursework. Individually, and with adult actors to prop them up, they are okay... But as an ensemble it was bad. And that was broadcast primetime on one of the biggest TV programmes in the UK.
  20. It's pretty awesome to be able to listen to a Madonna album in 2026 and for it to be this f-ing good. When I heard she was doing Confessions 2, I just felt she was setting herself up for a massive fall when it ended up being "not as good as the first one", but she and Stuart Price have really pulled the goods out of the bag and made an almost non-skip album (not sure I am ever going to seek out Betrayal to listen to). Regardless of the inevitable "Grandma" jokes, and a half-time show that has not been kind to her (or anyone else who performed), this is becoming the best Madonna era to be following since at least Hard Candy.
  21. I didn't like School on first listen. It's now one of my faves on the whole album. Definitely a grower!!
  22. Although I would have preferred Danceteria, the spoken verses wouldn't have worked quite so well in the show. Music makes sense with "...makes the people come together", but it would have been great if it had properly transitioned into Danceteria and the dancers had done the choreo. Still, her in the tunnel was both awesome as a show piece and disappointing that she spent about 10 seconds in the stadium.
  23. I know it's a 26 year old song which was played for about 90 seconds at the start of the show, but was no-one at all moved to download Music?

Cackled at the pole dancing in the community centre. It was tacky, but hilarious. Not sure when Linda became so invested in the centre though, past doing a couple of sober dance classes. I like Mark, and I can deal with the gangsta stuff (even the writers calling a criminal "Sonny") but I don't like the affair stuff with Lauren. I'm not sure that even given her form that she would be up for it when she's just been through all the Jimmy being blind stuff. She's got enough going on at home. I'm a no to Joel as well. Something will happen and probably quite soon where he saves someone from something and all will be okay. But the fact his temper is still very much showing will stay with the character. It's just classic soap opera writing.
  25. Ooh... I was expecting it to be down to something like #31 today so quite shocked it's still #10. I guess two top 40 hits and two songs making the R1 playlist is a bit of a help, but it's just a decent album which is getting prolonged attention past week 1, which is awesome for a legacy act album in 2026. Can Danceteria get an unexpected third week Top 100? Hope so.
