Material Girl ● 40 years on
MADONNA: "Do you think I'm a material girl?" The CROWD goes wild!! MADONNA: "Well you are WRONG! I'm not a material girl... ... I don't need money, I need love!!"

Round 8: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
Robyn for me again. Murder and Stan are just too good.

Material Girl ● 40 years on
I go between loving Material Girl and finding it a bit too cheesy. I nearly always skip Like a Virgin and often I'll keep going and move out this one as well. But actually, it's the first song by Madonna that made me actually take an interest. I can remember seeing the video when I was young and thinking she was amazing. Then my brother bought my the Like a Virgin album for Christmas and the rest is history. So it's far from one of my faves, but it is a great song, the video propels it and it played a very important part in my love of Madonna.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Defo the best Bros song. But yeah that performance on TOTP. The "enthusiastic" dancing leading Matt to either forget to mime or where his microphone was!! Lol!!

Sexyy Red & Bruno Mars - Fat Juicy & Wet
So I actually heard this on Radio 1 earlier. Only the tail end of it, but it would appear they change the word "pussy" to "cookie" and they're calling it "Fat & Juicy" (I guess because adding "Wet" makes it too suggestive).

Round 1: Year End Survivor #106
I'm going to say it quietly, but I actually quite like the Westlife double-a. Knew it would be fave to go first though.

EastEnders
No way at that Kathy dubbed line. Never seen it before and it's just ridiculous.

Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 4
Love Don't Like Here Anymore is good, but not quite as good as the others.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I really like Got To Be Certain. The video - especially with the jerky carousel horse - was quite cute. Really like where she's in the off-the-shoulder black dress. She looks great. Never liked Perfect and still don't. S-Express is good and obvs Blue Monday is brilliant.

The Final: Year End Survivor #104
Love Generation for the win!

Sexyy Red & Bruno Mars - Fat Juicy & Wet
I listened to this out of interest and had to Google the lyrics to see if what I thought I was hearing I was actually hearing. There isn't really a single lyric that could be played on the radio. It's the kind of song that I don't really get, so a pass from me.

Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 3
Stay out next.

EastEnders
I had such hopes for Callum and Jonny getting together. Far too obvious though.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I would have guessed at Mary's Prayer being a couple of years earlier than 1988. Kind of forgot it existed though, so nice re-discovery today of that one. I would say that A Different Corner was always George Micheal's best ballad. Take away Freedom 90 and it could have been considered his best ever song. But I think Father Figure seemed a little boring for me and One More Try ever more so. Just listened to it with fresh ears and it's good, but it's far from his best in my opinion.

The Traitors UK • Series 3
I cheered when they murdered Joe. Not sure I've ever been happier to see the back of a contestant on this show ever... Though I would have been quite happy to see the back of Leann too, especially when she kicked off later about the two-faced part of the challenge. To quote Series 1 of Big Brother... "It's only a game show... it's only a game show!!" Shame that Minah went and she looked genuinely devastated at her banishment. Freddie's reaction to learning Charlotte was a Traitor was priceless. I think Charlotte is being clever, but too clever, and I have a feeling it will trip her up. The new power is intriguing and yet annoying as well. Stop messing about with the already perfect format!!

Round 5: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
I'm sure it's not going to go for a while, but I have to say P!nk as it's the "worst" of a very good bunch.

Round 8: Year End Survivor #104
Girls Aloud for me... As much as I loved them, this wasn't one of their best.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Heart isn't a PSB song I remember very much until I hear it. Had no idea it reached No.1. I'm sure as a teenager I wasn't impressed by Fleetwood Mac, but Everywhere is a tune. Cross My Broken Heart is one of Sinitta's better songs without crossing too far into being a novelty record (like, for example, So Macho was). I liked Hazel Dean, but enjoyed so many of those flops whilst not thinking much of Who's Leaving Who.

JADE - IT girl • Promo Single
I think Radio 1 just really want to get behind Jade regardless of how well her songs chart. Fantasy was played for months despite having one week in the Top 100. But it's odd to playlist a promo single - which I'm sure it will remain now it's dived back out of the charts.

EastEnders
I'm wondering who the next "so insufferable they have to go" character will be. After Nish, it's now Reiss. Who's up next? If it wasn't for characters like Nicola, Priya, Ravi, Denise it wouldn't be too difficult to reach for the off switch these days.

Right Here, Right Now ● 10 years on
I have no recollection of this, so had a listen for what might have been the first time ever. It was okay. Felt a little bit like a standard throw-away Kylie album track to be honest.

The Traitors UK • Series 3
The thought that Joe and/or Leanne could win this is shuddering. Leanne just seems to fly off the handle or get narky if anyone even mentions her name Joe is just horrible. Not a nice person at all. Seems to just not be able to deal with anyone who doesn't agree with him.

Like a Virgin ● Survivor Round 2
Shoo-Bee-Doo now Although Stay isn't far behind. It's not difficult finding the bottom three on this album

Pop Track of the Week
Going for Cher Lloyd... Though Marshmello, Bradley Simpson and Zoe Wees were all promising.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I echo the love for Crash. And also the sadness for Mel. This latest song was nowhere near as good as Respectable and Showing Out and the video not having them in it - whilst understandable - probably didn't do it any favours either.
