I've seen this clip so much and always wondered how any reporter could say ROL and Music didn't do so well. Never considered R&R and GHV2. Maybe she really did just look up Madonna's discography and see those releases and run with it. You don't get past Madonna that easily!

I have been streaming Confessions 2... It doesn't take much to say "Alexa, play Confessions 2 by Madonna." However to download... I would have to do that on Amazon. Would it then be somewhere on my phone? Seriously... Old enough to stream, too old to download...

Reason enough for Wonderwall to now get to the top. Not an Oasis fan, but that kind of classic being blocked from the top by some karaoke torture is ridiculous. Like Vienna being held at #2 because of Shaddupa Your Face.

I really didn't like Madame X when I first listened to it and I still think it's bad. Definitely her worst. Medellin is okay. God Control is the best on the album. I have tried several times to listen again to it and give it another chance but it never works for me. Her interviews were cringe at the time and the less said about the eye patch the better.

"To catch a Bea, you have to set a honey trap." God, someone actually wrote that. I doubt Nicola was convinced even as she said it!

Now at #2 on iTunes. Hoping this surge helps secure it a Top 40.

Does anyone else think that after the absolute BOOM of Danceteria that Read My Lips is a bit lacking and drops the album off a bit before Everything brings it back?

More like I was living in the land of make believe that they would make #1. (It peaked at #8)

Back in 1986, Bucks Fizz released New Beginning on 7", picture disc, picture disc/poster pack, and two 12"s. I bought them all with pocket money as I was 13 at the time. And they all deserved to be counted to get my fave group back in the charts. 40 years later and it's no different. If someone wants to spend their money on variants and that helps to chart, why shouldn't it?

Despite over the years thinking that Like a Prayer, Ray of Light or Erotica are my fave Madonna albums, I really do think that True Blue probably is my overall best. It's got that amazing run of brilliant singles, along with White Heat and Where's The Party to boot. Even Jimmy Jimmy and Love Makes... are decent songs. At a time when she was flying and about to go into the triple whammy of LAP, Blond Ambition and Immaculate Collection, this is the reason Madonna is THE pop star and THE face of the 80s.

Listened to this quite a bit now... DANCETERIA is my fave, but I'm also loving so many of the other tracks. There are influences from Erotica on MY SINS and Bedtime Stories on the vocal of EVERYTHING (which is also a bit Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics). I was surprised by the more down tempo tracks as I expected nothing but dance. FRAGILE is lovely, as is LES GIRL. BIZARRE is a noughties throw back and another fave. Very few meh moments. This is a triumph.

It's great to see Danceteria Top 50 on Spotify. If I be a million percent honest, the NMF placing and the album bomb on Apple did raise my expectations a bit, but if I bring myself back in check, it's a new solo Madonna song on streaming in 2026... #44 is amazing. I am expecting it to leave the Top 200 tomorrow though like BYL did.

I usually hate album bombs on streaming... But I'm gonna enjoy this one as I never expected it to happen!!!

C'mon... You have to be taking the wotsit now... Last Christmas makes #1 each year thanks to Christmas playlists on streaming. But at least you won't mind RMI getting #1 when they release the anniversary pink vinyls.

Seeing those positions for a Madonna album in 2026 is incredible. It may just be front loaded but I'll take it while it lasts!! If she gets a second top 40 from this album it will be the first since Hard Candy in 2008.

I did/am doing the exact same thing - got as far as Love Without Words this morning. It's pretty awesome so far and will comment more later, but I will say that right now DANCETERIA!!! OMFG! This has to be one of the best songs she's ever done.
