Yeah, it's good. But it's definitely pre-album release, but like 2nd or 3rd single kinda thing. So he's done it just right. Azizam was a great choice of lead. As long as Old Phone didn't kill the momentum then this is another Top 5.

ABC were an act I thought I should like, but never really got into. When they ended up with the woman and bald guy in the band, it all started to feel a bit silly. They have the best lyric though with "Can't complain, mustn't grumble, help yourself to another piece of apple crumble."

It took me forever to know that Steve didn't sing Lion Sleeps... 😂 As a Pop Boy they were another fave of mine in the early 80s

I mentioned RAYE as I knew someone would come along and say about her being a successful independent artist. But actually... She had a massive hit with Escapism after it went viral, but none of her other songs have got close. Her album made #2 with 15k in it's first week, which is great but not maybe what people expect of someone who is everywhere and highly regarded. RAYE is successful, and Jade could have that same success, but it won't be with hits rolling in if she is independent. That was the point I was making. Good for her for being so popular and all that with fans and radio and TV. I hope they stream and buy her music!

But she might need "hits" to keep a record deal. And if she doesn't have one of those then she has to go independent. And then she's definitely not getting a lot of playlist support, variants etc. (I know Raye has done well as an independent artist, but short of Escapism she hasn't had a lot of playlisting).

I was just coming here to ask "are we getting another single", so good to see others are asking the same. Whereas Abracadabra is the best thing she's done in years and years, it's time for a new video please.

It was really good hearing the hits from the artists during the event last night. Will get listening to the entries. There's only a couple of songs there I definitely know.
