Cheers Joseph. Its interesting that the OCC have got an automatic system like that in place for album comp streams but won't go to the bother of doing something similar with artist credits for remixes on the singles chart.

Lily Allen was pretty huge in the 2000s and had multiple top 10 hits from her first three albums but crickets when she released her fourth album in 2018. I suppose the signs of diminishing returns were creeping in with Sheezus era though sadly.

I'm no expert on how streams are allocated to GH albums when an artist has multiple, will they be redirected to Gold next week if its pure sales outstrip the new compilation? Or is it up to the label to redirect them everytime they wish?

Well that's exactly the point. Her contemporaries who rose to fame at the same time like Gaga and Taylor Swift are still on top whereas Katy's latest album disappeared into the ether after a single week on the chart. She did fall off quite dramatically from the Witness era onwards. One album wonders are ten a penny but its a bit more unusual for an artist to go from "guaranteed hit" status to struggling to scrape a top 40 within a few years. Nelly Furtado and Jess Glynne are similar examples.

I guess Katy Perry springs to mind first. Huge name in the first half of the 2010s, generally seen somewhere around #45 if she's lucky these days.

Hindsight suggest that's the wrong strategy this time round. With a load of unwaftable stuff actually on ACR this would have been just the right time for an all in first week push that could have got it #1.

Tomorrow's midweeks will make it clearer where Gaga might end up. This chart is very Amazon skewed with Somedays so high and the Gracie songs the opposite way round to Spotify/Apple charts.
