The Official Labour Calmer Steering Thread (mk III)
The 100 more important things wrong with this country and he's going after people being able to smoke in outdoor beer gardens. Do me a bloody favour. There are already significant restrictions placed on smoking, coupled with high rates of additional taxation, its a fair compromise that most people are happy with in its current form, there is no need to change it. In fact I believe tobacco taxation is already ringfenced for the NHS which makes it a better deal than the sugar tax for example which should also be ringfenced for health spending as that is its entire justification. Coupled with the uninspiring rhetoric this week of "things can only get shittier but blame the tories, we're only the ones meant to be in charge of sorting it out" I fear we are only in for a whole load more of this random bollocks that was on absolutley nobody's list of top ten priorities for the country.

Oasis
Different strokes for different folks when it comes to personal taste but its easy to see why this has been a massive deal. When they played Knebworth at the height of their popularity it generated the biggest demand for tickets in British history and not only was the music a phenomenon but the Gallagher brothers become a cultural phenomenon in the UK. A record consisting entirely of them having a blazing row actually charted! A reunion was always going to generate a huge amount of talk and attention.

Talk talk featuring Troye Sivan
I mean she'd get an easy #1 I suppose but i'd rather she didn't let her on the exquisite Sympathy Is A Knife.

Friday Chart Predictions
Justin Bieber had a shorter gap with What Do You Mean, Sorry & Love Yourself IIRC. Also John Lennon with Starting Over, Imagine and Woman in December 1980/Early 1981. Still very impressive though.

Friday Chart Predictions
Ideally it would be nice to see Champagne Supernova chart at last. They should have released it as a single in 96 to coincide with Knebworth.

Pretty huge impact for Oasis. If they were to drop a one off single between now and the tour I think it could go in at #1.

Oasis
Bonehead is a must. They are playing Manchester on weekends either side of my birthday so i’m aiming for that but id go anywhere tbh. Tickets will be a huge mission though, i’ve heard so many people who are buzzing to go today at work, out and about and on social media.

Friday Chart Predictions
Can see Time Flies in particular getting very high.

Oasis
I'm pretty sure it will just be a comeback tour as well. Maybe a one-off standalone single together if we're lucky, but the tickets will obviously sell themselves ten times over on the intense hype.

Oasis
Oh WOW! Really feels like there’s a lot more weight behind this than the usual rumours and all but confirmed. Will be immense to actually be able to see them live if I can get those tickets.

Coldplay, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna & TINI - WE PRAY
Sounds decent on first listen, better than the last single.

I've heard literally nobody talking about it but I guess that plays into fractured music interests and the death of monoculture these days.

I agree that Spring Breakers sounds like the best fit for Kesha. I'm just keeping everything cross that there will be a full remix album.

F.E.A.R - The Official Labour Calmer Steering Thread (mk III)
Sounds overly complicated, harder to implement than the current system and will not be popular. The aim shouldn't be to punish people for driving a certain amount of miles full stop, many do so to earn a living, but to encourage people to drive in vehicles that are more environmental. Just unfreeze fuel duty while continuing to incentivize take up of EV's with exemption from charges and subsidies if affordable. Will still be unpopular among some sections of the public but has a clear environmental justification and is better than arseing about with taxes in this way.- Dom Dolla
