Well yes I already admitted in another thread that he's clearly done more download sales than I expected to contribute to that sizeable lead. The midweek evidence also suggests I underestimated his final sales tally. 99 times out of 100 iTunes means fook all in 2024 though. You can get to #1 on iTunes and not make the weekly top 100. It's a largely dead format. You can't assume that an iTunes #1 is going to negate any streaming disadvantage because you're not comparing like for like in terms of scale.

Big energy but if LTWYL was released in today's chart climate and had the same appeal it probably would have had 9 weeks at #1. If the charts worked anything like they used to for decades pre-streaming, Espresso wouldn't even be the main competition for Eminem this week. He would probably be deposing Central Cee who would have deposed Billie who would have deposed Posty who have deposed Sabrina. It's easier to think of how the charts might have been in a different era lately when we have had a fair few straight out the gate hits, at other times it's so incompatible it would be a nebulous and pointless exercise.

Clear blue water for Eminem this week then. Guess I was wrong about the significance of his downloads, i'm surprised. Still likely to continue his extraordinary one week chart topper streak though.

Performance on iTunes doesn't negate anything lol. I doubt he'll reach 80k but won't need to for #1 this week. I expect the bar will be around 65k again.

I think Rap God is known beyond his core fanbase for sure. Berzerk probably not.

Rap God peaked lower than Bezerk because Bezerk was the lead and Rap God came after it and by only a week, as part of a very of its era series of instant grat releases. Just Lose It also seems a strange #1 in retrospect but was the lead single for Encore after the last album was huge so pretty much anything would have done it. Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie did have very strong chart runs despite not being chart toppers, in fact LTWYL was rather infamously the biggest seller of the year despite not being a #1.

Don’t think the track is anything great, lacking the wit of some of his other Slim Shady tracks but willl be good to get a new #1 and for Eminem to continue his total so far into his career.

I think it's a very solid pop song. Does sound quite lush in the warmer weather. I wouldn't call it song of the year material personally but it's good. I'm bored of it at #1 though, it's already blocked two songs from debuting there. I hope something else (*decent) can come to replace it soon.
