Friday Chart Predictions
Delighted Hozier managed to sneak in that transatlantic double before Billboard inevitably becomes one long Taylor Swift playlist. More symmetry in the fact that Take Me To Church (sadly) stalled at #2 in both countries.

Could be a close one. Midnights did 32k in Week 3 while Future Nostalgia opened with 34k for Dua in 2020.

Agreed. The album sales you get once in a blue moon like Taylor this week are incredible to see but sadly she could be back at #1 in 5 weeks time with like 12k or something because of how dead the market is on a whole. Tbh back when 30 had it’s opening week I thought that was the last time we’d ever see above 200k for a weekly sale, didn’t expect Taylor to do it twice since.

Oasis sold over 600k in 3 days!!

I don’t think it was a silly assumption at all to think Midnights would be her absolute commercial peak and this one would do slightly less. Clearly proved wrong in hindsight but hardly an out there thing to predict.

Any specific reason for Kate Bush to be there?

The so-called new Shakespeare Geri Halliwell could probably have wrote more tbh

I think this one might be a bit more frontloaded and it will come close to Adele but not surpass her. But then I though it's sales total today would be roughly it's final sales for the week so who knows.

90s Top 10 Sales Week By Week- 1995
What a truly abysmal top 3 for Christmas. And 483,000 people went out to get a Robson & Jerome album the same week. What in gods name were the putting in the water that week?

I do really quite like Fortnight actually, it's got a very moody tone in a compelling way. I'll give it a free pass to dethrone Hozier for now after all lol.

The UK #3 singles listening sessions - Week 11 poll
Prodigy, Sub Sub & Enigma for the best. Was only going to be the Run For You cover (which I hate) for the worst but I listen to the Right Said Fred one for the first time for the sake of a fair vote and it gave me the ick. I'll take Deeply Dippy any day over that so got a vote too.

Well Cardigan is miles better than Anti-Hero so i'm taking this as a sign they've just recrunched the numbers and retrospectively changed the charts. Like when they gave Sam Ryder's Spaceman the #1. :P

Obviously still depends on how the album tracks perform over the next few days but I would bet on Taylor 1/3/4 with Hozier at 2 and Sabrina at 5 atm.

Great news! It feels right that this record belongs to an event release again rather than the annual passive listening on Christmas Day.

Glad for a new peak for Artemas, shame it never quite made the top as it's great. Brilliant to see Hozier still on top. Despite mixed opinions of the songs it's also wonderful to have three brand new debuts by different artists in the top 10. If only we could see this more often.

Good for Perrie managing to get a top 10 but the song does absolutely nothing for me personally. Don't expect it to hang around very long either. Illusion is a decent light bop from Dua and a bit of a grower too, prefer it to Training Season but on the other hand it's no Houdini.

Happier is a bop and glad to see it rising. :cheer: Not my favourite Blessed Madonna track, but she was well overdue a hit at the top end of the chart.

Agreed. It's had it's moment but is contributing to the clog up well and truly now.
