  1. Well that's exactly the point. Her contemporaries who rose to fame at the same time like Gaga and Taylor Swift are still on top whereas Katy's latest album disappeared into the ether after a single week on the chart. She did fall off quite dramatically from the Witness era onwards. One album wonders are ten a penny but its a bit more unusual for an artist to go from "guaranteed hit" status to struggling to scrape a top 40 within a few years. Nelly Furtado and Jess Glynne are similar examples.
  2. I guess Katy Perry springs to mind first. Huge name in the first half of the 2010s, generally seen somewhere around #45 if she's lucky these days.
  3. Hun she's literally just had a #2 hit.
  4. Issa knife when you overlook the remix for too long and now you recongnise it absolutley slaps but the rest of the public have already given up with it. :(
  5. I quite like Sailor Song actually but those Gracie Abrams songs are suuuch borefests.
  6. I just listened to her new song that has blown up straight away... what a load of shite.
  7. Sailor Song #1 this week then. Can see Gaga still getting into the top 5 with the low sales bar and all the ACRs. Hopefully APT hurries up the charts to the top.
  8. Haven’t heard the new Gags yet but could be entering at #1. Not a huge bar this week either. Hope APT still gets a shot at the top at some point.
  9. Brandy. Not too fussed if Mark & Lily depart first though, a very insignificant cover.
  10. It does make me feel a bit out of the loop that something I find so boringly average has had such popularity for weeks on end. Like I understood why Espresso was big. This I don't.
  11. Geldof has changed his mind apparently according to comments he made this year.
  12. I can't see Band Aid 40 (if it happens) not being exactly the same song with minor lyrical tweaks at most. It would also probably go #1 on heavy first week downloads.
  13. Hopefully APT is the next #1. Easily the best of likely contenders.
  14. Great #1s from Madness and Adam Ant but that Charlene song is hideous. Shame Torch didn't quite manage its turn at the top too.
  15. Addictive, its got that earworm factor. Definitely returning to the early vibes on Bruno's part.
  16. Destiny's Child. Alreet but not their best imo.
  17. I do love American Idiot but I also love the other singles from the parent album a lot more so i'm going for the excellent Faster Kill Pussycat for the win.
  18. APT is a cute little bop and building well day on day, could see it as a future #1
  19. Wtaf. I wasn't even a 1D stan but I can't remember the last time I was literally taken aback in shock at a celebrity death like I was when I read that. RIP and my thoughts go out to all those closest to him, far too young.
  20. Strong bunch there with not much to separate them. Went with Chasing Cars as I assume it has had a few turns at this already.
