I saw a post about something Christmas related and genuinely forgot Christmas was still to come, all my Christmases have been and gone!

Hearing rumours circling of the lead single coming on January 9th. Only seeing comments on Twitter though so I don’t know if they’re getting it from anything credible.

Securing Minogue’s highest sales in a week since Can’t Get You Out Of My Head slipped 1-2 on consumption of 73,027 units in 2001, Xmas also earns Minogue the distinction of being the first female soloist to have No.1 singles in four different decades – the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2020s. It’s clear she should never be written off – this is the third time she has topped the chart after a gap of 10 or more years. Have they forgotten Love at First Sight sold 80k in its first week or did it not actually sell that much? Come to think of it, I think its sales were worked out from a ratio compared to the #1. Scratch that, the OCC say it’s her biggest sale since LAFS so it’s just an oversight from MW.

This! I didn’t know anything about the charts when Kylie was last #1. I’ve been through so many great chart moments - All the Lovers, Dancing, Kylie vs. Little Mix, Padam Padam - and this moment is going straight to the top!

It was pretty close in all three weeks! 1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (58,310) 2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUIO- Kylie Minogue (54,264) 1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (71,604) 2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI- Kylie Minogue (62,067) 1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (47,617) 2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUIO- Kylie Minogue (47,175) 'The Locomotion' and 'Wouldn't Change a Thing' had very healthy sales at #2 (highs of 84,830 and 89,896) but found themselves behind much bigger hits: 'The Only Way is Up' by Yazz and 'Swing the Mood' by Jive Bunny.

'All the Lovers' would have been a great #1 but it didn't really stand a chance in the middle of World Cup fever and massive hits like 'California Gurls' and 'Airplanes'. Maybe if the release had been a month or two previously and aligned with one of the weeks the #1 had sub 50k sales. I believe it was midweek #2 all week before being pushed down to #3 last minute. It managed 12k from physicals which seemed like a pretty big amount by 2010 standards. It would have been #8 without them. The bigger missed opportunity was 'I Believe in You'. It had four weeks available on download before the physical was released (sales which were chart ineligible) and the physical was out two weeks after the album. Still, it managed 39k which were decent sales for a #2. If only the single was released the same day as the album and it could maybe have sneaked a week at #1, in between Girls Aloud's Children in Need single and Band Aid 20. Whilst on the topic of "could have been #1", 'Je ne sais pas pourquoi' was 442 copies behind Enya's 'Orinoco Flow' on its third week of falling closely behind!

I'm very aware I need to go out and touch grass, but Christmas will be ruined if this doesn't go to #1! 😂

In an episode where they full named Ian Beale about five times! In case we thought characters were talking about another Ian... I kept thinking of Masood's useless brother each time they referred to AJ.

'In Your Eyes', 'Love at First Sight' and 'All the Lovers' also had weeks above 50k.
