  1. Yeah ‘Edge of Saturday Night’ has held up really well in my affections. Shame nothing came of it in terms of chart success.
  2. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the B-side, ‘We Know the Meaning of Love’? I like it, but don’t love it. I’d have had it on the album in place of one of the Disney ballads though. I think both this song and ‘Enjoy Yourself’ set the blueprint for the sound Kylie would explore more on ‘Rhythm of Love’. pp6O9OYASPM
  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just sent to radio and nothing else. No video, no remixes, no physicals.
  4. It certainly lives up to its name! I do think it'll be this year though - if it is certified this Friday, it has averaged 161 chart sales since July 2019; if it's certified the last chart week of the 2025, it'll have averaged 137 chart sales. I estimate it to be shifting somewhere between 150-200 currently so hopefully it'll be certified any day now!
  5. It did take a while to click with me - there were parts I liked but overall it felt very stop-start and the vocal processing took a while to get used to - but I grew to really like it and found it very addictive. I do get why people don't like it though and I have to admit it is very shameless in the way it sounds like 'Padam Padam' and 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' were put through an AI generator. I'm going with 'Someone For Me' again but, knowing it's not likely to go anywhere yet, I'm on board with 'Dance to the Music' going. I think it's a cute bop but does lean towards the filler side.
  6. Been looking at the previous known total sales for Kylie's singles and I think we could get a few new certifications this year: Spinning Around: Platinum Kids: Gold Slow: Silver All the Lovers: Platinum Padam Padam: Platinum Tension: Silver Potentially add 'Where the Wild Roses Grow', '2 Hearts' and 'Say Something' for Silver as well. 'The Locomotion' too for sales of 200k in the download/streaming era as it wasn't originally certified back in the 80s.
  7. We got a total of 839k for 'Santa Baby' the w/e 28th December 2023. It shifted 13.5k the following week on ACR, so ~27k overall, so ~866k total to the end of 2023 and ~70k shifted in 2024. Could just scrape 1m on the last week of 2025! Just 4k sold in 2024 for 'Kylie Christmas' though.
  8. These are the estimated weekly sales for 'Tears On My Pillow' (based on panel sales and the market size in 1990): 02 43,588 01 59,262 02 53,856 03 32,674 09 19,669 It held up pretty well the week it dropped from number one, but couldn't contended with Sinead O'Conner's smash 'Nothing Compares to You' which ended up having two weeks of 100k+ sales. Couple of archive bits: UAhGSY5MNsc h4gOPVt0q8I "It appears in the closing credits of The Delinquents... if you can stay awake that long" - harsh! Apparently the film was an initial success in the UK, debuting at #1 in the box office, although I can't actually find a source confirming this.
  9. I think it's a sweet, harmless cover; one I enjoyed more in the past and don't really return to now. If it hadn't been a number one for her, I'd definitely have opted for 'I'm Over Dreaming (Over You)' as single #4.
  10. Very interesting to know 'Kylie' and 'Fever' are shifting pretty much the same amount each week! Between the release of 'Tension' and 'Tension II' (56 weeks), 'Kylie' sold 7,667 (137 per week) and 'Fever' sold 7,722 (138 per week). Bare in mind that 'Kylie' sold just 28,763 between November 2006 and October 2023! The 35th anniversary vinyl must still be having a real impact. 'Fever' is on track to reach 6x Platinum in... June 2031!
  11. 4wn0Iah33Fs Today marks 35 years since the release of 'Tears On My Pillow'. A cover of the doo-wop song originally a hit for Little Anthony and the Imperials, Kylie's version was the final single released from 'Enjoy Yourself' and featured on the soundtrack to her first feature film The Delinquents. It became Kylie's fourth number one in the UK - as well as SAW's thirteenth and last to date - but faired less well in Australia, peaking at #20 and becoming her lowest charting single. Share your thoughts and memories of 'Tears On My Pillow' below!
  12. Meh to the single choice but at least the era isn't totally over (I was beginning to think that was it other than the tour). Kylie's had a few entries on the download chart for Germany but nothing that's appeared on the main chart - will 'Someone for Me' be the song to do so? Guessing the big promo slot will be Wetten, dass..?, I'm not aware of any others.
  13. For a second I thought "that's ages away!" until it dawned on me... 2026 is next year.
  14. I know I'll be voting alone on this for a while but 'Someone For Me' gets my vote. I've struggled to get into this one, I do admit the hook is catchy but in a way that irritates me rather than compels me to listen to it. The vocal grates a bit and the overall execution of the song just falls flat and disrupts the flow of the album.
  15. Kylie has four songs on the list of best selling cassettes singles in 2024: 2. My Oh My 3. Lights Camera Action 18. Especially for You 20. Tension 'Tension II' was the ninth best selling album on cassette too. https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...albums-of-2024/
  16. Lovely to see 'Goodbye' and 'Who Do You Think You Are' likely to have passed 1m! Do you know when 'Stop' is estimated to reach the milestone as well?
  17. Liam.k. posted a post in a topic in Madonna's Madonna
'Finally Enough Love' falls short of the 2024 Album Chart after achieving a #86 position in 2023. It sold an estimated 84k in 2024, taking its total to 215k. If Madonna does release a new album in 2025, I could see this collection going Platinum by the end of year!

  21. I was listening to Rihanna a few weeks ago just from the most played and noticed Breakin Dishes played quite early on. It is a banger so I’m here for a revival. Could have been a good single but I don’t think I’d have replaced any of the official singles, I think they feel a bit more timeless.
  22. I know! The first Kylie era I was old enough to properly appreciate the full thing. Then Light Years was my first memories of Kylie and the first album I heard from her!
