  1. It’s like Kylie vs. Little Mix all over again!
  2. Now that we have the official numbers, what were SayHey claiming earlier?
  3. As much as I want Kylie to be Christmas number one because it’s Kylie, another part of me wants her to be number one to break up the cycle of Wham being number one almost by default. I want other artists to feel encouraged to go for the #1 in future years.
  4. 7k is a really good lead considering it would probably be at a similar position as it was in the previous First Look without physicals and downloads? Shame not to get a breakdown but I’m sure we will in tomorrows update, hopefully the Strictly performance will help boost and also hope fans rally round now that they know Kylie is in with a big chance.
  5. More in the past 6 years than the first 30 years! I can see her overtaking Madonna’s total of #1s at some point, going by the rate both artists release albums. Madonna’s currently one ahead, should probably go #1 with her album next year, but maybe Kylie could overtake by end of decade?
  6. Nice! Wonder how high those numbers will get when the new album is released.
  7. Kylie Christmas actually sold slightly more on vinyl than Tension II did! The highest weekly sale for the original album was about 23k (estimation, think it might have been just under, so this reissue has outdone that).
  8. Music Week: A decade after Kylie Christmas reached No.12 for Kylie Minogue, its 10th anniversary is marked by the release of Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped), which dashes to a No.1 debut on consumption of 23,279 units (10,125 CDs, 9,510 vinyl albums, 1,441 cassettes, 1,057 digital downloads and 1,146 sales-equivalent streams). It becomes the first album of seasonal material to reach No.1 for a female solo artist since Susan Boyle topped with The Gift in 2010. The original Kylie Christmas has already undergone several incarnations, and the Fully Wrapped edition has both omissions and additions, most pertinently showcasing new tracks Hot In December, This Time Of Year and Office Party and Amazon-exclusive XMAS. Ineligible to be combined with the previous releases, it is Minogue’s 22nd Top 10, and 11th No.1 in an album chart career that spans 37 years. Her previous No.1s: studio albums Kylie (1988), Enjoy Yourself (1989), Fever (2001), Aphrodite (2010), Golden (2018), Disco (2020), Tension (2023), Tension II (2024) and compilations Greatest Hits (1992) and Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection (2019). One of 17 acts to have 10 or more No.1 albums hitherto, the 57-year-old is now one of 12 to have 11 or more – with just seven acts ahead of her – and the only Australian. In all of its previous incarnations, Kylie Christmas has total consumption of 176,868 units.
  9. Not me thinking ‘Colouring in Poster’ was a title track! 😂
  10. Wonder if Chemistry would have gone Top 10 if new releases didn’t have a days disadvantage, as they did back in the day?
  11. 25 years this year which would have been a great time to release one but obviously that was never going to happen when they’re pushing for physicals of the album reissue and the new single.
  12. It’s third best after Ray of Light and Confessions for me! Funny when it was actually the album I had the hardest time getting into when I was a kid!
  13. Kylie Christmas debuted at #12 with 15,881 in 2015 so this album will beat that, although probably will fall short of its highest sale, which was about 23k the week it was #20. Kylie Christmas didn’t even re-enter last Christmas! It was Top 250 on the combined (albums and compilations) chart though.
  14. Showing as a new entry on the OCC page. I think the threshold for songs on the original album is too low.
  15. I’m happy with a year break for creative reasons but would also be nice to tie in the next album with her 40th anniversary in music (whether that be 2027 to celebrate her first single or 2028 for her first album).

I did like the line on Friday night’s episode about 65 not being a milestone worth celebrating like 60 or 70, clearly a subtle reference to Coronation Street turning 65 next week and nothing significant being planned.
  17. Don't forget it just missed out on the Top 100 before entering and I think was available for a week before that was well. My estimate is 33k.
  18. They've revised the total. The estimate in the opening post is based on year end lists and estimates for trickle sales since. I don't think an official total has ever been given. I believe the opening sales estimate for the time was 56k which is now revised to 41k.
  19. From Music Week: A little over 31 years since it debuted and peaked at No.2 on sales of 42,041 copies, Madonna’s sixth studio album, Bedtime Stories, is the subject of belated ‘30th anniversary’ editions with new vinyl and expanded CD editions ushering it to a re-entry at No.61 (2,563 sales). The simultaneously released EP Bedtime Stories: The Untold Chapter – released only on vinyl and digitally – gathers eight remixes and outtakes, and debuts outside the Top 75 at No.95 (2,106 sales). Bedtime Stories’ lifetime consumption rises to 393,730 units. Looking at the sales, it didn't do as badly as I first thought. If they combined the releases, it would have been Top 30 and sold 4,669 (more than 'Veronica Electronica'). Nice to have a lifetime total for 'Bedtime Stories' too!
  20. In the UK: #61 for 'Bedime Stories' and #95 for 'The Untold Chapter'. Not great. 😬
  21. Same! Can’t remember for sure but pretty sure Kylie has been my top artist the past couple of years due to her releasing albums. Can guarantee Madonna will make it two years on the trot with her new album expected early next year!

My average age was 40 which I was offended by until I saw the age @Jade got who is the same real age as me!
  23. ‘Hot in December’ giving Carly Rae Jepsen vibes!
  24. Correct!
