@1892321072948658467 Aha I did pick up on that Denise scene but just assumed it was a subtle tribute rather than any sort of foreshadowing!

I'm going for 'Material Girl' but would be happy if it went either way. The correct Top 2!

James Bond producers give creative control to Amazon
@1892584463428702276 This... worries me greatly. It's been frustrating as a Bond fan for there to be years of silence but Bond is in the Broccoli family blood, I trust whatever direction they take the series would be in keeping with essence of what Bond is about. I don't trust Amazon. I don't want the series being diluted in the way Star Wars and the likes have.

Tension Tour ● SPOILERS thread
Nice to hear a decent amount of Did It Again last night. Apparently Limbo and Please Stay only had a line or two sung the other night. I’d be happy if Kylie properly rehearsed a handful of deep cuts and alternated between them throughout the show.

EastEnders
No nothing has been announced but I've seen loads of theories that Martin is getting killed off recently. I can't say I gave much thought to them until this week when there has been quite a bit of foreshadowing. I'd like to think the producers have learned from past mistakes and wouldn't kill off such a legacy character unless it so happened the actor quit. As I say, a death exit would feel logical because I can't see it being true to character that Martin would leave his kids (in the same way it was inevitable his dad Arthur would be killed off when Bill Treacher quit).

EastEnders
I'm praying that Martin doesn't die tomorrow but if James Bye has quit then I could totally see why a death is the only logical exit for him.

@1892319668037198310 Icons! This was the highlight of the episode for me. When they had the lingering shot and a kind of singing sound above Sharon just before Angie appeared, I thought to myself "omg is Sharon going to have a vision of her mum" and I was in actual hysterics when she did! Anita Dobson slotted back into character with ease and she is such a captivating performer. Angie appearing next to the same set of stairs where we had the iconic divorce papers scene in 1986 too. An hour long episode really allowed scenes the space to breathe and also build the tension accordingly. I don't think I could fault anything. The scenes with Phil, Linda and Nigel were fantastic. Spot on. Pleased we had the scene of Kathy helping Cindy out of The Vic; I still don't buy Kathy as an attempted murderer but I guess this scene went a little in the direction of redeeming her. The stalling with Stacey and Martin was a typical soap trope but I totally bought into it. So excited for Lacey Turner to deliver in the live episode tomorrow (like a month after giving birth in real life as well). I'm hoping that Jessie Wallace wasn't available for these block of episodes for whatever reason, but hopefully Kat will turn up in tomorrow's live (with a returning Zoe would be fantastic but I'm not allowing myself to get too hyped about that). It was mentioned that Patrick was returning home later in tonight's episode so hopefully he makes an appearance too.

EastEnders
Tony Holland created the show with Julia Smith. I'm voting for Julia as Julia Jackson has a great ring to it but also I just can't see Sonia giving her daughter the same name as the person who abused her step-niece!

I shall try to reserve judgement until the end of the week because... I just can't buy Kathy as an attempted murderer. Nope. Looking forward to tonight's episode regardless, what with the explosion aftermath and the storyline climaxes of the Sonia/Reiss/Bianca and Phil storylines. Also appreciated the use of background music last night: 'She's the One' playing over Martin and Stacey's scene and 'Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)' as Denise looks at Jack and Ravi. @1891944522151498202 @1891966219328070121

American Pie ● 25 years on
From what I've seen, more fans like her cover than not. It's not top tier by any means but I think it's a really sweet version and Madonna sings it very well (as you say, Chris, with ease). It's nice to hear more of the lighter sounding Orbit production following the clubbier 'Ray of Light'. Shout out to 'Time Stood Still' which also appears on 'The Next Best Thing'. It's one of my all time favourite Madonna songs. Her vocals are so angelic and that chorus is just perfection. nJxUrLTBzS0 It does appear on the international editions of 'Music' (and on recent pressings of the US vinyl). I think it works nicely as an album closer and the standard album only being 10 songs is too short.

EastEnders
I'm pretty sure Cindy did meet up with Cindy Jr but I think it was said Cindy Jr wasn't ready to form a relationship with her or something. I can remember thinking it was a shame we got yet another off-screen reunion between Cindy and one of her family. There's a teaser for tonight's episode and it basically confirms that isn't the one holding the necklace.

She also performed 'Please Stay'! :o First time since the Showgirl Tour? Seems like 'I Believe in You' has been dropped and the one with Alok has been moved to an early slot (between 'On a Night Like This' and 'Better the Devil You Know').

American Pie ● 25 years on
X4RDB-mMDJg 8 February 2000 saw the release of Madonna's cover of 1971 hit 'American Pie', originally a near 9 minute long folk rock song by Don McLean. Madonna was hesitant at reinventing such a classic but was convinced by Rupert Everett to record it for their film 'The Next Best Thing'. Her cover cuts the tracking time in half and reworks it into a William Orbit-produced dance-pop song. It was a huge hit, reaching #1 in many countries across the world, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Despite not being commercially released there, 'American Pie' reached #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the strength of airplay alone. 25 years on, what are your thoughts and memories of 'American Pie'?
