  1. I remember it had been a surprise music video and single when it was released. Everybody thought there will not be anymore singles when Rob finished the Tour and was almost finished himself. Sorry for straight words. So, I was happy that the one of the best track of Rudebox have been released and it gave a hope everything will be fine in the end. That year I visited gym rather often and this song and Rudebox song usually were on NRJ radio in rotations every time I'd visited it. My few non-Robbies friends like this song more than any other his singles so it means something. Yes, I do like the song. Of course. But still my favourite is LOUISE but because it's a cover my next choice is KEEP ON.
  2. Hey guys! Unfortunately the limitation rule of the forum is 50 pages threads. We have 49 pages with BM topic right now. So, very soon we will jump to this mirror thread. Just let me say in advance I want to say thank you ALL for this BOOM of the Better Man (not me :) movie. It's fully deserved. So, I'm locking the thread for a while and open it in a day or so. So, our initial thread is still here if you want to return and re-read something: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...60#entry7690939
  3. I have a big news: ‘Better Man’ VOD Release Date Revealed The VOD release date for Better Man has been revealed. The film will be available for purchase or rent on digital HD platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV starting February 11, 2025. https://maxblizz.com/better-man-vod-release-date-revealed/ ---- THIS! Agree, I like this movie first of all because it's a great movie and only then because it's movie about Robbie. And to be honest with you, I still really surpised because of it. Thanks Tess, haven't got time to post it yesterday. Suggest you to watch this interview in New York with Teddy, etc. I felt absolutely different style and audience feelings and he liked them, no doubts.
  4. No Tess, better this ;) I7tG26jQQ8M
  5. There are 4 new nominations at the Visual Effects Society Awards. These are alredy 40th, 41st, 42nd and 43rd nominations for the best movie of 2024 Better Man, produced by Robbie Williams himself and directed by Michael Gracey. And this is another nomination for WETA studios what gave the world films like The Lord Of The Rings, Avatar, etc. Good luck to all nominees. *seems that's a style of all speeches at those moments?* ;) Visual Effects Society Awards - February 11 2025 OUTSTANDING VISUAL EFFECTS IN A PHOTOREAL FEATURE Better Man (Luke Millar Andy Taylor David Clayton Keith Herft Peter Stubbs) Dune: Part Two Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Mufasa: The Lion King Twisters OUTSTANDING CHARACTER IN A PHOTOREAL FEATURE Better Man – Robbie Williams Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – Noa Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – Raka Mufasa: The Lion King – Taka OUTSTANDING CG CINEMATOGRAPHY Better Man (Blair Burke Shweta Bhatnagar Tim Walker Craig Young) Dune: Part Two – Arrakis House of the Dragon – Season 2; “The Red Dragon and the Gold;” “Battle at Rook’s Rest“ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – Egg Climb OUTSTANDING COMPOSITING & LIGHTING IN A FEATURE Better Man (Mark McNicholl Gordon Spencer de Haseth Eva Snyder Markus Reithoffer) Dune: Part Two – Wormriding, Geidi Prime, and the Final Battle Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes The Wild Robot https://www.vesglobal.org/23rd-awards/

  7. It's great to heat, Mullo! Thanks for sharing. What song/s did you mostly liked? Wow! So cool, how did you know about this event and how Rob was there? Reliable? :) nirvanamusic, thanks for this post! I do like all analasys too. Well, 1 week ago or so somebody from you asked what $ we're targeting. In December my answer was 50M USD (totally), while now, today I would say 30M USD before streaming. Talking this I don't forget about France release, Latin/South America + some Asian market. Don't forget about Chinese money for the movie - why not to try some Chinese opportunity too, for example? Regarding Eminem - yes, I think his amount was clear and real by the moment. Yes, I've seen this post but still 100% true :)) Anyway, Tim was great in Wonka. He is a talented guy for sure.
  8. Every Better Man Song, Ranked Worst To Best By Jack Walters 8,6/10 Michael Gracey’s Better Man is one of the most creative and inventive biopics in recent memory, detailing the turbulent life of British pop icon Robbie Williams through the lens of a singing, dancing, CGI monkey. It’s a totally unique spin on a genre that’s otherwise become far too saturated, and the film definitely benefits as a result. It’s an extremely honest examination of Williams’ life, and despite Better Man’s box office failure, the film still deserves recognition for its introspective and reflective story. In addition to the very transparent storytelling, Better Man also shines thanks to its brilliant use of music - and the intricate dance choreography that goes alongside it. As he displayed with The Greatest Showman, Gracey knows exactly how to use musical numbers in order to push the story forward and develop characters’ relationships, and he manages it again with Williams’ biopic. The two films are very similar in their stylistic flair and dynamic direction - although Better Man is notably not suitable for children. 13. I Found Heaven Released In 1992 “I Found Heaven” is one of the few Take That songs to appear on the Better Man soundtrack, and it’s certainly an unconventional single for the film to use. While it’s one of the band’s earliest hits, and the tune of the music fits neatly with the atmosphere of the movie, it’s hard to imagine that this song was a truly necessary inclusion. The song plays during the film’s first act, as Robbie Williams and his fellow bandmates make a name for themselves in England’s gay club scene. While there’s plenty to enjoy about this song (it’s upbeat, catchy, and perfectly contrasts the depression that Williams is feeling at this point in his life), it’s ultimately quite a niche Take That song that probably could have been replaced by one of their bigger hits, like “Pray” or “Never Forget”. 12 Land Of 1000 Dances Released In 1966 The inclusion of “Land of 1000 Dances” in Better Man’s soundtrack is another surprising one, as it’s not a song that’s frequently associated with Robbie Williams or Take That. The song was originally written and released in 1966 by Wilson Pickett, but re-recorded for the biopic by Robbie Williams in late 2024. In the film, this song is used to help transition Williams from the corny pop music of his boy group days to the more ambitious, rockstar energy of his early solo career. It’s accompanied in the film by a great montage of Williams’ earliest concerts, which is one of Better Man’s highlights. 11 Forbidden Road Released In 2024 “Forbidden Road” is an original song that was recorded by Robbie Williams specifically for the release of Better Man, and it plays over the closing credits to the film. With lyrics that discuss the artist’s spiritual journey over the years, including lines such as “you need to lose your mind to get back to the light sometimes”, the song perfectly encapsulates the hopeful message of the film. The song is easily overshadowed by the other content in Better Man’s closing credits, which chronicle Williams’ real-life journey in comparison to the monkey-fueled narrative of the film. The only reason that “Forbidden Road” doesn’t rank higher among Better Man’s best songs is that it doesn’t really play a huge role in the story. The song is easily overshadowed by the other content in Better Man’s closing credits, which chronicle Williams’ real-life journey in comparison to the monkey-fueled narrative of the film. 10 Feel Released In 2002 “Feel” is one of Better Man’s first musical numbers, and while the single ranks firmly among Robbie Williams’ biggest songs, its inclusion in the narrative isn’t as powerful as it could have been. The song is performed by a preteen version of Williams (as a monkey), and lacks the strong vocals that make it such an emotional ballad. Interestingly, the instrumentals of “Feel” are used as a recurring motif throughout Better Man that constantly draws attention to how much Williams has changed from the young man (or monkey) that he once was. Director Michael Gracey really makes the most of this tune, and it leaves a strong impact. 9 Something Beautiful Released In 2002 “Something Beautiful” is one of Robbie Williams’ most sincere and heartfelt songs, and Better Man does a great job of depicting the singer’s reluctance to show this vulnerable side of himself. The song plays during Williams’ first meeting with his long-time collaborator Guy Chambers, who was credited as the co-writer of many of the artist’s most popular singles. The dynamic between Williams and Chambers offers some much-needed humor and lightheartedness in this dark period of the singer’s life, and Better Man uses this song as a way of showing how strong their professional dynamic was. The pair bounce off each other effortlessly, and songs like “Something Beautiful” were born as a result. 8 Better Man Released In 2000 Better Man changes certain aspects of Robbie Williams’ life, but one thing that it clearly gets right is the singer’s journey of self-discovery and healing in the latter part of his career. This song is a clear indicator of that, and it plays towards the end of the film as Robbie makes amends with the people he’s mistreated over the years. This is the perfect song for Better Man to take its name from, as it’s extremely introspective and speaks volumes about the way Robbie Williams sees himself as a person. Both lyrically and musically, it’s one of the film’s most powerful songs and a perfect way to bring this story to a close. 7 Relight My Fire Released In 1993 Better Man only spends a short amount of time exploring Robbie Williams’ involvement in Take That, and as a consequence, there aren’t too many songs from the boy band in the film’s soundtrack. However, Gracey still managed to make room for the group’s first major hit, “Relight My Fire,” which is a disco-inspired pop tune that rocketed the boys into the public eye. This was the perfect Take That song to include in Better Man, not just because of how catchy and enthusiastic it is, but also because of how clearly it makes Robbie Williams seem like the outlier of the group. This was the perfect Take That song to include in Better Man, not just because of how catchy and enthusiastic it is, but also because of how clearly it makes Robbie Williams seem like the outlier of the group. He doesn’t enjoy the song’s intricate choreography and melodramatic vocals like his bandmates, and that’s the first step in his isolation. 6 My Way Released In 1969 After playing briefly in the film’s opening scene, “My Way” appears once more in Better Man’s emotional ending as the show-stopping closer to the “One Night with Robbie Williams” show. It’s one of the film’s saddest scenes, as Williams calls his father onto the stage and the pair finally reconcile their differences. The complex dynamic between Robbie and his father is one of Better Man’s strongest aspects, and “My Way” is the perfect song to bookend their relationship. From singing it together in their small council house in Stoke-on-Trent to performing it side-by-side on the world’s stage, the pair quickly forget their differences and overcome their grudge. 5 She’s The One Released In 1999 “She’s The One” is Better Man’s big romantic number, playing towards the middle of the film and marking the beginning of Robbie Williams’ relationship with Canadian singer Nicole Appleton. Their dynamic quickly becomes the film’s most engaging plot point, as Williams is unable to put aside his demons to devote himself to her. The song was originally recorded by British rock band World Party in 1997, but Williams’ cover soon became the more well-known version of the ballad. Its musical notes are references many times in Better Man as the singer’s relationship worsens, and he’s reminded of the romantic ideals he’s left behind. 4 Come Undone Released In 2003 “Come Undone” is one of Robbie Williams’ most biting and honest songs, speaking about life in the spotlight and the dangers that such a public life brings. In Better Man, it plays shortly after the singer’s departure from Take That. Better Man uses the song in a very clever way to draw parallels between Williams’ exit from Take That and his father’s departure as a youth. With lyrics such as “do another interview, sing a bunch of lies, tell about celebrities that I despite”, this single doesn’t hold back about Williams’ dissatisfaction with this period of his life. Better Man uses the song in a very clever way to draw parallels between Williams’ exit from Take That and his father’s departure as a youth. 3 Angels Released In 1997 One of the reasons that Better Man has received such great reviews is that it’s incredibly honest and transparent, with Williams’ narration giving the film an extremely personal angle despite all the glitz and glamor. This is most prevalent during Better Man’s montage of Robbie’s grandmother’s death, which is soundtracked by this timeless song. Better Man uses this song to pay tribute to Williams’ grandmother and display how strongly the singer was affected by her passing. After being rejected by his father, then by his Take That bandmates, and finally by Nicole, this moment represents a troubling low point of the artist’s life. 2. Let Me Entertain You Released In 1997 “Let Me Entertain You” was released as part of Williams’ debut album “Life Thru A Lens”, the project that finally allowed him to make a name for himself outside of Take That. In Better Man, the song plays during his performance at Knebworth, as the film takes a major creative swing and sees Robbie Williams jump from the stage and violently attack the physical embodiment of his own past. It’s a bold move to interrupt Williams’ iconic Knebworth performance with this loud, stylish interlude of violence - but it ends up being one of Better Man’s strongest scenes. The sequence perfectly depicts the singer’s self-destructive behavior and intrusive thoughts, using the violence as a metaphor for his own depression. 1. Rock DJ Released In 2000 The “Rock DJ” dance number is the best scene in Better Man by a mile, and it’s a perfect display of Michael Gracey’s talent as a director. The uplifting sequence comes during the peak of Take That’s success and follows the boys as they dance through the streets of London and collect a huge number of backing dancers in their wake. Though many international audiences may not have previously known who Robbie Williams is, this scene proves that you don’t need to be familiar with his music or struggles to have fun with Better Man. The music is catchy, the choreography is huge, and the cinematography is wonderfully dynamic. It’s five minutes of pure joy that encapsulates everything great about musical filmmaking. https://screenrant.com/better-man-songs-ranked-list/

  11. So, the end of the year also was positive. Congratulations to everyone! P.S. Well done, Minogues Team!
  12. Some news from Russia about film. Yesterday our theater (around 80 people in total) was 90% occupied while the quantity of theaters which show the movie are dissapearing after 3 weeks - it's OK. Until Thursday 15 theaters in Moscow show the film. Since Thursday there will be 5 theaters. Since Dec-22 - 3 theaters. So it means I can admit that during 1 month the movie is still here :) In Saint-Petersburg 10 theaters show the movie this week. Also I calculated that there are also 40 cities (I even don't know some of names - it's Far East)) show Better Man this week: 1-2 screenings per day. --- Still no official Box Office results for any movies during last 2-3 weeks (maybe because we had a lot of winter holidays) so can't say anything. Mojo gives some results but I prefer to wait until internal results. We can't give a big money to the film (already explained why) but we will do what we can. --- Strong 7.8 av mark on Kinopoisk - more exactly - 7.845 and growing every day. If compare it to another 2024 movies then that's our current Top in RU (w/o Russian/CIS movies): - Arthur the King (2024) - 8.308 - Dogeu deijeu (2024) - 8.249 - Dune: Part Two (2024) - 8.218 - Young Hearts (2024) - 8.201 - Karina (2024) - 8.141 - Le Comte de Monte-Cristo (2024) - 7.980 - I Am: Celine Dion (2024) - 7.897 - Better Man - 7.845 Keep it going, Mr Williams!
  13. Swings both ways for Rob then? :)
  14. So cool!! Back to charts! ))) Well done, folks!! I think we show Paramount and Robbie an example how to need to break the Box Office! 15. Yes, let's hope this disaster in LA will finish sooner. It's going somehow wrong... Hope people could recover at least something :( ---- Great mini videos from New York! So, would be funny if Teddy will be popular in US earlier than his dad :D But... Teddy or Ted or Theodora? Who will choose the name this time? ;)
  16. God bless with lady! 2SwXSZMKfXc
  17. Again, it shouldn't be a message about me. It's about Robbie. Take a smile! @1878566667103420811
  18. Hi folks! Amost haven't been in web today so thanks for posting the news. Back at home exactly at El Classico (well done, Barca!) Many emotions in my head today about the movie, sucess or not, further perspectives, etc. Many of you pointed on very interesting topics what I would like to discuss with you, especially in live, not by web. Interesting mixed feelings during today - up and down and up again. Now is very late in Moscow = 2 am and need to go to sleep because a very difficult working week is coming. But I decided to come for a moment when I've seen the new photos of Robbie with her daughter in New Yourk during special Q&A session earlier today! It happened 3 hours after my 4th time of screening of Better Man with my friends today. As I told you some theaters finally show it in original language so it was my first time to watch the movie in English. Guys, it's even better! I heard Robbie's voice and it's already another story!! Was a little bit difficult with Northern English accent in the beginning but all is fine in the end. I don't get tired of the film at all. I'm very proud that Robbie's movie is the best movie of 2024. How many details I've found during all these screenings... every time I find new a new interesting easter eggs and clever parts. The film helps me at the moment. There are some internal experiences and doubts, but the film is like those Robbie's pills in the film. I want to say BIG thanks to Michael Gracey for this healing feeling. It makes a lot for me. Many times in my life Rob helped me emotinally in the very important moments. Now again. With a big help of Mr Gracey. I really don't understand how he felt Robbie so good and how he found this chemistry between them and between all parts of the story in Better Man. For me it reminds me only one chemistry - Robbie & Guy. I think Robbie and Michael can continue their collaboration and I would be very happy if he would help him with some music videos or so. While Robbie's team is strong, his team is older than before and he needs an INPUT of fresh people around him. New visions and his image. So, don't worry about Box Office. Film will be OK with money response in the end (in Box or Streaming - doesn't matter) but it's a kind of magic and the last time I felt IT when I heard Bodies on radio. p.s. I have answers on 'strange' Take That songs in the movie, 'strange' Land Of 1000, many other points... But let me do it when all of you will watch the movie. It's fully deserved be a cult movie not only for fans. p.p.s I'm sorry for this chaotic message. It's because of a lot of mixed feelings in my head today.
  19. Welcome a board, PopPrince87 This TIME interview was already posted a few days ago in this thread so I must to merge them. But it's important one, so I glad to see more attention on it! Good reading everyone!
  20. While we do have the commited threads about Charts for Take That and Robbie, we have no an actual thread for posting some recent charts news and information. Let's use this thread, for example.
  21. Hey Liz, yes, the premiere of Better Man in South Africa is coming on Jan-24. As we know Robbie will be in a country (Jan-21-27) with 3 concerts within this period so it's planning clever. https://www.vibescout.com/za/movies/better-man-2024 --- Oh, vibe, wish you to watch the movie in cinema!
  22. Well, the fact they want to break America on their field (Hollywood) makes me SOOO positive -seeing the team and Robbie himself very brave. Out of routine and take the brakes is what you need if you want be relevant. Nobody told and tell it's easy to like to them after 20 years of no activity. Come on! It's difficult but very interesting goal :) But why not to try as Jack Nicholson told. Again, my opinion is only fail here - is disaster in LA this week. Robbie and Paramount specially back to USA (and changed SA concerts) for promo during these two weeks in LA. And? No premiere, no possibility to go at the TV to entertain the people when your house and your friends and Paramount guys think about families instead of that. Again, it's really a factor of unluck for me. It doesn't mean that the movie immediately would crash the box office - no. But we could see the movie today much higher and without these headlines. Very pity for a very good movie. But! 12-13 millions WW will be by Monday. It's a long and winding road for the movie, so let's just wish the BM team more luck and a little bit more clever campaign since now - I hope Paramount exp could help now - it's their work.

  24. A few more interviews with Michael... 6UiHlMefxC8 3HFNs2C8qTY Right comment: I think it's because the money came from independent sources, Rob himself and China. Local 'mafia' doesn't want to support other players not from thier pool.
