Hi - I work in a mjor record company, and compile some statistics in-house. This is a nice collection of data but unfortunately not valid. 2009 was a 53 week year, and 2010 was a 52 week year. In calendar terms, week 1 of 2010 (sales between 3-9 January) shared six of its days with week 2 of 2009 (sales between 4-10 January) but only one day with week 1 of 2009, therefore comparisons between the two week 1 figures are misleading and inappropriate. Also, since 2009 was 53 weeks, the 52 week figure quoted for 2009 is not the final figure. And even if week 53 is added, there are what is called unmatched sales, which aren't included in the weekly stats. And don't forget that X Factor 2010 contestants weekly sales have not been revealed and are not included in the figures.
