Just heard previews of Darren Hayes upcoming album - love it! Hope it does well :) Not sure why previews of it aren't available on iTunes or Amazon but heard it on his YT channel.

Ah, cheers Suedehead - I'd forgotten we got no Friday midweeks last week. Thanks for today's midweeks Martin. Shame that Maroon 5 album is out of the top 20 again but glad that both Joe & Will have climbed a place since yesterday - hopefully both will be top 20 still come Sunday.

Completely agreee, it's a great album. Keeping fingers crossed that MLJ will finally be #1 this weekend too but not holding my breath. Went to check the BBCR1 Official Chart updates and noticed that while the Singles chart has been updated to show this week's midweeks, the album update is still showing last week's. Seems a bit odd - or is that inconsistency usual? I've only recently been keeping an eye on the top 40 as there are more artists I like in it at the moment.

lol thank you torresgirl, was beginning to feel that I was! :D Also really pleased Adele's 21 is doing so brilliantly; I think she's fantastic. Got both albums ages ago but I'd rate 21 higher than 19 so the chart order is reflecting my preferences too! Am addicted to 'Set Fire to the Rain' - good to see she's not slipping down the charts in midweeks for this track, would be even better to see it climb back up :)

Completely agree - it got boring/irritating which drove me to post what I did - only saw Suggy's post after I'd done mine, or I wouldn't have bothered posting. What I have been meaning to say though is a HUGE thank you to those who've been kindly posting regular updates from Music Week for us. Thank you so much! :)

Have to say I don't get this music snobbery (sorry but that's how it comes across) from some. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to buy a single or album. I'm sure for most people, if they like it enough (from airplay, samples, etc) they'll buy. Personally I don't give a stuff whether the artist has written the track(s) or not (a good singer may not necessarily be a good song writer anyway) or whether the artist is perceived as 'cool' or not - I judge by what sounds good to me, what I think I'm likely to enjoy hearing time and again. Maybe I'm in the minority though. Of the 3 most recent albums I bought, Joe's Classic is my most played, followed by Maroon 5 (I'm another who's gutted they keep missing out on the #1 slot for MLJ), followed by Will's Echoes. I'm delighted that both Joe & Will are standing their ground in charts which are currently very fluid. I only wish Hands All Over had remained higher in the charts too, it's a great album.

:???: I'd say it did look to have some staying power judging by the fact that it keeps climbing in midweeks :D - anyway well done Joe! Nice middle finger up to Syco B-) Going to have to (grudgingly) admit that I kind of like the 1D song, quite catchy. I'm no hormonal teen fangirl either :P doubt I'd go as far as to buy it though, I'm sure it will get enough airplay to make our ears bleed anyway :lol: Not an Olly fan at all but good luck to him, he's doing well. Love love LOVE Maroon 5 MLJ - wish it had a chance at #1 but 1D clearly have it in the bag for this week at least
