Okay thanks, you're probably right about not repeating it here. If that's true it seems rather unpleasant and unnecessary though.

I want to know that too, but I'm afraid asking willl start a fight...

I think you're underestimating the potential of The Only Way Is Essex's cover of Last Christmas  :D

She's had some very positive reviews for the album - one of the broadsheets apparently called her "the first credible X Factor star" or words to that effect.

Very true - could the winner's single miss the Christmas No.1 I wonder, even without an 'anti' campaign? (Not sure if there is one this year)

Wow, he'll easily beat that - probably end up with around 130 - 140K at least. Great to see Coldplay and Noel G holding steady :)

Shocked that Olly Murs has sold 50K already...I thought he'd probably be No.1 but didn't expect such high sales. He's more popular than I realised! I expected a big drop for Kate Bush, I doubt it will appeal much beyond her established fanbase, but thought Kelly Rowland would be a bit higher given the single and her X Factor profile.

Perhaps it's been delayed because Paradise is still hanging on?

550K is more than I realised, but I agree HFB could still top it if it continues to hold well over Christmas. I'd also love to see Coldplay double platinum by the end of the year, although unless they spend the whole of December in the Top 10 I think that may be pushing it.

I'd love to see Noel climb back a bit.. one of my favourite albums of the year (so far); not sure exactly how many Dig Out Your Soul sold in the end - about 400K was it? - but he may yet outdo it.

I wonder how far behind No.2 Buble is? Could we end up with three 100K+ albums this week?

Amazon only have a set amount of stock to sell cheap though - with Take That and SuBo last year the £1 albums only lasted about a minute. Mind you, she's doing so well she hardly needs the boost. I was hoping for an iPad for a tenner - I think I may have had unrealistic Black Friday expectations

Very true, when I had a Saturday job in Our Price (many years ago  ) it never ceased to amaze me what a difference stock placement made. Some people will apparently buy whatever they find right under their noses when they enter a shop. it's quite surprising.

I think what you're remembering is Billboard just announced they won't be counting albums sold at less than $3.99 in the US chart.

Thanks Martin - get well soon :)

Can I be a pain and ask what's happened to the Coldplay and Snow Patrol albums today? I fear Snow Patrol will be out of the top 10 already... hope at least Coldplay can hold up over Christmas. Not sure why the Saturdays are getting such a bashing on here - they're harmless aren't they? I've heard the new album and thought it was pretty good - nothing spectacular, just decent catchy mainstream pop. In terms of having loony fans, they're hardly on the same scale as Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga so why all the baiting? :(

It's a shame, I think the album's rather good, but they picked a terrible release week and the new single did poorly so not that surprising I suppose. Surprised Rihanna isn't further ahead of 1D, I also thought Westlife would be lower.

Hello all, been lurking here for literally years, thought I'd finally do the decent thing and sign up... Please be gentle with me
