  1. Quite embarrassed for Niall that he has stalled at #2

I absolutely LOVE Sexual, heard it on KISS on Monday and have been playing it all week.

Hmm. I understand your thinking but like, it still doesn't imply 180-200 should periodically swap with 200-220. You have to remember that the number of plays each day is essentially an average, with a VERY large sample size. It isn't based on chance. Even though # of plays at that level are fairly close, there is no reason a track at #205 would jump up to #190 and then down again without some justifying factor for the jump. Essentially consumption of listening is going to be relatively smooth. It's all down to the large sample size.

That's not really how it works. The top 200 remaining the same does not in any way imply that people are only listening to a small selection of songs all week long (although I'm sure for some listeners that does happen).
  5. This huge surge of sales is going to miss the next tracking week? Not the best decision. I guess they are probably not the type of band to care about a #1 single.
  6. Oh my god what the hell?
  7. Beyonce's team are out of their mind to ignore Hold Up in the UK. It's comfortably #3 on iTunes after a week...
  8. The lead is 25%. Have you seen the spotify numbers..
  9. Why? The iTunes is lead is not that big. Drake's streaming will keep him safe.
  10. Does Drake lose a One Dance sale if somebody uses Complete My Album? Ie. will his album release week boost or hinder his sales?
  11. 20. Rih & Calvin This is going up SO fast
  12. Calvin owns equity in Tidal so maybe it won't go on spotify straight away. In which case Drake is safe.
  13. I wonder why Girls Like got so much of a bigger boost than Lush Life? Also, glad Kiss It Better is doing okay, however the radio edit I just heard on kiss is truly so awful, I really think it will hurt the song's performance. "Crack" and "f***" [yo pride] are blanked in quick succession in the most awful, choppy way.

Is there a chart of each song's peak plays on UK spotify? Presumably Hello would be #1.
  16. Do we expect 5H to go top 10? Do they have a solid fan base here?
  17. Work up to ~0.65 when combined with other versions.
  18. The sales were split. It was released about midnight on Friday so essentially had 2 days to chart. It peaked at #2 on iTunes and stayed top 10 for a week so easily wouldve charted top 10 under normal circumstances. Also, not exactly a song made for UK audience.
  19. She cancelled 1 performance on doctor's advice. Then her birthday was 6 days later. Was she supposed to stay in moping in order to make you happy? Work is a smash and will end up selling far more than the majority of recent #1s. The block by 7 years is just extreme bad luck

Work goes #1! With a huge +40,000 climb from yesterday.
  21. I wonder if the video effect will be huge with Work as sometimes is the case with Rihanna. Considering it's now available to stream everywhere, and with possible Grammy/Brits performances, it could have a lot of life left yet.

I wonder if Work has potential to climb, lots of people says its a grower. Being on the chart will probably help
  23. Lol! Of course the song leans slightly more to R&B than the typical 1D. But at the end of the day it still passes a pop song easily. It's like One Direction with a twist, instead of actual Zayn Malik as a new/progressive artist. It's very clever production choices from them, but it's still not in line with the massive amount of distancing he has done with the band.
  24. This song is stunning. I think it will do well.
  25. The Zayn song is fine, he has a great recording voice, but it sounds like One Direction so he has essentially lost his credibility from day 1. Slightly embarrassing.
