I’m sure little interest in Lil Wayne here but looking forward to reading the reviews on his new album without doubt the worst rubbish ever released

His last album was 2018 I believe, it's bound to be pretty popular at least for day 1. No big features so don't think he'll trouble the singles top 40

The way this will never get out of ACR and probably go 5x Platinum this or next year without going higher than #81 😅

It could get a reset if it's increased by 25% as it hasn't charted since 2017. It went 5x platinum back in March, the first non-top 75 to do so

So depressing we are into June and only 7 songs released this calendar year and in the YE top 40.

Only 6 in the top 40 😭 and another 8 across the whole top 100 (9 if you count Back To Friends which was released on 27th December/start of tracking year).

This time last year there were 13 songs released in 2024 in the top 40 and a further 10 lower down in the top 100. What a drop off, just so many monster hits last year, and of course the rise in streams for much older songs

  4. OK if Back To Friends isn't in this week I'll eat my hat, Don't Stop Me Now will fall out.

Also thinking the next oldie to enter might be We Are The People, been popping in and out of the audio streaming chart quite a bit.

If and when it does drop out, does that only leave 'Cruel Summer' (which had only 1 week in the chart before 2023) of the songs released, or at least first charted, between 2015 and 2022?

Extraordinary if so, as there are now plenty of pre-2015 songs which will take some shifting from these YTDs in years to come, while the last 10 years, aside from the flurry of relatively recent hits in the last couple, looks like it's already becoming something of a vacuum.

Shut Up And Dance, The Night We Met and The Sound Of Silence are still in there (EDIT also Seventeen Going Under, Stick Season, All The Stars and of course Pink Pony Club)

Was the Yeah Yeah Yeahs song not a remix that’s remembered?

Ah that's true but I think the original version is still fairly popular too. If we don't count that I'd put Maps (26) as their best remembered

Reviving another old thread 😆- most of the ones I would've thought of have been mentioned already. Will contribute with some names that aren't quite as big

NSYNC- do people still remember Girlfriend (2)? Bye Bye Bye (3) and It's Gonna Be Me (9) are surely more popular now

Train- think Drops Of Jupiter (10) and Hey Soul Sister (18) get more streams now than Drive By (6)

Portishead- Glory Box (15) is more famous than All Mine (8)

Republica- Ready To Go (13) is more famous than Drop Dead Gorgeous (7)

Jamiroquai- highest charting is Deeper Underground (1), Virtual Insanity (3) is better remembered

Sum 41- highest charting is Fat Lip (8), In Too Deep (13) is better remembered

Korn- biggest is Here To Stay (12) when Freak On A Leash is better remembered (24)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- biggest is Date With The Night (16), Heads Will Roll (89) is surely their best remembered

Nine Inch Nails- Closer (25) is way more famous than The Hand That Feeds (7)

Tenacious D- highest is Pick Of Destiny (24), their best known is easily Tribute (80, but wasn't released as a single originally)

The Libertines- would argue Don't Look Back Into The Sun (11) is better remembered than Can't Stand Me Now (2)
