Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - The Final
My Immortal is great, the band version is the best version. We Didn't Start The Fire is a classic and is much loved in our house as it helps with history revision 😁 Much prefer Gaga's other Fame singles but Alejandro is still good.

Standing In The Way... is such a great song, at least it's in the top half. Good to see Chic top 20 but surprised to see the Kooks that low! The Tatu one was terrible on first listen, do not get the appeal at all.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - The Final
Ouch, a few of my big scorers gone in the past couple days. Love the Beach Boys so had to give them a big scorer even if it's not one of their best tracks and Gran Turismo is a great album from the Cardigans, Erase/Rewind definitely a highlight on it. Da Funk is awesome, peak French house, better than Around The World imo. Also sad to lose Lucky Man, Light My Fire and Faded.

Completely forgot to include Believer as a multi plat song that didn't reach the top 40, it's such an obvious one too 😭. That's 65 songs to do it, thanks for the reminder @Envoirment

It's the biggest song to miss the top 75 for sure.

Think Nokia will enter this week unfortunately, with either 360 or Tears For Fears dropping out. Some interesting songs in the audio streaming chart this week, that might spice things up a little!

653k for Alex today, Pink Pony still ahead of Anxiety. Sombr- Back To Friends up to 51 and Undressed up to 122. Not Like Us back above Nokia too, not all hope is lost!

Is the Radio 1 chart show this week getting cancelled? (21 March 2025)
With all the long runners in the chart what's the point of playing every song, it gets memed a lot here but you would genuinely be hearing the likes of Lose Control every week and it would be a real turn-off, plus there's no guarantee they can play everything anyway especially with so many songs without clean edits making the chart/songs by controversial artists. Back in the day with so many new entries/songs entirely fit for radio it would be fine but not in today's chart landscape. Skipping songs is fine if it's the right ones (long-runners/songs on ACR) unfortunately they hardly ever do it right.

Domino Dancing is just alright to me, prefer some other PSB tracks. Forgot About Dre and Dancing In The Moonlight are both iconic though, shame to lose them this early.

Not saying he's not a streaming giant, just saying he's not as big of a force as before. The Highlights was year to date number 1 on sales of 110,000 this time in 2023, Ed is doing around the same now but is year to date number 3, plus at least 10k of those will be physical sales.

For the first time since 2016 Ed had no songs in the year end top 100 last year. Perfect was in every year since its release, Shape Of You missed the one in 2020 but made every year's list up to 2022, while Shivers and Bad Habits were top 40 three years in a row (Bad Habits the only song to be top 2 for 2 years) then vanished from 2024's list. If the Tour Collection was released in 2021/22 it would've had The Highlights level success, possibly better, but it's currently dipping in and out of the top 5 less frequently than that album did. He's not as big of a streaming giant as before

To be fair Autumn Variations was a low key indie release that received barely any promotion. Subtract still did solidly with only one big hit attached to it. But with interest in his back catalogue going down it's evident that Ed is falling out of fashion somewhat which makes me doubtful

I'm not even convinced Ed will be in the running. Top 10 debut easily but if Eyes Closed is anything to go off he will struggle to go number one.

Creep and Labour before Brown Eyed Girl 😮 not too surprising given their performance on the indie chart though. Then again I thought Do I Wanna Know was doing better than both...

Yep but Mario said he found the sample from the Fugees song specifically and that's what is used in the song.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - The Final
Al Green and Wild Cherry have been pretty big losses for me, both huge 70s classics that I love. There's 2 versions of Let's Stay Together on Spotify with one of them having the backing vocalists mixed quieter, it's much better. Out of the others today The Lovecats is one of the weaker Cure songs I've heard, and my first listen of Get Together was thanks to this rate and it sounded so dated to me (not in a good way) so it's only 1 of 2 songs I dislike out of the 50 here.

Pink Pony back up to 2 on Spotify, Doechii down to 5! Lil Tecca falls to 18 and WizTheMC up to 19. Jack and Doja out of the top 200.

Marc Bolan should've got a songwriter credit on Cigarettes and Alcohol, that riff is ripped straight from Get It On. One of the weaker Oasis singles of the 90s but still decent.

Way Down We Go becomes the 64th song to go multi-platinum without reaching the top 40. Obviously a more common occurrence than I initially thought!
