  1. I would've actually credited those ones to the Supremes :D
  2. Brilliant stuff, thank you :)
  3. Ah thanks, saves me a job :D Some names I definitely wouldn't have expected. By any chance could you reveal number 21 please? Would've just included stuff credited to "Cliff Richard And The Shadows" to Cliff by himself had I done this.
  4. Interesting list. I attempted to do something similar based on a points system (+20 points for every week at 1 and so on up to +1 for every week at 20) but saw Elvis' chart history and gave up  Strange to not see Ed Sheeran make the top 20 but I guess he doesn't have many albums
  5. Must be a glitch in their system as they've combined the EP's 70 chart run with "Step Into Christmas"'s post-digital release run. Edited it now
  6. Full update, copied straight from Official Charts Company article here: https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/o...hristmas-songs/ Christmas songs are like Brussels sprouts: they only appear in December and you either love or loathe them - but either way they are an essential component of the festive season. Like distant relatives bounding into your family home on Christmas morning, every December sees a flurry of festive favourites flood back into the Official Chart - ever since the age of downloading (2005) and streaming (2014) made the classics (as well as the newer Christmas songs) more accessible. As ever, the 2024 festive season is seeing plenty of Christmas classics back in this Official Singles Chart - but a smattering of newer tracks are emerging, too. Magic Radio revealed the list yesterday (22 December) in a special programme celebrating all things Christmas. Looking at the UK’s most-streamed Christmas songs, based on Official Charts Company data, the Top 3 is the holy trinity of classics: Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You lands at the top of the tree with 475 million streams to date, followed by Wham’s Last Christmas, on 457m, and Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl with 316m plays. All three are usually the first to return to the Official Chart each December, often competing for spots in the Christmas Chart Top 10. Completing the Top 5 are two more old favourites, Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas Everyone in fourth 267m), and Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (258m). The highest-placed modern Christmas song - that is, festive songs released since 2010 - goes to Michael Bublé's It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas. The 2011 take on the classic track comes in close behind Brenda at Number 6 with 257m plays. Ariana Grande also has a big modern festive hit, with sparkly 2014 single Santa Tell Me landing as the UK’s eighth most-streamed Christmas track with 232m streams. Other modern festive songs holding their own against the classics include Kelly Clarkson’s Underneath The Tree in 11th place (197m), Leona Lewis’ One More Sleep in 15th place (170m), and Justin Bieber’s Mistletoe in 19th (153m). You can listen back to Magic Radio's countdown of the Official Top 40 now on the Rayo app. 1 ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU MARIAH CAREY 2 LAST CHRISTMAS WHAM! 3 FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK POGUES 4 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE SHAKIN STEVENS 5 ROCKIN AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE BRENDA LEE 6 IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE MICHAEL BUBLE 7 DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS BAND AID 8 SANTA TELL ME ARIANA GRANDE 9 STEP INTO CHRISTMAS ELTON JOHN 10 I WISH IT COULD BE CHRISTMAS EVERYDAY WIZZARD 11 UNDERNEATH THE TREE KELLY CLARKSON 12 DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS CHRIS REA 13 IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR ANDY WILLIAMS/ROBERT MERSEY ORC 14 JINGLE BELL ROCK BOBBY HELMS 15 ONE MORE SLEEP LEONA LEWIS 16 MERRY XMAS EVERYBODY SLADE 17 HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER) JOHN & YOKO/PLASTIC ONO BAND 18 WONDERFUL CHRISTMASTIME PAUL MCCARTNEY 19 MISTLETOE JUSTIN BIEBER 20 HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS MICHAEL BUBLE 21 LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW DEAN MARTIN 22 SLEIGH RIDE RONETTES 23 SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW LILY ALLEN 24 FELIZ NAVIDAD JOSE FELICIANO 25 CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COLDPLAY 26 SNOWMAN SIA 27 CHRISTMAS (BABY PLEASE COME HOME) DARLENE LOVE 28 DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN KRISTEN BELL/AGATHA LEE MONN 29 WHITE CHRISTMAS BING CROSBY 30 MERRY CHRISTMAS ED SHEERAN & ELTON JOHN 31 LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW FRANK SINATRA 32 THE CHRISTMAS SONG NAT KING COLE 33 STOP THE CAVALRY JONA LEWIE 34 STAY ANOTHER DAY EAST 17 35 SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN MICHAEL JACKSON & JACKSON FIVE 36 SANTA BABY KYLIE MINOGUE 37 MARY'S BOY CHILD BONEY M 38 LONELY THIS CHRISTMAS MUD 39 2000 MILES PRETENDERS 40 BLUE CHRISTMAS ELVIS PRESLEY
  7. On the Brenda Lee combining thing, I think the two versions of Disturbed's Sound Of Silence were released on different labels (original on Reprise, remix on Spinnin') so again it must be a case-by-case basis. However both those labels are owned by Warner so maybe it's to do with both versions being under the same label group?

Absolutely hyped for this! What a great year 2024 has been. Will hopefully have my own alternative chart of the year show recorded before the 1st
  9. Most albums peak in popularity in their first week though so that's when it's highest peak will be achieved. Obviously for streaming acts like SZA it doesn't matter when it's released for overall success but for a number one peak the correct release date is everything
  10. First time paying attention to this thread how the heck did I end up at 3???
  11. The chart is just Global Radio airplay/iTunes and a tiny bit of Apple Music streaming. Pretty sure the airplay part of it is completely farcical
  12. Hope SZA has done enough to beat Buble. Low playlisting come in clutch please!
  13. Initially it was a promo thing, when people actually went out to buy singles the marketers would say "Official Christmas number one" on a sticker or something to get the single to sell more before shops closed for Christmas. Now it's because the chart date actually falls on the 25th I think

That one actually made the top 40, got to 23

"Try That In A Small Town" from last year fortunately did not make our top 100
  16. That's impossible! There's only 40 songs in a top 40
  17. Nothing new from SZA yet, just "Snooze", "Kill Bill" and "Nobody Gets Me" sticking around

+5 Messy +4 APT +3 Last Christmas +2 Jingle Bell Rock +1 It Can't Be Christmas -1 Rockin Around the Christmas Tree -2 Fairytale of New York -3 Santa Tell Me -4 All I Want For Christmas Is You -5 That's So True
  19. If SZA can do 25k she's got it. Will be nice for SOS to finally get the top spot!

It's around 5k away, definitely platinum next week
  21. No chart show on 24th May as it clashed with Big Weekend but Jack did a top 20 rundown with Sian Eleri and Diplo
  22. Big jump for Feliz Navidad!
  23. +20 Jeepster +19 Magical Mystery Tour EP +18 She Loves You +17 Uptown Funk +16 You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet +15 Hallelujah +14 JCB Song +13 Happy +12 (Just Like) Starting Over +11 Floral Dance +10 Human +9 Patience +8 Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town +7 It's Now Or Never +6 Heal The World +5 Chocolate Salty Balls +4 Knockin On Heaven's Door +3 Rock Around The Clock +2 Ice Ice Baby +1 Love Yourself You may notice there is not a single Christmas song in here
  24. Kinda wish she'd hold off until the first week of January as people will complain about the lack of 2025 albums being on next year's EOY chart and hers is guaranteed to make it if it's anything like SOS (also she'll miss some high peaks to Christmas songs this week) :D
  25. It's about to be pulled from streaming /download services over some Brazilian claiming it plagiarised them! Now I think I realise why David Guetta/Kygo use the melodies of established hits for their new material
