Ooh shame the Cribs aren't number one. Was expecting Alter Bridge to be higher too, great album! Fingers crossed Blue can at least give us a new number one
  2. That's another song I'm hearing a lot on socials, think it's just gone viral with no real backstory behind it
  3. All The Things She Said has been on the lower end of the dance charts for the past few weeks and has been all over my socials for a while now. Not a song I want to see revived so a bit annoyed it's taking off even more 😬
  4. 3rd: 390 points Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl Voters: dancember (20), GreyAsh (20), Scone1 (20), jimwatts (19), Michael Bubré (19), Roba. Despite streaming playlists placing it lower down due to Americans being unfamiliar with it, the track has continued to place highly in the UK each festive season, spending a week at each position in the top 20 except 1 and reaching the top 20 every year since 2005. It had an early leg up compared to the other festive classics thanks to the 2005 chart rule where a downloadable song could only chart if it had a physical release on the shelves. The 2005 physical reissue came about as a way to promote a campaign to start an investigation into Kirsty MacColl's death which occured in 2000.
  5. Gone with Fleetwood Mac (how could I not), James Marriott and She & Him

If Paul or Ringo die this year I'm blaming you 😂

Oh glad we aren't just expecting one new entry this week, hope Zach can hold on (and maybe Midnight Sun climbing in?)

Gotta say I'm not a fan of this new Bruno song, way too generic by his standards, hope it isn't a massive hit like DWAS or APT...

Don't give any songs that aren't going to reach new peaks a reset please ❤️

Will be very embarrassing for the OCC if this ends up as YE number one!

Get this out of the top 10 istg

Radio 1 probably having a huge sigh of relief now that Golden is out of the top 10 and they don't have to play any Demon Hunters 😂 of course one of the songs could end up at 40 and they'll play it

Ooh hope Think About Us can finally go top 20. Boo at the Police skip! Fingers crossed Purple Rain can hold up well enough to go top 10 again 💜
  14. gasman449 posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
No, ironically his 3rd highest was Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad at 46 😂 though if they had resets he would've had 3 in the top 40

Would guess Prince was the last "legacy" artist to have 3 top 40s enter after his death. XXXTentacion definitely had 3 after his death but they were current hits. Ozzy came pretty close to having 3 Sabbath tracks and 3 solo tracks in the top 40 last year
  16. Escapism by Raye did so in 2023. I think Someone You Loved also did in 2019?

Guessing Zach Bryan has no physicals due to short notice release? Can't see him challenging for number one
  18. Think Wham did 2k in week 2 for 2025, what are we thinking Christmas songs will do this year?
  19. There were 16 former number ones in the first top 40 of 2015, not sure if that's been beaten!
  20. I'm confused at why they haven't playlisted When Did You Get Hot, they had it as a track of the weekend the week it went to ACR I believe? I would guess the label pulled it last second and just didn't offer a replacement as there was no point in pushing it. My station (which clones its playlist from Radio 1 for the most part) has it on our A list

In 1980 he bagged a solo number 16 hit with "You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties". He followed it up with this anti-war protest song. Originally written with the gallantry of the Crimean War in mind, Lewie changed the lyrics to reflect all soldiers. The brass section is played by a Salvation Army band. The song contains only one reference to Christmas, with Lewie's label Stiff Records adding a bell section in the hopes of improving its performance over the festive period. If John Lennon had not been murdered and his songs did not enjoy a revival, this song would've been number one in the first week of 1981!
  22. 7th: 307 points Gotta Get Thru This - Daniel Bedingfield Voters: Dobbo (19), Jason (19), Mack. Inspired by Daniel's separation from his then-girlfriend from Leeds, "Gotta Get Thru This" found a following in the UK garage scene after he sent the track to DJs who played the track as part of their sets. The song was released as Daniel's debut single and it was a massive success, becoming the first of 3 number ones for Daniel and helping his album become one of the biggest-sellers of the 2000s decade. It was also a big hit in the US where it reached the top 10 despite UK garage not being a popular sound there. It was nominated for a Best Dance Recording at the 2003 Grammys.
  23. Imagine is always a classic. Obviously it's a bit weird hearing one of the most successful musicians ever telling us to "imagine no possessions" but it's such a powerful track that gets you thinking. I've come around a lot on Oasis over the past few months, I think Whatever is a solid track and gave it some points

Hi Ren silver and Lose Control gold is good to see. Kenny Rogers certified after mentioning it in the Christmas number 3 rate is spooky. Can't believe the Pokemon theme was certified, what a banger!
