Hoping that Audrey Hobert and Pupsies could sneak into top 40. Maybe Cameron Whitcomb in a few weeks. if ACR was working properly then they would have chances of doing so.

The other issue with new entries becoming rarer, is that the UK singles chart which was known for its variety. has lost what made it special. There was something for everyone and all genres, musical tastes. But with only 1 new entry and that from Gracie Abrams who already had other songs in the top 100 and last week 3 new entries, how can people latch onto new artists and discover new music. I do think a review is necessary or Mr Brightside will be in the charts this time 10 years later! I do think first week streams should be weighted higher or older songs continually reduce their stream value every few weeks.

At this rate, there won't be enough new songs for the Now compilations.

One new entry in the top 100 update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Three new entries in the entire top 100! Feck its woeful. Maybe just end the singles chart altogether. it doesn't resemble anything worth keeping. How will the next generation have nostalgia for the excitement of the charts?

It really is getting tougher for new songs and artists to break through. Surely a rethink is required. Some songs in that top 100 are never ever leaving!

Its even worse than we thought, after the supposed clear out, no new entries to the top 40 and only 3 new in the entire top 100 , Myles Smith, Hugel and an AI track! Music in 2026 really is fantastic, no wonder so many oldies about!

Loving all the fresh music, a Scottish football song and well that's about it. Who knew it would get to this state?

Listening to those Drake tracks, they are abysmal, do people really want to listen to that nonsense in 2026. Even worse they are currently the only songs released in 2026 in that top 10 and this past the mid point of May 2026! As for Eurovision, I thought more than 1 would be showing up by now going by past years. All very dismal. I do think new chart rules required. Some of those songs may never ever leave the chart!

Any sign of the Eurovision songs? Are they not usually showing up by now?

Yet another underwhelming chart. Possibly no new entries in top 40. The 1950's charts were more dynamic at this rate.

Surely Malcolm Todd must be top 40 by now. Also would love a reset for "Young hearts run free" and the amazing Candi Staton.

In this chart update, 30 songs between 41 and 100 have been there for more than 6 months, some much longer! I really don't see why they cannot be removed unless showing signs of increased listening. This beneifits no one yet if removed it would allow other artists an opportunity to promote their music. In decades past they were removed.

Imagine, lets have a chart show and ignore all the new entries!

Well this is going well, in a very much shortened chart, lets play Olivia Dean on a loop. At this stage I think we are going to have to endure her easy listening songs forever more.

Of course lets not play the new entry for Noah Kahan. Makes no sense.

I think it is worth mentioning some really interesting artists getting a top 100 UK hit single due to Gorillaz. I have been a fan of Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar for awhile now. Also good to see a posthumous hit for Dave Jolicoeur.

Getting very excited that Annalisa could get a top 100 hit in Uk with the fabulous Sinceramente! It was a San Remo song from 2 years ago. Not sure why it is rocketing up spotify.

These charts are getting beyond a joke, The top 3 has an average of 43 weeks each in the charts! The 1950's were even more dynamic. As for the four new entries currently showing in the top 40, there is a good chance none of them will be there on Friday.
