Disappointed Shakira not getting a credit on Eurosummer

Yet another underwhelming chart. Possibly no new entries in top 40. The 1950's charts were more dynamic at this rate.

Surely Malcolm Todd must be top 40 by now. Also would love a reset for "Young hearts run free" and the amazing Candi Staton.

In this chart update, 30 songs between 41 and 100 have been there for more than 6 months, some much longer! I really don't see why they cannot be removed unless showing signs of increased listening. This beneifits no one yet if removed it would allow other artists an opportunity to promote their music. In decades past they were removed.

Imagine, lets have a chart show and ignore all the new entries!

Well this is going well, in a very much shortened chart, lets play Olivia Dean on a loop. At this stage I think we are going to have to endure her easy listening songs forever more.

Of course lets not play the new entry for Noah Kahan. Makes no sense.

I think it is worth mentioning some really interesting artists getting a top 100 UK hit single due to Gorillaz. I have been a fan of Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar for awhile now. Also good to see a posthumous hit for Dave Jolicoeur.

Getting very excited that Annalisa could get a top 100 hit in Uk with the fabulous Sinceramente! It was a San Remo song from 2 years ago. Not sure why it is rocketing up spotify.

These charts are getting beyond a joke, The top 3 has an average of 43 weeks each in the charts! The 1950's were even more dynamic. As for the four new entries currently showing in the top 40, there is a good chance none of them will be there on Friday.

Odd DtMf is not higher

Am I the only person totally underwhelmed by Olivia Dean? I should like it but it just washes over me.

How fantastic to hear Nuevayol and what a bop! Slightly disappointed Bad bunny is No2 in Ireland singles and Uk albums. Deserves a No1.

Odd that Gone Gone Gone keeps showing up during the early part of the week but falls a lot by the chart day.

Still extremely difficult for new music to breakthrough. Years ago songs would be starred out and removed after they had declined for a period.

Looking like there might be no new entries into the top 40 which is very disappointing for a time of year when there should be a lot of new stuff.

Such a positive start to the year! Last week with all those classics back and Landslide finally being a top 40 hit. Djo getting a deserved No1. Now this week, 2 brilliant new songs for 2026 already in I just might and Midnight sun. Also enjoying that Choosin Texas too.

I bought the Chicks version on cd single. And oddly "No degree of separation" by Francesca Michielin is one of my top 10 songs of all time!

What a classic song, finally a chart hit!

Very pleased that Diana Ross is back in top 40 after so long. And Zooey Deschanel gets a deserved hit at 97. A great week to be a chart fan.

One of the best charts to listen to ever. It proves that a host of new/re entries make for such an exciting chart. Brings me back to the good old days. They have been so stale in recent years.
