  1. I’ve corrected it for you… 😜
  2. Mind blown 🤯! From a quick search, I don’t think Fleetwood Mac have ever been number 1 in this chart! Shockingly, prior to this year, ‘Dreams’ was their only track to peak between 11 and 30 - and they had never previously had a song peaking between 11 and 20. This year, they have achieved that twice, with ‘Landslide’ and ‘Dreams’.
  3. I guess it was one of the songs to benefit from the hot weather, but not quite enough to grant it another reset.

I hope so. But it never seems as ‘aggressive’ as Mariah’s publicity. And also, the marketing doesn’t reach the public consciousness as much. Yes, you’ve got things like the ‘Last Christmas’ movie, and ongoing marketing throughout the year, such as the two Wham! documentaries and the ‘Last Christmas’ documentary - but I think it’s more a case of the fact that the marketing is low-level but sustained. Btw - Happy 63rd birthday to George Michael for yesterday.

I’m not sure of the official rules, but many acts have had multiple formats counted when being released at different times. Normally it’s reissue (‘Last Christmas’ is one obvious example), so I don’t know if there are examples of it happening early on in a song’s life, but knowing the OCC, they will find a way to allow 3 different formats each week.
  6. I’m not comfortable with this track and it brings back memories of when ‘Ride On Time’ hit number 1. Using a singer’s vocals without their permission - and not even crediting them is just wrong in my books - and Sybil is gutted and furious with the way her vocals have been used. It would be great to hear Sybil back in the charts if it wasn’t done so without her permission.
  7. Just had another thought: Stevie Nicks. I don’t think she’s had a Number 1 either as a performer or as a writer. I imagine the closest she has come as a songwriter is Bootylicious reaching number 2. She wrote and sang 6 of Fleetwood Mac’s most streamed tracks - including being sole songwriter and lead performer on 5 of them. Her songs were never big hits - and as a lead vocalist, I think she still hasn’t had a top 10 song - previously only reaching the top 20 with ‘Rooms On Fire’ and a dance cover of ‘Dreams’ but has finally doubled that Number this year. But she is clearly an icon.
  8. I would have said the same about ‘Dreams’ but I would have been wrong!

That’s impressive that ‘Landslide’ is so high up the list! I was going to say that it had three weeks more to go, but we don’t know for certain which week it actually evaded ACR. And two of those songs hoping to peak or repeak this week is also impressive!
  10. I’m surprised that ‘Landslide’ dodged rather than ‘Dreams’!

I did have a significant increase on Spotify last week (ANOTR)
  12. I agree. But when you listen to today’s music you realise how many of today’s (particularly female) artists are influenced by them. A lot of their music would not seem out of place if released today. An Olivia Dean song came on when I was out, and I was sure it was Fleetwood Mac. I went to see Stevie Nicks in Hyde Park last year, and the audience was such a cross-section of ages. Their music is timeless.
  13. Fleetwood Mac are doing very well on Apple at the moment. 48. (+7) Dreams 75. (+1) Go Your Own Way 82. (+7) Little Lies 120. (+8) The Chain 123. (+6) Everywhere 155. (RE) Everywhere 173. (+17) Don't Stop 198. (RE) Gypsy This is the first time I have seen ‘Gypsy’ chart, and likewise with ‘Don’t Stop’ though it has been there a couple of days now. I think this is the highest I’ve ever seen ‘Little Lies’, and the multiple versions of ‘Everywhere’. And if there are multiple versions of ‘Everywhere’, there could well be multiple versions of the other songs lower down.
  14. I bet we will find out on Sunday and Monday that many of them have dodged after all 😅
  15. For Fleetwood Mac I’d say Dreams has avoided (1% increase on Spotify - and a tiny drop in the chart consider considering there new entries above it) - but the others have entered ACR. And that would imply ANOTR also avoided - it had a significant increase on Spotify. However, I haven’t checked the sales.

Which Olivia? It doesn’t matter to be honest, as Jack Saunders thinks they are interchangeable.
  17. ‘Man I Need’ is back to number 1 on Apple - and that makes me think ‘Rein Me In’ could be number 1 on the OCC next week 🤭 Unless Taylor Swift has something to say about it… Edit: that said, I see ‘Rein Me In’ dropped below ‘Man I Need’ in the Audio Streaming Chart for the first time since March.

Woohoo! At last! I can’t believe this is taken so long to go silver!. This made me laugh! But I love Kelly Llorena so I’m pleased for her. I just can’t believe that she has had a gold album!

Am I right in thinking in previous years it didn’t get a reset? The current OCC rules will probably allow it to reset at some point.
  20. Hooray for ‘Go Your Own Way’! Demon Hunters Soundtrack dropping fast now. Is that 6 Fleetwood Mac songs in the top 100 now? I’m guessing 5 could make it to the year end but ‘Silver Springs’ will drop out.
  21. I agree - that’s why I wouldn’t vote for Amy here. The album was great - but I wouldn’t put her the same bracket as some of the other acts for that reason. Yes. I still don’t feel she’s as big as, say, Bon Jovi, but I feel she is bigger than I remember. And yes - though it wasn’t her biggest hit - ‘Again’ is my favourite.
  22. For me, the thing about Shania is she only really had one big album. She was mentioned in the previous thread. Tina Turner and Bon Jovi, for example, had several big albums and singles in different periods of their careers. Having seen her live though she clearly does have a big following and is an amazing performer.
  23. The one who surprises me here is Janet Jackson. I’ve never thought of her as being that big (in the UK). And unlike, say Tina Turner, I rarely hear Janet Jackson songs played these days, or referred to as classics. In fact, of the top 5 artists, Janet is probably the one I hear the least. I do think her biggest song (regardless of peak) is Together Again.
  24. I’ve just spotted that Fleetwood Mac ‘Everywhere’ is in the Apple top 200 twice. I had wondered how it does do well considering it is so low in the Apple charts. And ‘Little Lies’ appears to be the highest re-entry there – I wonder why it has climbed so much in the past 24 hours? Possibly Just a change to their playlists.
  25. I can’t remember if it’s the only reason but it’s another song on the soundtrack to ‘Off Campus’.
