Spotify charts are in. In both Apple and Spotify, Dara is still one of the top 20 songs on SCR (3 tracks per artist max) - so I’m hopeful she will make the top 40. Possibly even the top 20.

I agree with all of this! It is an ok song and I’m happy to playlist it – but it just didn’t connect with the audience, either in the UK or across Europe. Great song! Terrible performance.

‘Take Care’ is such a beautiful song - definitely my favourite Drake track. But then again the song is probably older than you - it first charted on Billboard in 1960. And because of the song’s connection to The XX, I’d say it’s pretty gay too.

From what I recall, this was more likely to be the case. Certainly at the time we felt it was a ploy that backfired. Just spotted that Whitfield climbed from 219 to number 1 🤣 Loving this new update to the OCC page. Has anyone discovered an even larger jump to Number One?

I did think that, so it’s a possibility. But if anything the songs might have entered a day early, not late - on half a day’s streams. Of course, likewise, the songs might not have charted as their streams would have been split over two days.

Oh - Rein Me In is planning to spend the next 14 weeks at Number 1 to achieve the most consecutive number of weeks there! Don’t knock it!

I’m loving the success of Rein Me In! I’m hoping it can add to the number of records that it has broken. 🤣

Bearing in mind it looks like there is only going to be one Eurovision song charting (I cannot imagine the others climbing over the week) I am even more impressed with Freya Skye doing well in the Album chart - even if she falls away as week goes on. Early in her career, she represented the UK at Junior Eurovision - and is looking likely to have a more promising career than most artists do after representing the UK in the mainstream Eurovision!

But neither is Dara.

It’s even stranger that there seem to be no joint positions outside of the top 40 (e.g. we have 186 and 187) - when most of the songs in the top 40 are joint. That said, there are no equal positions for those who were in the top 40 the previous week. Hmmm.

Wow at Dara! Like everyone else - pretty shocked that no other Eurovision track has charted.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is falling away on the Apple pop chart now, so won’t make the top 200 there. The other Eurovision songs seem to have stalled as well - except Jalla has now debuted. It’s interesting that 3 of the 5 songs charting on either the main or pop Apple chart flopped at Eurovision.

I think we will need to wait until this evening to have a better idea - remember he is still notably ahead on Apple. But if he is ahead of Rein Me In at this stage, he must be notably ahead of the chasing pack (Dracula and MJ) so Id be surprised if he’s not at least number 2.

I find it fascinating that 22 of the songs make the top 90 - but then two of the others don’t chart at all. Especially as I couldn’t stop singing Solo Quiero Mas. For Eurovision fans: was it only me and my friends who ended up singing ‘Baby One More Time’ over the top of ‘Kraj mene’. I’m sure it had the same melody and chord progression.

Looking at the Apple main chart and Apple Pop Chart - LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is the highest pop song outside of the top 200 so it’s probably somewhere between 201 and 205 at the moment.

That corresponds to about 15 when chart rules are taken into consideration.

Last year we had: 27 Espresso Macchiato 37 Bara Bada Bastu 41 Wasted Love 46 Baller 51 What The Hell Just Happened? 🇬🇧 And 4 more from 142 down. But this year, other than Bangaranga and Eclipse, I’m not sure much has resonated with the British public. Maybe Choke Me, My System and Eins Zwei Drei - but we also don’t know whether the songs that the UK public are downloading will be the same as the ones that they are streaming.

I guess it depends how you define fraudulent. For what reason have you said that these albums are fraudulent, and not others?

I may not be right but I think I recall one identifying as heterosexual and the other not.

I’ve counted only 23 songs in Apple’s top 100 are chart eligible and not on ACR. In fact 40 out of the top 200! Gracie is the 13th highest (+3 more that have multiple versions, and Man I Need will be more than double) so if this is anything to go by, Gracie should have a top 20 start.

Terrible that such an old song as this has kept Lush Life out of the top 10! 😱😱😱 😉😉😉
