  1. I feel sad that ‘Cruel Summer’ didn’t make the top half. But still some great songs left to come.
  2. For me, it’s all about these British breakthrough groups that never really broke through. All too often, they get spat out by their record companies and the music industry. So I’m really pleased that FLO have been given another chance, and actually it’s a rare case of it paying off. Remind me, was it a BRIT award that they won, or a BBC Radio 1 award? Or both?

In the past, BTS downloads have had a significant impact. But whether this will be enough to overcome the deficit, I don’t know. Especially as both Rein Me In and iloveitiloveitiloveit will have massively more streams than SWIM each day since the last update.
  4. Ditto I only know Sweetest Smile, which I used to love. I guess it has a vibe of ‘You Have Been Loved’ about it. I think these days I find both Black tracks a little depressing - so even though ‘Wonderful Life’ used to be a favourite of mine, I didn’t place it particularly high.
  5. I was wondering why FLO are in the top 40 Chart Update when they aren’t particularly high on streaming services, but I looked through the Apple chart, and I estimated that their current position of 135 is approximately number 38 out of SCR tracks, but excluding starred out tracks (though it is still confusing how is ahead of New Religion in the update - I guess it is popular on more platforms than the latter.)
  6. Inevitability at this stage I’m starting to lose songs from my top 25. All three of them, with Meatloaf in my top 10. But my 1 pointer clings on.
  7. Finally my big ones are starting to drop. Venus and Untouched are two of only 12 songs that I nominated in the first round to make it to the final - so I now only have 10 left in the top 30. Kelly Clarkson, Stronger was the song I gave most points to despite non-nominating in the very first round (so my number 13) that is still the only other song in my top 25 not remaining - so 22 of my top 25 are in the top 30. Judas just missed my top 25.
  8. When I see ‘Tre Reynolds’ I think it’s The Reynolds Girls back again!
  9. With 6 people putting ‘Yes’ first, I thought it would come top 5! I loved it at the time, but when I play it now, it just feels dated, so didn’t make my top 25. 13 of bottom 15 are now out - and only one of my top 25.
  10. Wow - of the first 15 songs out there are 11 of my bottom 13. Buzzjack broadly agrees with me then. Prodigy, my 1 point, are still in (I never got the love for Prodigy) and Radiohead (really good song - but was 41st out of 41 really good songs). Still only 1 of my top 25 have gone.
  11. Jentina - French Kisses was one I loved. (I think it was penned by Cathy Dennis).
  12. I’m guessing that it has had a slight uplift due to maybe being added to playlists, but it’s a sign that it will grow.
  13. I feel it is stronger on Apple now than this time last week (unless its move upwards is only as a result of climbing above a lot of Harry Styles tracks).

Michael Schulte - must be a rare case of a Eurovision artist who is not from the UK, and did not win, and got certified with a song that was not their Eurovision track.
  15. Not listened in full yet, but it does sound good. Hopefully it can help them to maintain their career. It’s almost impossible for British vocal groups (as opposed to bands) to have success these days.
  16. Definitely prefer Bananarama’s version of Venus! But likewise I ranked Cruel Summer higher (though unlike Venus - I like the Bananarama and Ace of Base versions equally - though AoB had two mixes, and I prefer one to the other). Stronger is the first song from the top half of my votes to go out, though none of the songs in the final who I voted for in the very first round have gone yet (my top 12 - Kelly was 13).
  17. Interesting that even the lowest song has an average of more than 19 points. 4 of my bottom 10 have gone already!

It’ll be close for number 1! And hoping ‘Landslide’ can stay in though it is now not doing so well on Spotify. Does anyone know the reason behind the resurgence of Tate’s album?
  19. Surprised to see ‘Going Under’ so low - but then again there were a lot of great songs in the rank. It was far outclassed though by the other two big hits from the album.
  20. Yes - 100%. A couple of years ago, Last Christmas was ahead in the yearly rankings, but last year Mr Brightside was - and it is still growing. Last Christmas was probably ahead on the all time list for a couple of days at the end of December, but it seems that Mr Brightside will now be there permanently.
  21. It will be the first time to reach any figure you name probably.
  22. Yup. Checked: its Friday streams on Spotify were marginally down on last week, but its Saturday and Sunday streams were notably up - so I think it’s up 20,000 streams already.
  23. My favourite single from the album.
  24. I was wrong about Landslide, and therefore it probably is on DCL-1. However, it has climbed in the Chart Update, so could possibly go back to SCR.
  25. I initially assumed it would be Linkin Park.
