‘Man I Need’ climbing again, on its way back to number 1! 🤣

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Try is such a beautiful song, and I can’t complain about it falling out now as it is 1 place above where I placed it. 10 of my top 20 made the top 14 - but all of the songs left are good, and most of them are great.

Impressed ‘Here Comes The Rain Again’ is so high - but also sad because 6 of my top 10 have now gone. However only 3 of my 11-20 have gone. I’m still guessing Linkin Park for the win (though Robyn has also united us).

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
It’s great that some of the older tracks have done really well in this chart. And also finally, the last of my low scorers is out. Glad that 12 of my top 20 are still to come in the top 17.

Estimated ACR status updates 2026
Hopefully quite a clear out over the next few weeks - and fingers crossed they are replaced by some new songs.

Estimated ACR status updates 2026
I can’t remember whether the data we had in this group confirmed whether it was on SCR or was just a belief. Bearing in mind I think it had declined on Spotify, despite re-entering the top 40.

Estimated ACR status updates 2026
It seems too early for Stateside! But Think About Us has had its time. It’s a shame Fame Is A Gun didn’t quite take off this second time round. But overall, nice to have a clear out. I can’t remember whether Landslide is potentially DCL-3 too - despite going up and down the charts, I’m not sure whether or rather when its streaming figures have increased.

The UK Radio Airplay Chart - W/E 02 April 2026
Interesting that the radio airplay charts always seem to be very male heavy.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 27th March 2026
Oooh. I see Suzette Charles’ new track - her first in 33 years - is currently charting at 83. She was Miss America 9 years earlier after Vanessa Williams was forced to resign.

And there was me wondering why Suzette Charles had started following me on social media! Now I know why. 🤣 I look forward to listening to both of these tracks.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Just realised it’s the ‘Big Bonus Mix’ of Cruel Summer by Ace of Base that I love most - possibly as I feel it deviates most from the Bananarama version, and therefore sounds more like a new song. It was because of that that I was happy giving both of them really high scores in the early rounds. I agree with all of this. I know the excitement amongst the Kylie fanbase was related to the fact that she finally had another big hit, but she only had that hit because it spoke beyond her fan base - it was very popular with many people, even if the popularity was not universal.

I genuinely love ‘Padam Padam’. It still excites me when I hear it. But it clearly divides Buzzjack - or maybe Kylie does. She has divided the music listening audience since the start of her career. Is 4 the record number of last places?

I feel sad that ‘Cruel Summer’ didn’t make the top half. But still some great songs left to come.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 20/03/26
For me, it’s all about these British breakthrough groups that never really broke through. All too often, they get spat out by their record companies and the music industry. So I’m really pleased that FLO have been given another chance, and actually it’s a rare case of it paying off. Remind me, was it a BRIT award that they won, or a BBC Radio 1 award? Or both?

Friday Chart Predictions
In the past, BTS downloads have had a significant impact. But whether this will be enough to overcome the deficit, I don’t know. Especially as both Rein Me In and iloveitiloveitiloveit will have massively more streams than SWIM each day since the last update.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Ditto I only know Sweetest Smile, which I used to love. I guess it has a vibe of ‘You Have Been Loved’ about it. I think these days I find both Black tracks a little depressing - so even though ‘Wonderful Life’ used to be a favourite of mine, I didn’t place it particularly high.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 20/03/26
I was wondering why FLO are in the top 40 Chart Update when they aren’t particularly high on streaming services, but I looked through the Apple chart, and I estimated that their current position of 135 is approximately number 38 out of SCR tracks, but excluding starred out tracks (though it is still confusing how is ahead of New Religion in the update - I guess it is popular on more platforms than the latter.)

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Inevitability at this stage I’m starting to lose songs from my top 25. All three of them, with Meatloaf in my top 10. But my 1 pointer clings on.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Finally my big ones are starting to drop. Venus and Untouched are two of only 12 songs that I nominated in the first round to make it to the final - so I now only have 10 left in the top 30. Kelly Clarkson, Stronger was the song I gave most points to despite non-nominating in the very first round (so my number 13) that is still the only other song in my top 25 not remaining - so 22 of my top 25 are in the top 30. Judas just missed my top 25.

When I see ‘Tre Reynolds’ I think it’s The Reynolds Girls back again!

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
With 6 people putting ‘Yes’ first, I thought it would come top 5! I loved it at the time, but when I play it now, it just feels dated, so didn’t make my top 25. 13 of bottom 15 are now out - and only one of my top 25.

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Wow - of the first 15 songs out there are 11 of my bottom 13. Buzzjack broadly agrees with me then. Prodigy, my 1 point, are still in (I never got the love for Prodigy) and Radiohead (really good song - but was 41st out of 41 really good songs). Still only 1 of my top 25 have gone.

Songs missing from streaming services
Jentina - French Kisses was one I loved. (I think it was penned by Cathy Dennis).
