Friday Chart Predictions
I like it for its nostalgic, singalong qualities. Whenever I hear it in a public place, such as the club, it always gets everyone going. But I agree – it’s not one of Kylie‘s best singles. I prefer its AA side ‘All I Wanna Do Is Make You Mine’

Justice for Kylie! Justice for ‘Especially For You’!

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 12/12/25
That’s brilliant. It was placed as song 4 on that playlist the day the album was released. It’s also on their main Christmas playlist, around track 50. And talking of playlists, XMAS takes first place on quite a few playlists on Amazon, and has just been moved up from 4th place to 3rd place on their main playlist (jumping above Brenda Lee)

Friday Chart Predictions
Just realised that this will be the first time that 3 years in a row the Christmas Number 1 has mentioned the word Christmas or Xmas in its title - although the previous two Christmas Number 1s were based on songs that mentioned Christmas in their title, arguably making it 5 years in a row. And the first time that the Christmas Number 1 has been a song about Christmas for five years in a row. Even excluding LadBaby, it will equal the previous record of 3 consecutive years that songs about Christmas have been Christmas Number 1.

Yes. Their lead over Mariah this year is still quite significant.

Woah! That’s bonkers 😍

Friday Chart Predictions
Yes. I agree it’ll be neck and neck at the end of the week. Though Wham! have only caught up by 270 copies since yesterday. I feel Kylie would currently still be maybe 3k ahead if Spotify and Apple data were up to date (especially as Wham! are only on what Kylie was on yesterday with 1 days streams across all platforms added since yesterday) Woah! That’s bonkers 😍

Friday Chart Predictions
Of course last year Wham! had physicals. This year Kylie does.

The bookies have now started to notice, and this is being reflected in the odds.

Friday Chart Predictions
It’s climbed a lot in the mid weeks from last week. Do we know why?

Friday Chart Predictions
My projections: Wham! 47,500 (though could be up to 49k) Kylie 49,700 (though in the range 46-50k) I think Kylie has this - just. Wham! will be down a lot in last year as last year they had physicals. Kylie‘s team will keep doing more to get that Number 1

Friday Chart Predictions
Not when their ringleader is in Team Kylie.

Friday Chart Predictions
If there were different coloured sleeves, they would count as additional formats surely, and Kylie is already at the maximum number of physical formats.

Friday Chart Predictions
I am not forgetting that Amazon reports a day early - I just didn’t think it needed mentioning. My projections for the week are based on that. This is how I calculated: I found out how many of Kylie’s sales were from streams, and split those into estimates for Friday and Saturday. I then assumed that weekdays would be like Friday, and Sunday would be like Saturday. Then I added the current pure sales on. This would give an underestimate for many reasons, for example, it didn’t include any further pure sales, or any impetus from Strictly of The First Look Chart. For Wham! I compared with this time last week and scaled up accordingly. I don’t have first look data for Wham! for last year as that would’ve given a better comparison - but my estimate seems not too far off as they are down slightly from last year. I’m sure Kylie would be more than 2k ahead if other data was added. I’m sure well over 6k of Wham!’s sales so far came from Amazon, and even with that figure - their total across all platforms to the end of Saturday would be about 2.5k behind Kylie. How did I get the figure of 6k on Amazon? They’d need to have 5.5k there to be ahead of Kylie in their chart: she allegedly has 11k in streaming sales so far - and Wham! are WAY ahead there - for example on Spotify they are 50% ahead of the number 6 - and if this was the same on Amazon they would have over 8k there their total across all platforms would be about 13k - so Kylie would be 4k ahead. Of course, there may be errors in some of my calculations - but I think many people are underestimating how well Kylie is currently doing, and perhaps overestimating her physical sales.

Friday Chart Predictions
I’ve heard through the grapevine that Kylie is marginally ahead of Wham! on streaming alone. I’ve projected her at 42k+ this week - and Mariah will be less than that. Wham! will be maybe 46-47k? But this doesn’t take into consideration any boost Kylie gets from all of today’s publicity. And we also know that Kylie’s team suddenly found an additional 7k at the end of last week. So if anyone can do it, Kylie and her team can. If it’s a Kylie/Wham! top 2 I’ll be delighted either way.

Friday Chart Predictions
I don’t think so. 10k in total is 2 days of Amazon and 1 day of Spotify/Apple. There’s no way an extra day of Spotify/Apple would make an extra 7k.

You’re a long way off. It’s down only 6% on this time last year, and it’s been fairly consistent over the past few days.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 18/12/25
I haven’t analysed this but hopefully it’s a sign that there is broader support for a range of Christmas songs now. Either that or a sign that Olivia Dean is just hyper successful right now.

Unofficial UK number Ones
I was just thinking about this whilst listening to the chart today! I wasn’t sure who was next up to top the chart, but didn’t realise it was as low down as these last two. It’s a pity it wasn’t Kylie, but she will undoubtedly make Number One over one of the next two weeks.

The UK Singles Chart without Christmas songs (2025 edition)
It’s still frustrates me that the OCC only resets songs that would make the top 40. And as Tiffany would have just missed the top 40, they didn’t reset her so she didn’t chart at all. She’s not that far below Kate Bush on this week’s streaming chart.

Its odds aren’t great - but it’s a good start. I guess the industry gets the first info tomorrow.

Exactly. It’s the only film I hear anyone talking about at the moment. Definitely a future cult classic.

Ah! But Tiffany is also in the film ‘Pillion’ that is showing at the moment.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 05/12/25
Yes - I agree with that - but so far it seems like trend rather than a 1 off: and this goes for both overall sales as well as just Spotify.

That’s the smallest year on year drop I’ve spotted for Wham! so far - this seems to be continuing to decrease. It just seems that people are getting into the Christmas spirit later.
